I used to love this place growing up. I moved away and came back... and it was awful. Something changed recently. This tastes like my childhood but better. The Chicken Almond tastes better than the version they had in 1990s-2000s. I almost cried eating it. Dad got the Beef Cashew and it was excellent. Crab Ragoon was excellent. Large chunks of meat - if you prefer the mostly cream cheese and powdered cheese version, you may not be excited. Me? LOVED IT. 10/10 read more

This is the best Chinese restaurant in Bryan by far. I've been eating from this restaurant since I was a child 15 year ago. The owner knows our family's order. Been to every Chinese food restaurant in a 60 mile radius. China garden is better by far. Crab Rangoons are best around. Seriously, give them a try. Not your standard "cisco foods" frozen delivery super tough breaded junk. These appear home made and very fresh. Fried rice is as fried rice should be. Brown, not yellow. Personally tried their sweet & sour chicken, generals tsos chicken, pepper steak, walnut shrimp, chicken and beef fried rice, and lo mein. All were great. The chicken is all white meat and never tough. (Overcooked tough dark meat chicken is a problem I've run into at most the other Chinese restaurants around.). The portions are generous and prices reasonable. Most reliable consistent place to eat in town. Has turned into my favorite dining out experience. read more

Worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. We've lived here for 6 years and eaten at this location only a few times because it just isn't the best. We will travel to other cities to get Chinese because it just never seems too pleasing. In an emergency, when we need food but don't have time or energy to run down the road 30 minutes we will order here. Maybe 10x in 6 yrs. Tonight we ordered at 8PM on a Thursday. It was ready quick, but, very disappointing in almost every way. We called to complain and were offered 1/2 off our next meal. What about the $30 we wasted tonight? The Ginger Garlic Shrimp was tasteless. NO ginger or garlic flavor. It was about 6 tiny pieces of shrimp on a giant bed of barely cooked bamboo shoots. No other veg present. And 1/2 of the plate was supposed to be steamed rice somehow morphed into a mushy brown (fried?) Rice that resembled cat food and didn't taste much better. Then, the Sesame Chicken (which we have ordered in the past) arrived with steamed white rice and was pink. It had zero sesame and looked like some old sweet and sour was mixed into the dish. The flavor was super strange and the chicken was rubbery and tough. It made us wonder if they had thrown a leftover sweet and sour meal into the mix. They told us that was their normal way to serve everything. Hmmm! I guess we just got taken. I don't care if I could get a free meal I never intend to try that again. Sitting here at a quarter past nine extremely hungry and in this little town...no place to go. Thanks for nothing China Garden. read more

I'm sorry Bryan. I had hoped for something more here. I'm not from a big town either, Alabama. Based upon what I read I expected much from this location. I've had much better in small towns. Hot and sour soup was too thick in my opinion but had good taste. Chicken and beef lo mein had no taste at all. I got this to go and did not get eating utensils and didn't even get a fortune cookie. I get back to my room and go to front desk and they don't even have a fork. Hard to hear lo mein with a spoon, but didn't matter only ate the very little meat I could find. Had I not already eaten Mexican this week I would have done that instead. Maybe it will be better next time. Staff is friendly and accommodating. read more

Very poor quality even for American-Chinese. Dumpling soup, as a side with the meal, was no more than broth made from chicken bouillon and one dumpling. The dumpling was like a stale flour pocket with a speck of meat dust inside. Had the mu shu pork and it wasn't terrible but far from good. The white rice was nice. The environment is terrible which wouldn't be bad if something was good. The waitress seemed as if she had no clue what Chinese food was. I understand this is a small town but there is just no reason to give it a better review. read more

Granted a small Chinese food restaurant in a small town in Bryan, Ohio shouldn't be compared to its big city cousins, but with this place could be so much more with better cooking and recipes. I ordered my favorite soup, Hot & Sour soup, but I had to send it back. I tried the tried & true Won Ton, but it was served look warm, with a stale wan ton. The chicken and broccoli special was terrible. The broccoli was ok, but the chicken tasted bland, processed, tasteless, and poorly cooked. Even the fortune cookie served with the check was super tiny and stale. However the service was fast and friendly. read more

Unfortunately the original owner/Chef of CG moved a few years ago. CG is now inconsistent and at best average.

Nice enough place, friendly people there, if you go on a regular they remember you and the food is acceptable. I personally order the Almond Chicken in white rice and have a Egg Roll. The soups are...meh... Okay place if you like the usual commercial Chinese food. read more

Had a meal at the china Garden tonight. Had egg drop soup which to me was not very good. The wait staff are very nice and polite, which goes a long way in enjoying your food. The hot tea is my favorite drink at the china garden. I had the yang chow and it was average. Not bad tasting. For a small town, i believe it is a nice place and of course i will go back again for the fortune cookies and the hot tea. read more

A favorite among locals. This isn't fine dining but it does have traditional flavors. We always get the lunch combination meals which are very economical and you get a good amount of food. Dining inside you tend to get larger portions than the carry out containers. Most of the waitstaff tend to be locals and not real knowledgeable about the food but the menus are pretty self-explanatory. read more

The fried rice was nothing but boiled brown rice my husband got fried shrimp and it was nothing but thick Breading with tiny tiny shrimp . It was just a waste of time money . I told them I was unhappy and dident eat mine and she was rude and gave me a dollar off . I would not waste ur money or lunch hour to go eat at such a bad place . You can tell they just make quick and cheap bad food and charge high prices and my husband wanted coffee it was instant . read more
