Four stars for the very best veal parm any restaurant has ever served me. Four stars for their consistency. I've been to the two locations (Acworth and Calhoun) on several occasions, always order the veal parm. It's always fantastic. The veal is very well seasoned and tender enough to cut with a fork. Every single time!! Four stars due to the lack of greeting every time I've been there. Four stars because the servers tell you they'll be right back with something but you have to continuously remind them. Great ambiance in both locations. The cooks in the kitchen move the food very quickly. It is always served hot. Their servers, however, are what's keeping this from being a five-star review. My advice to the servers, especially when you're NOT busy: 1. Greet the customers as we enter. 2. Be friendly other than when you're taking my order. 3. Fulfill your promises timely. 4. Remember, you are in a service role. Your service directly impacts your restaurant's reputation and repeat customers. I'll keep coming back for the food. I will continue to be critical of the service until it improves. I look forward to the day I can give Doro's five stars. read more

Very nice Italian restaurant, Family atmosphere streamline black-and-white decor. Ordered the lasagna, was definitely made to perfection and enjoyed the garlic knots as well. Service was beyond expectation as our server was always refilling drinks and attempted to the table overall, A+ establishment. read more

I come here all the time. Waiting staff is excellent. Their new location seems very clean, and the food is usually very hard to beat in the local area. I always get either the chicken parm or the cannelloni florentina. Portions are generous, especially with the bread they serve you, which seems almost as addicting as crack cocaine. It really seems like they need a bigger location, though. It's always extremely crowded. read more

We had a disappointing experience. We went for my daughter's birthday and even though this was noted on the reservation, no one acknowledged this at the restaurant. The fried mozzarella was overcooked as was the grouper for my picatta. It was just a completely different experience than what we had come to enjoy in years past and not in a good way. read more

You can find Doro's Italian Restaurant at 3979 S Main St Ste 250 Acworth, GA 30101 - it's near the entrance of a street with a row of shopping on either side in a fairly new development. There's plenty of parking as you drive down the street with some overflow to the left (I think it's a church parking lot but seemed to be unoccupied the Thursday night we visited). The interior features an open kitchen to the right from the main entry with a dining room extending back beneath Italianate archways. There's philodendron emerging on the right that trails up across the ceiling of the main dining room. The menu offers up most of what you would expect from a classic Sicilian restaurant from pizzas to pastas with a few variations thrown in. Prices seemed fairly reasonable. Once seated we were told that garlic knots were on the way - these are baked pizza bread style with crusty surfaces and chewy interiors - the garlic was fairly mild so not quite what you would get a Ippolito's but still very satisfying with the spicy marinara. We were told they had two sauces available, a rich tomato and a spicy marinara - it was indeed spicier than I had anticipated, but also a bit sweet - it do go perfectly with the garlic knots. For dinner we split an order of spaghetti and meatballs (with marinara) and Caesar salads. The salads came with dressing on the side - first time I've received it this way without asking (normally it's dressed prior to being delivered). You get three fairly large meatballs with the spaghetti which was perfectly al dente. The spicy marinara which went perfectly with the knots registered as a bit too sweet on the pasta - go figure. The meatballs were perfect - nice meat blend, juicy yet thoroughly cooked. Service was very good with frequent visits by our server. In all a very pleasant experience and quite satisfying. read more

We have ordered twice here before through Uber and both times the food was delicious so I cannot imagine how it would be going there and getting it fresh instead of takeout. Their mussels appetizer is in a delicious wine and garlic sauce, we also tried their spinach dip appetizer which was delicious with the crispy bread to dip into it. We have gotten the seafood pasta twice already in the wine garlic sauce and both times there were a lot of mixed seafood pieces (we ended up sharing the pasta it is a big portion, with an appetizer, through take-out). We plan on coming here in person next time :) read more

