Caught up with siblings and spouses at Overboards near my brother's cabin in Poconos. So many options and lots of seafood apps and mains as well as steaks and Italian classics. The most reasonable prices I have seen on a menu in months! Our server Lisa was a dynamo and a very nice young man took our drink order. Oysters from Virginia were good. Salmon on hash browns app was large. I thought my husband's flank steak was best main. Scallops were fresh but the Thai mango sauce was a bit too sweet. Others enjoyed chicken and seafood stew. Old pine boards made a cozy setting. All six of us enjoyed.

Just went back with family visiting, and again everything was fantastic. Our server was great, helpful and very attentive and kind. The food was excellent. I forgot to take a picture of the calamari appetizer but it was delicious. Tasted so fresh we felt like we were at a beach town. You really can't go wrong choosing Overboards.

What a delightful find in the Poconos! Fresh, delicious seafood near Lake Ariel. Great ambiance, flawless service and perfectly seasoned food at a reasonable price. Don't miss out on a wonderful dining experience!

Fried mozzarella triangles can you see them?

Terrible I'm so disappointed!!! Last time we went it was delicious. This time the fried mozzarella is smothered in prefabbed sauce and mush. I'm not quite sure what the salad dressing is. My steak was supposed to be burnt. It's hardly cooked. Terrible just terrible. I can't believe the diffence. Honestly nasty !

Long lost friends got together tonight at Overboards. Reservations for 6pm. Seated immediately, hostess brought menus. Our server, Emma, we prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I highly recommend this establishment for everyone to enjoy. The food was fabulous.

Food and service was excellent. The facility could use a little TLC but don't let that keep you from going!

We dropped by the best restaurant in the Wallenpaupack area for a quick dinner before getting to the lake. As always a very warm welcome from Chris, and another great evening. I had the Ossobuco, which I've had so many times because it's so delicious. The service and food is spot on. Thank you.

The food was incredible! Hands down, the best lobster I have ever had. It was so tender that I didn't even need to dip into the butter once. The fillet mignon was also done very well. The French onion soup was amazing. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant as well. Loved it, only good things to say, and I recommend it to everyone in the area!

    Simply perfect!

She saw this on Yelp and told me they had gyros, so I was in. It's a bit off the interstate, but not deterringly so. As we walked up, the place looked deserted (and now I was hungry, and to that, get behind me apprehension). The young lady behind the make-shift to go counter was delightful; I was pretty well taken aback by the mismatch of desertion meets cheerfulness. The paradox was resolved when she explained we were in a resort area (I imagined the kind of folk from Dirty Dancing frequenting a nearby body of water nearby over summers), and here we were come late December. As for the food: the gyro was pretty run-of-the-mill, but good. And this is coming from a gyro snob who's been all over (in case you're wondering, the best was found at a now defunct place called Yianni's Wraps in Jackson, Mississippi...think Seinfeld's soup Nazi but a Greek guy who espoused the virtues of drinking ouzo warm, melting cheese to the bottom of the inside of a pita with a blow torch before piling in meat, and finally, that he did not serve fries, but rather sliced, cooked, potatoes with Adriatic Sea salt, but I digress). The fries (which this establishment does indeed serve), were exceptional, I'd recommend trying two different styles, though I forget which ones we had. The aspect that sticks out most is the value. We obtained a bounty for a pittance.

Let's start with the obvious: this is supposedly a chop house. So how do you mess up the steak? I ordered medium and it came out rare, poorly cut, and completely flavorless. No crust, no seasoning, no care. It's impressive, honestly you have to actively try to make a steak this sad in a restaurant that literally has "chop house" in the name. Not worth the price for sure. The menu reads like someone threw darts at a culinary map. Sicilian kimchi? Why? The carpaccio had all the excitement of wet paper. The Caesar salad was wilted and bland. The onions and mushrooms were somehow both greasy and watery at the same time, an impressive feat of culinary confusion. The veal pasta was so aggressively lemony it tasted like someone dropped a bottle of Pledge into the pan. Then there was the whitefish special with chips that felt like a bizarre, half-hearted attempt to acknowledge the Jewish holiday. As a Jew, if that was the intention, it came across more like a punchline than a tribute. Presentation across the board looked rushed and sloppy. The real question is: who is the chef and what exactly are they doing back there? Because if your entire concept is a chop house and the steak is the worst part of the meal, something has gone very wrong. Gresham Chop House has great service, which is honestly the only reason this experience wasn't a complete disaster. But the kitchen needs a serious identity check, and maybe a salt shaker.

One could spend hours looking at the incredible shadowboxes, model trains, war memorabilia, movie displays, model ships, etc, not to mention the Dunder Mifflin gift shop! The food, however, is another story. The menu is large and varied and has some delicious appetizers (particularly the Bang Bang Srimp and the Crab Balls--addictive) and entrees too, but the very pricey stars of the menu leave much to be desired. The "Just Seafood" entree looks mouthwatering by description and costs forty effing dollars, but I'm being completely honest when I tell you everything on that plate was drier than a popcorn fart. The dish comes with shrimp, scallops, and lump crab meat. The best thing on the plate was the THREE scallops they provided. The crab was genuinely the worst, driest crab I've ever had. Worse than low-quality frozen snow crab at Red Lobster or the grocery store. The shrimp was overcooked and pathetically seasoned with a light sprinkle of paprika (which fell mostly on one shrimp and none of the others). I had to salt my own food at the table because everything was flavorless. All in all, if you're in Scranton because you like The Office, stop here and have some CHEAP starters and drinks, grab some cool Dunder Mifflin merchandise at the gift shop, and enjoy all the awesome art they have at Coopers. Pay no mind to their expensive seafood, it sucks. Service: the waitstaff are lovely, friendly and attentive. They're great and deserve praise!
