Our server was great. That's why there is one star. The restaurant is dirty, the floor is disgusting, parts of it smell like raw sewage. We ordered 3 rolls, rangoons, dumplings, and Mongolian beef for lunch. They only gave 2 of the 3 rolls. The rangoons had oil running out of them and were soggy. Dumplings were ok. But the Mongolian beef... I'm not sure it was even beef. I've never bit into meat with that texture. It was soft yet stringy. Immediately a no. They put red onions in the Mongolian beef. Who does that?! And the sauce in the dish was thin and tasted like dirty dish water. Everything about it was disgusting. We didn't eat it. We both made the comment about how it must have been someone's first day cooking. When we were leaving, another customer was standing at the hostess stand disputing charges because the server was sneaky and wrote in an additional tip to this woman's bill. We will never be back. For starters this place from the exterior looks like it might be a super old setup. Once inside it was super pleasant and calming! Where we were seated was the normal non hibachi side and they were comfy seats. The interior design looked to follow over into the hibachi areas and was quite clean. The food when it came out looked beautiful and the sushi rolls were large AND it was buy one get one roll this night which is a great deal. Our waiter was fun and friendly and attentive just when it was needed. Will come back here often when i am in the area. read more

I know people are really skeptical about eating sushi in the midwest, but my brother recommended sushi from here (especially because they were open on a Monday) and it didn't disappoint! It was super easy to place an online order and then I drove to get it. The food was sitting right at the front and the staff was very friendly. Everything was packaged really well and all items were accounted for. We got a few different rolls, crab rangoon, and fried rice. The rolls were delicious - light and good combos. The fish tasted very fresh! The fried rice was also tasty and got devoured. We ate the crab rangoon because they were there, but I wouldn't recommend getting them. read more

Hibachi! We stopped in to this Japanese vibe restaurant as one of our last dinners capping off a 5700 mile Route 66 cross country trip. Everything seemed very clean in the Sushi bar, dining and Hibachi areas. Our server brought drinks and took our orders right after we were seated. She then brought out our salad and soup. The souped was a clear mushroom broth with crispy onions and the salad had a very good creamy dressing. Our chef cam out and performed a great show as he prepared our meal. The food was all very good. I had the Hibachi chicken and shrimp an my wife had the hibachi steak and shrimp. Both came with fried rice that had a healthy portion of garlic butter that used in the preparation along with teriyaki sauce. Top this with some yum yum sauce and mmmm was it good. My only critique is that the chef saved some egg aside to cut up for us to catch in our mouth however he didn't get to it until all of the meals were finished and on the plates and everyone was eating. Not a bad thing just would have been better timed during the preparation instead of when we were eating. Overall this was a great experience and we would come back again. read more

Came here recently for a dinner with friends. We sat on the restaurant side and looked through the large menu. Some of us got hibachi, I got California rolls and sesame chicken with fried rice. The food came quickly and tasted great! Overall, good portion sizes and came out how we liked. The server was almost too friendly. We went to Izumi Steakhouse for a big family outing and had an awesome time! The food was great, and everyone loved the experience. Service was pretty good as well. I wish they had a few more vegetarian options, and a little price friendly but overall everything was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and lively. We've ordered from Izumi a couple of times before, but last night's order didn't seem as good as expected. We are sushi and sashimi lovers and have eaten at many places throughout the country and world. Last night, the sashimi was sliced too thick, making it like a chunk of protein instead of a melt in your mouth experience. Also, the sushi presentation was over done. I've never had sushi presented with lemon slices and a large amount of spiral carrots on top. The lemon ruined the taste of the fish. The delivery service was great. read more

Reservations at 6:15pm on a Saturday night when hoco was happening. Sat down right away in the dining room. Walked out after NO ONE acknowledged us for 15 minutes. Even if we did get our water at 15 minutes, the fact it took that long to even get acknowledged did not portend to a good dining experience that night. I'm sure the attentiveness of our server would have been lacking. Lately, we've been going to Kobe Sushi and Hibachi lately, and they are really good. We decided to try Izumi. They failed big time. We will go back to Kobe from now on. Izumi lost our business tonight and for the future. I get its hoco night, but that just means to staff your restaurant as appropriate. read more

So I walked in early in the day to make a reservation. They were very friendly and were more than willing to help. We sat at one of the grills. The service was excellent and the chef was amazing. I didn't like the hot and sour soup as much as from the usual place I eat back home, but the sweet and sour chicken was the best I've had anywhere. The waitress was sweet and accommodating. Although I did not have the hibachi grill, our waitress was pleasant and the cashew chicken is wonderful.

We sat on the hibachi grill side of the restaurant. We had a variety of hibachi dishes and some sushi. The sushi presentation was so pretty, and delicious!! We fot the french kiss roll, tnt roll, and the dynamite roll. We had combinations of filet mignon, scallops, chicken and swordfish For the hibachi dishes. I recommend getting the ginger dressing for the salad. It was so good. Everything was delicious and our chef was fantastic! He was very charismatic and quite the showman. Only 2 of our 4 were able to catch the egg he tossed our way : ) We intentionally went early, so the restaurant wasn't very full. We are definitely planning on going back. read more

Izumi Steakhouse is hands down my favorite hibachi restaurant in the quad cities! I have been numerous times since they've opened and will proudly say I will continue to come too. Upon entering you're greeted promptly by a well designed restaurant and a host. You'll be asked if you main dining or hibachi too. I've ate both and have always been impressed. Each time I've been I've been promptly sat too. During lunchtime we've even been sat just my boyfriend and I which was amazing. I prefer the lunch menu based upon price as it's significantly cheaper but the dinner menu while it costs more does come with more items and is still worth it. The chefs are all amazing and the food is so delicious and well seasoned. When the grill is lit you feel it all around even if it's not your grill. I've had the sushi too and it amazing. Portion wise everything is satisfying and you'll leave full. I cannot recommend this place enough and I hope enjoy it as much as I do. read more

Went in for lunch and had the choice of hibachi or table service. I chose the table service. Very attentive servers were ready to explain anything on the menu. I decided to make it a "small plates" lunch. Food was fast and delicious! Crispy skin salmon was a new dish for me and did not disappoint. Tuna was perfect and the spicy beans delivered a nice heat. Next time I go, I will get a drink (many options, beer, wine, mixed drinks) and a Bento box. 3 rolls for 12.95 at lunch also. read more

This place is fairly new and I'm glad I checked it out. It's been totally remodeled since the Osaka Steakhouse days and the atmosphere is much better. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the food is delicious. Get the calamari! I'll return often. read more

Just not good. Atmosphere is plain, but is somewhat dark and didn't seem that clean. Ordered off the menu, did not do hibachi. Food was average at best. Sushi roll I had was soggy and didn't seem very fresh. The hibachi chicken my wife had was not good. Had a very unusual seasoning that gave it an off flavor. I had hot and sour soup that was truly horrible with a chemical taste. I know a lot of people that like this place, but I'm not one. Had planned to try the hibachi side, but probably won't now. Too many other good places to go instead. read more