Charming little Italian restaurant near Kennesaw, Ga. Great touch having a cup of marinara sauce served with your bread. So good that I asked for seconds. Arugula salad was delicious with their raspberry dressing. Grouper Francese was delicious with 2 nice pieces of grouper. Server Laken was sweet and attentive. My daughter's cheese pizza looks great however you all may want to rethink the salmon on the menu. I ordered two. The salmon is overcooked and saturated in a gravy like flavorless sauce? Friends think I'm kidding when I say my favorite Italian restaurant -- at least in suburban Atlanta -- is Carrabba's. I'm not! People tend to favor what they knew from their childhood. Spoiled by delicious Italian restaurants in Brooklyn and Queens, I'm likely a tough critic. Doro's is well..... typical of what one gets here. Neither bad nor wonderful. They start you off with a basket of garlic rolls and marinara sauce. Eh. I prefer Italian bread with an olive oil and herb mixture. (Oh wait, that's Carrabba's!) Some dishes, like my husband's chicken valencia come with a side salad. Otherwise, order one a la carte. One large field green salad is plenty for three people to share. The only difference between chicken marsala and valencia is the latter has slices of Italian sausage. Both are okay, if not overly sauced (a common faux pas of local Italian-American restaurants.) The sauce is a bit sweet and the angel hair a bit limp. I prefer al dente. The ambience is fine, service -- at least Sunday between lunch and dinner -- excellent. I also like the wine list with several good choices priced below $30. read more

We selected Doros to celebrate some birthdays and a graduation. It was a great pick! Great service, excellent food. It was a lovely evening. I will be back! We started the evening with drinks and calamari. The portion of calamari was nice and we shared. Couple with the bread it was plenty. Then salads which were ample and lovely. Especially the Greek salad which was a work of art! For dinner, I had the cannelloni florentina and ate my entire meal! It was outstanding! My mother had the veal parmigiana which she raved about. My daughter had fettuccine Alfredo and enjoyed her meal as well. Both my mother and daughter had leftovers. We all saved room for dessert and had coffee (freshly brewed), tiramisu and mini cannolis. I also want to note that my reservation did not French Doro's (even through even though I had a confirmation code from the online reservation platform). There was a very large prom group there when we arrived but they still were very accommodating and gracious. Excellent customer service! read more

Ordered via Delivery App. Chicken Parmigiana. I noted to please add garlic knots. Did they? Nope. Pasta was boring. Sauce had no seasoning it was suuuuuuper bland. Chicken Parmigiana was under seasoned and 1 of the cutlets was a bad cutlet. Felt like I was biting into a large gristle, couldn't eat it. The Doro's Pie was good. Very disappointed in the chicken parm and the fact that you don't get garlic rolls with delivery. We pay more to get less. read more

I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and my date had the seafood cannelloni. The flavor in both dishes was delightful. The shrimp were large with tail on in the fettuccini Alfredo, so they packed a punch. The cannelloni came piping hot. The strawberry cheesecake was a tad on the sweet side, but still good. The portions were big. I'll likely make 3 meals out of my fettuccini. We dined on the patio which was spacious with nice patio lights and a fire pit. The service was super fast, which is normally a great thing, but in this case, we got our entrees before we finished our cocktails and appetizers. They served the bottle of wine but didn't pour out first glasses. The Parmesan was the stuff you get at a pizza joint in the shakers. The black pepper was table pepper. I was hoping for the fresh grated Parmesan or cracked back pepper from a pepper mill, but that wasn't the case. I'd go back here in the future, with adjusted expectations. This spot is the best place in the area for Italian food. Everything is delicious and freshly, lovingly made. The sandwiches, the salads, the pasta, the pizzas: all are excellent. I've never had a bad meal there. The portions are well-sized, so it's a good value. The garlic knots are unbeatable. As of this writing, the dining room is now open. Terrific customer service, clean environment, family business. Great stuff. Parking in front of the restaurant is limited, but there is a big parking lot if you drive past the strip of stores; it's just a few moments' walk into the place. They also have a great patio. My first attempt to try this restaurant and found the Extra Large Meat Lover's pizza to be lacking in Pepperoni, sausage, salami, ham and bacon. See the photo attached that shows there is NO Salami, No ham and crumps of bacon, the Pepperoni was sparse and the pizza was dry and under cooked. The cashier needs additional training on politeness. My first inclination was to send it back...instead I'll have my say and vote with my future money. Not up to the expectations at all. The price, and tip were well above what was served. read more

Our server was great! The restaurant is inviting. The calamari was chewy and my grandkids enjoyed the fried cheese, garlic knots and Caesar salad were good. We had veal piccata, spaghetti with marinara, cheese ravioli with marinara and fra diavolo. Pasta was cooked al dente but all the dishes were drowning in sauce. First visit since this has been Doro's (it was another place years ago). We ordered a pizza and it was good: 1/2 & 1/2 medium (wife likes veggy; I like the meaty). Nice crust with lots of crumbly Parmesan. Good little complimentary bread knots too. They have a full bar as well & Blue Moon on draft for $5, so wife also was glad for that. Though it wasn't quite icy cold, it was sufficient. Tea decently priced at $2.50. We hope to return for some of the Italian dinner selections. read more
