    42. Fried Pork Buns
    Victoria S.

Cozy eatery that offers the taste of Northwestern Chinese cuisine. Appetizers include Chinese style burgers (rojamo), dumplings in vinegar soup, buns and pancakes. They specialize in hand pulled noodles (in soups or sautéed) as well as stir fry entrees. We shared their fried pork buns (shenjen bao), house special fried hand pulled noodles, vegatable fried hand pulled noodle, and their spicy fish fillets. The buns were crispy on the bottom and juicy, but meat luckily wasn't too fatty. The fish was mild, flaky and cooked in lots of ginger and scallion. The house hand pulled noodles had tripe, beef and fried egg pieces. Or was not too salty or oily. Same with vegetable noodles. Noodles had a good springy texture and came with scissors to cut into smaller shreds. Everything here had good flavor depth and seasoning.

We ordered pick up on a Saturday night, and it took them around 35 minutes to have it ready, which is fairly normal, considering the restaurant was packed to the brim. The restaurant itself is fairly small, with a long table in the middle if you have a large party, but beware that it takes time to get a table there. The food was good, but nothing magnificent nor particularly special. We got some pork dumplings, handspun noodles, scallion pancake, and fried noodles. The scallion pancake was okay, not very good but it could be because it was takeout, which made it a bit chewy as it was a bit cold. The dumplings were okay, not the best I've had and definitely pretty average. The noodles were also okay. The cumin lamb was definitely different, but not outstanding. I did enjoy the spicy ground pork noodles, but they were very oily which came to take a toll on me as I finished eating. Overall, I think it's nice to give it a try, and maybe the food is even better if you dine in.

    Braised beef noodle soup

We came here at the recommendation of a shop keeper in Boonton. We got their steamed dumplings, beef pancakes and braised beef noodle soup. Of the lot, the dumplings were the best. The wrappers were lovely and chewy and filling was flavorful. The beef pancakes were good enough though I could have done with less sauce (or just put the sauce on the side). The broth in the braised beef noodle soup was a bit on the bland side, it seemed to be over reliant on the spiciness for flavor. The noodles were thick and chewy and beef was very tender. Word to the wise though, if you're a fellow cilantro hater, make sure to ask for no cilantro.

Maybe they used to be really good, but lately the hand-drawn noodle soup just doesn't have much flavor or depth. The minced pork noodle soup was decent, but the braised beef noodle soup was pretty disappointing -- bland, watery, and the beef had no flavor. We also tried the wontons in chili oil, which were just okay. On the bright side, the service was very friendly.

Great new discovery. Small, strip mall restaurant with very good food. Nice assortment at a reasonable price. Courteous, friendly service. We would definitely go back.

Tucked away among a cluster of Chinese grocery stores, this cozy street-side gem offers a true taste of Xinjiang right here in the States. The chef and staff welcome you with warm hospitality, making the experience even more enjoyable. Their hand-pulled noodles are as authentic as it gets--bold, flavorful, and rich with tradition. Whether you go for the tender beef, succulent lamb, or the legendary Big Plate Chicken, you're in for a satisfying, spice-infused feast that transports you straight to the heart of Northwest China.

Such a gem. Always greeted by friendly service. Wide range of a selection and delicious bubble tea! We tired vegetable fried noodles (hand pulled), Kung pao, and pot stickers. All highly recommended!

I've heard a lot of great things about this place, so when I happened to be in the area, I made sure I finally checked it out and I'm so glad that I did. I went on a late Saturday afternoon, so the wait wasn't too long. I bet it was probably busier during the actual lunch time. My friends and I got the following: #16 - spicy ground pork over hand-pulled noodles #44 - scallion pancake Noodle #2 - beef with hand pulled noodle soup They were all very good, but we really liked the spicy ground pork dish. We actually wanted to try the wide noodles, so we actually ordered just some of them plain and mixed them with the leftover spicy pork sauce. It actually tasted better with the wide noodles. I usually always add hot oil to my food whenever I get a chance, but the spicy ground pork had a perfect kick to it, so didn't need the hot oil at all. However, the one dish I was surprised and really liked was the complimentary side dish of a cucumber salad, made with very simple seasonings according to our server. It was soooooo good and went so well with all the dishes and added freshness to the rich food we were eating. My friend even ordered some to take home, which was around $6/$7 (can't remember exact price). If you do go, don't skip the cucumbers. Not a fancy or big place, but the turn over is pretty quick because the service is fast, so food comes out very quick. If you're in the area and you want good food, this is a place you must stop by. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes.

Beef with Hand Pulled Noodle Soup. Little more in price now which is understandable.

Wonderful small restaurant that offers their unique fresh hand pulled noodles. The owner is extremely friendly and very accommodating for the first timers. What a gem to have in this area since it's surrounded by a few good Chinese restaurants. Highly recommended

The beef pancakes were the highlight. Flavorful, tender, crispy. The spicy wontons were decent but heavy on the cilantro flavor that threw the balance off. The cumin lamb noodles were texturally on point but the flavor was one note. All you taste is cumin powder. We asked for spicy but the spice was maybe a 2/10. Maybe that's why they added jalapeños (which seems odd for Asian food). Go give them a try and be the judge yourself. ENJOY!!!

Very good hand pulled noodle house. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. We tried the pan fried pork buns which were very good. The cumin lamb with hand pulled noodles was very good but I liked the pork noodle dish better. Will definitely be back.

Good hand pull noodles. A bit on the salty side. The lamb noodle is good and you can ask for extra spicy. Other dishes are average.

The entire floor was so sticky it looked like they mopped it with Coca-Cola instead of commercial-grade floor cleaner. ‍ And the bathroom? Forget about it. Spider webs everywhere, and the sink had so much built-up gunk that I honestly didn't even feel comfortable washing my hands there. At that point, I started wondering: if this is what the customer area looks like, what the hell does the kitchen look like? I ordered the fried chicken, but I couldn't even finish it. Once I saw the condition of the restaurant, I just kept imagining what was going on behind that kitchen door. I'm from Jersey, so I'm used to paying Jersey prices and expecting Jersey attitude--but at least give me a clean place to eat when I'm getting ripped off! I wouldn't recommend this place even to my ex-wife. And believe me, she's been through worse. Save your money and eat somewhere else.

They also have an array of Asian goods (mostly Chinese) like frozen meals, canned products, medicine and cookware. They used to have a bubble tea kiosk, that has changed. It was shut down a long time ago, but the signage with the prices still exist. Can't believe small cup of tea was under $3 and a large was under $4 (will mostly likely never see these prices again). Sadly, overall cleanliness declined over the years. Stores like Whole Foods put effort maintaining equipment, overall appearance and clean standards, so older outposts seem sparkling and orderly.
