We went for lunch. I had pork lo mein and my wife had sesame chicken. It was an incredible value for $7.55. We got an entire styrofoam plate of food, with a pint of soup and a fortune cookie. I've never had Chinese food that was THIS BAD. I guess if a person likes 2" large uncooked chunks of basically RAW zucchini, onions and green peppers mixed with sparse fragments of chicken , with a few peanuts thrown on top this might be for you... that is what China Chef is calling Kung Poi Chicken. We ordered take out for a few people, the rice was TERRIBLE, also ordered the grossest egg rolls truly THE WORST i've ever had!!! Egg roll garbage rolls fried to nearly burnt worthy of being dumped in the trash!! . I took a couple bits of the King Poi and also of the rice and a bite of the egg roll and THREW IT IN THE GARAGE CAN!!! I don't usually write reviews but I just had to this time!! Any place in Acworth would have been better than China Chef!!! Next time take out will be Panda Express where things are always good as expected, and it's never a disappointment. Ya'll at China Chef need to be embarrassed of the food you are putting out. People work to hard for their money to throw it in the trash!! Should have followed my gut on this one... They say fried rice but really it's just brown rice. This place used to be my favorite Chinese place. I don't know what happened but I've never been more disappointed. The last 5 times I've ordered I keep hoping the last bad time was a fluke. Well, I don't think it's a fluke anymore after ordering tonight. I got tasteless food and stale Chinese cookies. It was worst than horrible. Even the wonton soup taste like water. I will never ever order from this place again. Whoever is running it now doesn't know what their doing or no longer cares. Their Ma Po Tofu is excellent!! Tell them to cook your order with white sauce if you are gluten free. I am allergic to gluten & I have the hardest time finding great tofu dishes that are also gluten free. Great vegetarian options. If you are gluten free, replace the brown sauce in this dish with white sauce!! read more

I've been coming to this place for years. It's cheap and very delicious. I alternate between two things, either the general tso chicken or the sesame seed chicken. There are always the same people working and they're very friendly and give extra fortune cookies when you ask. I've even got my boyfriend and my friends hooked on this place, even though it's a bit of a drive from my area. Superb food. Very mediocre. Edible but most of it had no flavor. Egg drop soup....bland. Tasted like hot gelatinous water. Pork Fried rice tasted like it was straight out of a box with frozen bits of pork. Spicy shrimp was fantastic, teriyaki chicken was good. "Fried rice" is, well, steamed brown rice. I can steam rice myself. I was really looking forward to some fried rice with veggies and egg tossed in. Will definitely return but won't get " fried rice" again. read more

This is one of those chinese places thay serves sweet and sour chicken with some sesame seeds on it, and calls it sesame chicken. I hate that. Im sure they do the same with their orange chicken. I see many a nice soccer mom picking up takeout here as well-- but the only beauty supply, fried chicken spot, black barber shop, and family dollar are all in this 3 block stretch. Ordered take out on 072212. Braided Wings with House Fried Rice. Ate all the wings and was a few bites nearing the end when I crunched down on a piece of glass!!!! It was greenish like a old coke bottle and about as small as the rice. Went to the restaurant and got insurance information from Lin (Manager?). The guy didn't even offer a refund!!!!
