The food was good. The waiter was very attentive. There was a good section of food to choose from. We ate there during the pandemic, and had to wear a mask and gloves while getting our food from the buffet. The restaurant supplied the gloves, which was convenient. This experience was far better than another buffet we visited where we had to tell the staff what we wanted while we were standing at the buffet counters, which were wrapped in Saran Wrap and had holes to reach in to get your plate. First, let me start off with my order. I had a shrimp egg roll, crab rangoon, shrimp fried rice seafood mein fun, and two Mountain Dews, and had them delivered to my hotel room. The shrimp egg roll was DELICIOUS. Probably the best egg roll I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, that was the only food that stood out. 6/5 The crab rangoon was fine, although I couldn't tell it apart from a simple cheese wonton. I actually thought they had given me plain cheese wontons until I saw a tiny pink piece of crab in the third rangoon I was eating. 3/5 My fried rice was ok. Not bad, but not very good either. There was a fair amount of shrimp in the mixture, but there was at least an entire onion or more in the box. I couldn't believe how much onion was in this fried rice. I eventually had to stop because the onion was making me nauseous. 2/5 Now the seafood mein fun was a decent experience, but it had an odd background taste. Like they used too much soy sauce in the cooking process or something. It definitely wasn't bad, but I spent the entire time that I was eating it trying to figure out what that weird taste was. 4/5 The Mountain Dews are self explanatory. The food alone earned this place 3 stars, but the fact that they brought it to my hotel bumped it to four. Will I order from here again the next time I'm in Tupelo? More than likely. My grandmothers favorite Chinese restaurant around here so I'd figure I'll try it. Don't let the white people working the front desk fool you, there are authentic Chinese people working here. It was extremely busy during lunch on Saturday, but this is a buffet and it is Mississippi. First thing I noticed is there's a very large variety of food. Chinese, Japanese, gulf seafood, fried favorites...My first plate was only Chinese foods. Standard fare. Good. Next plate was sushi. For Chinese buffet sushi I have to give it high marks. You have specialty rolls with different types of fish. Usually you only get the Cali roll at these places, but they had decent stuff. My last plate was my biggest weakness, chicken nuggets. 10 nuggets and I still wanted more but my stomach couldn't handle anymore. Bottom line, if you're visiting the area and are looking for a good buffet or good Chinese food this is a sure bet. And not to offend, if you're from Mississippi, this is a buffet so I'm guessing you're probably already aware of this place and probably eating there now. We decided to stop in Tuepolo on our way back for lunch and decided to get something besides bbq that we had all weekend long in Memphis. Pros: biggest Chinese buffet in the area, nice mix of fried/grilled items, plenty of vegetable options, selection of southern sides, nice kid's area with plenty of small fried meats, pizza, etc. Custom sushi bar where they will build what you want at no extra charge. Nice selection of sauces, fresh salad and fruit bar, big dessert bar. Cons: It's a buffet, so you're always going to have some issues as compared to a nice Chinese sit-down. I can't stand bad Chinese food, Chinese buffet with bad food is the worst. The plus is the ice cream and the hot sour soup. Chow main was greasy and no seasoning, they had no steamed rice, I had to ask for it...most of the stuff is fried, fried shrimp (not seasoned), chicken (sweet sour, orange) was all fried and greasy, how about some black bean shrimp or tofu dishes? They had a scary looking sushi bar, no way, I needed to work they next morning, and the fish did not look fresh, oh they do have Mac and cheese on the Chinese buffet side.....that looked scary too. Here goes!! When you first walk in the first impression is awesome. The staff was extremely friendly and prices were reasonable but it goes down hill from there. The establishment is clean and attractive. Food looks fresh and delicious. I started with spicy shrimp soup (with no shrimp) they dumped head on shrimp later. Yuck. I Then tried the sweet and sour soup (wasn't seasoned) I spotted my favorite, CRAWFISH). I knew crawfish season ends in early July but I took a chance. Wow they were mushy and discolored inside. I did not eat any of them. Afterwards I tried spring rolls, they were tough and unseaoned. Then I tried the steak. It was over cooked and tough. At this point I'm getting tired of experimenting to find something good. I attempted once more. I tried lo mein and veggie fried rice. They both were dry and unseasoned. I saw that they had sushi and hibachi but I was tired of trying at this point. If you eat there......be careful of what you choose. read more

Not sure about those previous reviews about it being horrible and dirty. Reminds me of every other Chinese buffet with a good selection of dishes, desserts, "sushi", and a hibachi grill where you can make your own dish. I came at 12:30 and everything was replenished promptly and was hot. Guess it helps to arrive during prime lunch and dinner hours. Also, $6.99 for lunch is pretty cheap. Tupelo is jam packed with eateries, and with so many options, one would automatically assume a location's popularity to be indicative of quality. Right? New China Buffet seems to be a pretty popular establishment, so I decided to dine there earlier this evening. Let's just cut to the chase: tuna salad sushi rolls and McDonald's style chicken nuggets. That's what we're dealing with here. I know that most Chinese buffets run somewhere along these lines, but occasionally, one will be pleasantly surprised by a particular buffet. Well, this isn't one of those buffets. It's 50% cheap, frozen American food that's been reheated and 50% sub-par Asian cuisine. I was so excited to see crispy shrimp on the buffet (with the heads in tact, even!), but alas, they were soggy and bland. They had a tub of blue-colored noodles labeled "kimchi," and the fried rice was a surreal neon-yellow color. I mean, I'm fully aware that you don't go to a Chinese buffet expecting authentic cuisine, but I was wishing for mediocrity by the time I was finished. There is no buffet etiquette here. Patrons stand around, slack-jawed, gawking at the greasy, sugary offerings while staff is running around pushing large carts through the buffet area, making it even more difficult to peruse. I've been to many buffets in my life, and this was not a typical experience. This store wouldn't give me the managers number, so I called Corinth. He said "they weren't allowed to bring out those items, except for certain times".
