I was passing through town on business and wanted some Chinese food so I decided to give this place a try, based on reviews. Arrived after the main lunch crowd (1:30) and was promptly greeted and seated. I was expecting a hot, delicious meal. Instead I ended up with a COLD plate of food. The fried rice was cold, not even lukewarm, but cold. The noodles were room temperature which made the coldness of the rice even more apparent. The meats were tasty, but again just lukewarm. I ate the lukewarm food, left the cold rice and moved on. I was actually surprised none of the other patrons were bothered by the temperature of the food. The walk from the buffet to the table wasn't long enough to render the food cold. read more

The food quality is the same, but I believe that China Capital has new ownership. I do not take advantage of the buffet, but always get a take out order (cooked to order and not off of buffet). Previously, the styrofoam container contained a full order of rice and entree. Now, it barely fills the container. In fact, it doesn't fill the container. I should at least get the same size container (styrofoam) as before and filled with my order instead of very small portions. Bring back the previous owners, please! read more

Stopped by while driving through Tupelo. A simple smaller Chinese buffet but everything was on point. All the ingredients were of good quality and fresh. Nothing was too heavy and slimy, and you can actually taste he crispiness of the fresh veggies. One edge this place has over the other numerous Chinese buffets around this area is its cleanliness. Nothing is greasy to the touch and there were no cross contamination of different food items. The staff also had speedy and friendly service with a hearty smile :) read more

Best in N MS !!!! Been eating here since I moved there in 1977. We usually went twice a month until Covid shut them down.

Been going here my whole life, about 25 years and I still love it. Just so easy. You get to set your stuff down and immediately go to the buffet, no questions asked. Being that it's a buffet, sometimes things aren't as fresh as they could be, but they do a pretty good job of keeping the food switched out. read more

Used to go there at least a few times a year, but as of late the service has really gone down in quality. You walk into a restaurant you expect to be greeted and seated right? Or at least acknowledged. Well myself and friend stood by ourselves at the front of a line of several people for at least 15 minutes and not one server even spoke to us. They walked past us just fine though. Eventually we just decided to seat ourselves as it was Buffet time. The only table we could find open was completely filthy and sticky. And again we still weren't acknowledged by any service members. The food might be okay but okay food cannot make up for horrendous service and unsanitary eating conditions. The very best around. Go eat lunch from 11:00- 1:00. They close the buffet so they can cook for dinner and it's put out around 4 ish. The owners and workers are the best and always ask us how our family is. Try the egg drop soup it's the bomb!!! Never had a bad meal here. I've been eating here since 1976. Please go by and have the best meal ever. The thing is the buffet and menu are both awesome. read more

China Capital is, without a doubt, the best tasting "Chinese" food in Tupelo. You can order off the menu or choose the buffet. The buffet bar is smaller than most "Chinese" restaurants, but is hands down better tasting than most. My family eats there frequently and we love it. read more

I ordered Vegetable Lo Mein noodles and they tasted like a pack of Ramen Noodles that I could have bought out the store and cooked in the microwave myself. No seasoning and it only came with lettuce and carrots; all other restaurants at least have broccoli and mushrooms. I called back and had to talk to 3 different people who still didn't quite understand my complaint!! Wasted my lunch money for sure, will NEVER go here again. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Tupelo. The servers are nice and always willing to help. They are very accommodating when it comes the changing a dish for you. I am a vegan, and they can make almost any dish with water instead of chicken broth. read more

This place is awful. I ate here yesterday and I have felt like garbage since. Rice was stale, egg rolls were worse. There is clearly very little attention paid to keeping food fresh. It's just sitting under a heat lamp all day and getting crusty on the edges. Do not eat here unless you want to run the risk of feeling sick the next day in exchange for lackluster food. read more
