Been going to this place for many years and can't believe I have never reviewed it before. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. We have tried quite a few but always come back to China City. The food is fresh and tasty, portions are large and orders are ready when they tell you. Family that runs it is wonderful. They were closed during a good portion of Covid and we struggled to find an acceptable replacement. Absolutely delicious!!!! My favorite Chinese restaurant in Parsippany and maybe even Morris County. The chicken lo mein in very tasty, beef and broccoli is deliciously tender and they have tasty scallops and crab sticks which are hard to find and so worth the drive to get. Wow. What a disappointment. After reading good reviews, I stopped in and ordered a lunch special of Sesame Chicken. Served hot at my table, it was a good sized portion but was over cooked and the dark meat chicken was dry. Such a simple dish to get right. The sauce was fine but it was hard to piece each piece with my metal fork. Not ever returning. PS, not happy that I was told my $8.75 lunch is to be paid with cash! Cards only for $10 and up. This place used to be amazing. They went downhill over the last few years (even before covid). The last meal I got general tso chicken and it was definitely NOT chicken. I've been ordering from this place longer than I can remember. Today I had an order delivered and it was the wrong order. No big deal, I understand mistakes happen. I called them to let them know and I couldn't believe the response. Apparently I am a liar and I had no idea what I ordered . The lady was extremely rude. I understand mistakes happen but be accountable for them. My girlfriend was standing with me when i made my order and I was pretty clear. But according to them, I was a liar and I was wrong. Really, it's a 7 dollar dish, if they wanna be cheap about things then forget them. I told them how disappointed I was at them and they lost my business. I used to be a HUGE fan of this spot growing up, but unfortunately it's not even half as good as it used to be nowadays. I got the Kung Pao Chicken - meat is all rubber and the veggies are just huge chunks of carrots and celery. I probably won't go here again and won't recommend it in the future. read more
