Two stars because it may be OK for to go, BUT WARNING: Do not plan a dine in experience. The food was OK. I was disappointed in their vegetarian (tofu/bean curds) options. I usually get Home Style Bean Curd or something like that, but all they had was Orange Tofu and that sauce is always too sweet for me. Decent pricing on food, not drinks. Generous portions. Ambience gets negative points. You have to basically PLEAD to be able to sit inside. No service. They say "To Go only" and makes it sound like a favor they will let you sit there to eat their food. Refused us even a glass of water. They wanted $2.25 / bottle of water when all we wanted was tap. Everything was packaged to go...so no plates, garbage plasticware. It was quite difficult to eat. The dumplings are all thick dough with very little meat inside. The soup container had a crack in it so by the time we got home, the broth was all over the bottom of the bag. We were staying with my cousin Terry who lives just outside of downtown Honesdale. They wanted to go out to dinner and they decided on this spot. They are friends with the owners and it is their go to Chinese food spot in town. They start you out with water and tea as well as a couple of bowls of fried wonton strips and a sweet and sour dipping sauce. I decided to go with a combination plate which included sweet and sour pork and chicken, an egg roll, fried rice and hot and sour soup. My portion of it was $10.95 and it was a decent amount of food for the price. The sweet and sour chicken was breaded nicely and tasted great. The fried rice had minimal peas in it and was a bit dry like I like it. The egg roll was really good too. The wrapper was more thick and bready than I am used to, but the egg rolls filling and texture was great! Hot and sour soup was tasty too. Almost everyone else at the table got some kind of duck dish. Total for 8 of us was just over $115.00. Not bad..not bad at all! I would definitely come back if I lived in the area. Finally a decent Chinese restaurant in the area. We've eaten here now twice and have been pleased both times. My husband a dedicated chow mein found fan thinks their chow mein is just about perfect. The veggies are cooked to perfection, not too crisp, not to limp. And the chicken in the chow mein is cut thin which is how he likes it. On this most recent trip I had the double wonder dish which was great. It was a little spicy which was perfect. The veggies again were cooked perfectly. The fried rice was amazing. In this area there are few choices for Chinese food. There are two buffets that are really bad, (as in Ptomaine poisoning) and the China Castle which is good. The menu has the usual fare that you would find in most Chinese restaurants. The portions are good and so is the food which is prepared to order.
