I ordered chicken wings, plain, and they sent me wings with this gross, red sauce slathered all over them. The worst part was these were not consistently sized wings. Some weren't even wings, but just a small blob of chicken with a chicken bone broken off. Some looked like boneless wings, but they had a bone in them. They were disgusting. I can't believe they actually packaged this up. They knew what they were doing. It would be one thing if one or two out of the eight were like this, and even that's wrong to do to somebody, but for all 8 to be all misfit, mismatched, reject wings, come on! I can't imagine they serve these terrible wings all day long, so that tells me they used what was left over from the entire day, that they knew a customer would call them out on serving, but gave them to me, knowing that they would close by the time I get these all because they were too lazy to fry new ones. They just didn't care. They ought to be ashamed of themselves serving something like this and it cost $11. I ordered through DoorDash and did not want to complain through DoorDash because my driver was excellent and it wasn't DoorDash's fault that this food is so terrible. However, I left a review on DoorDash. If I would've ordered directly from the restaurant, I would've demanded my money back. Being that it's DoorDash, I'm not going to file a complaint because DoorDash didn't do anything wrong. How dare this restaurant package these disgusting wings up and expect a customer to eat them. I think they took what was left over from the day and threw it in a box for me. I noticed they were closing in 30 minutes. I sincerely hope they don't generally serve this garbage to someone. I may even go in the store and tell them about themselves. I couldn't call them that night because by the time the food was delivered, they were closed. They also tasted awful. I had to throw them away. I won't order from here again. if I could get them zero stars, I would. I only ordered from them because the other places were closed. What a mistake. If I could give this Chinese take out and eat in restaurant 10 stars, I would! PURE EXCELLENCE! and honestly I don't just say it for the food. What makes this restaurant so unique is who they are as individuals, the plus is the excellent food. While the food is flavorful, you can also tell by one bite how clean and fresh it is. On several occasions our family has ordered Sesame Chicken which had a perfect crunch but not overly crispy, Seafood delight a light, healthy and fresh entree that went great with their white rice, their crab Rangoon is flavorful, the chicken wings are perfectly spiced and fried in clean oil, beef with broccoli, boneless spare ribs and pepper steak, ALL completely on point and irresistible. Overall excellence! Another perk to this location is that they offer Lunch Specials 7 DAYS A WEEK for $6.35 which also includes a free soda. This is a family owned and run business, you can tell right away when you walk in, you'll see the grandmother walking around and at times even praying in a traditional way. She'll occasionally look over at the customers and give the kindest smile. Their kids come after school and sit at one of the tables to do homework or play, and eat food with their family. I have always gotten take-out from this restaurant, as it is close to home. It also doesn't really have the greatest accomodations for eating in. A couple of tables with chairs, but the lighting in the restaurant is very bright and just not very cozy for sitting down to a meal. However, the food is good. What I get each time varies, and this time I went with a suggestion from the guy up front when I said I wanted something spicy. It wasn't spicy at all, but I have come to expect that these days. The food here is exactly what you would expect out of a Chinese restaurant that has the same marquee menu as every other Chinese restaurant in the country. It isn't bad, but there is nothing truly exceptional about it. About the only thing of interest that is different about this restaurant compared to all of the others is that I have been able to witness the growth of their children at what is effectively their permanent table over in the corner. They have started going to school now, and when you go in they are very often sitting there doing their homework instead of playing games on their handhelds. read more

Really similar in taste and price to the chinese restaurant in the millhopper plaza off 53rd, so if you're by the Wal-Mart and care for some Chinese, then this is a decent, fairly priced restaurant. I will say that the inside is very clean and there are about four tables which you can dine insise should you choose. The food comes out quickly. I ordered the general Tso's chicken which was nothing spectacular and I asked for it spicy, but it was anything but. The broccoli was quite fresh, so I liked that they addes veggies. read more

What a lovely surprise it was to stumble across the China Express website, and to discover that they deliver (for the huge sum of $2 per order) within a 5 mile radius of their store. From the get-go, browsing their well designed website, selecting some of our favorite dishes, and checking out, the ordering experience was among the best we've found. They ask for up to an hour for delivery, but our food arrived within 40 minutes, which worked out well for us. Prices were about the same as we've been paying through the "big boy" delivery services, but the overall bill was lower because we didn't encounter their mysterious raft of service charges. Now to the main event - the food! As mentioned, we ordered some of our favorite dishes, as is our custom when checking out a new Chinese place. Spouse proclaimed his Chicken Mei Fun to be outstanding, I give high marks to my roast pork Lo menu, but the real winners were the most excellent egg drop soup and our shared order of sauteed Chinese veggies. In the latter there was a good variety of veg (broccoli of course, snow peas, mushrooms, white and green onions, water chestnuts, and more in a well-seasoned dark sauce), very different from my last experience at a not-to-be-named neighborhood place where what was allegedly the same dish consisted of broccoli and bland sauce :-( . The only thing I would hesitate to order again was the egg roll - a bit too much wrapper and not terribly tasty interior - next time I'll save the calories the other yummy options. NOTE: they do not do "no contact," but have you sign the receipt when on delivery. The delivery person, however, was masked and wearing a t-shirt with the words China Express. attention customers : if you have any kind of allergy and ask specifically for your stuff a certain , these people do what they want. im allergic to shrimp and asked for the rice to be separated from my meat and they still put the items together. i asked for a refund and she said that for me to receive a refund, she has to send the driver back for the food and when he arrives back to the restaurant that they will process the refund and that just sounds like a scam !!! nasty attitude plus no assurance that yiur food would come exactly how you asked for it , dont order from here !!! i repeat , do not order from this restaurant !!! no customer service , they suck !!! read more

Great lunch specials with a free soda.. what's not to love.. one of my favorite places that delivers a quick low cost lunch. Typical strip mall Chinese but with friendly staff. Stopped by on a whim because we were hungry and they had our takeout order ready in about 5 minutes. The chicken lo mein was different than most (green beans added) and SOOO tasty!! Tried to order delivery......delivery person could not find my house even though it is clearly listed in GPS and no one has ever had a problem? The food was delicious! It was delivered hot and everything we ordered was there! Ordered the Hot & Sour Soup which was very tasty. Also ordered the Pork Egg Foo Young Combo. It was delicious and an abundant amount. The Egg Rolls weee hot and crispy. Also ordered the Cashew Chicken which was delicious and a very generous amount. Overall would recommend trying out China Express. Apparently it is a local family owned and operated business.......not a chain or franchise. This is our go to spot when we work late or too tired to cook. It really helps that they are really close to us in Northwood Pines. They are quick, they deliver, you can always count on the food being hot, the noodles whether it be chow mein or chow fun are good as is the Crab Rangoon. If you just want an inexpensive low-key Chinese meal, this is your spot. Note: I miss Hong Kong Deli soooooooo much. They were my go to. I'd give anything to have them back, however, I don't think they're coming back and I doubt that they would deliver it to my side of town off the 441. But I still miss them! read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! My boyfriend and I ate here on Friday and got the pork fried rice with one of our dishes and he has been in the hospital from food poisoning so bad it gave him a stomach infection. I called to try and let them know and they kept switching the phone off to each other and did absolutely nothing and didn't even apologize. Such a shame. My husband and I walked in to very quick service and the smell of cigarettes wafted through the store. The food itself was undercooked, fatty, and bland. I do recommend the dumpling sauce but other than that do not recommend. read more
