The 3.5 star rule does not apply, service was solid, unfortunately food wasnt the best, even for buffet food, the Japanese chicken was alright, beef and broccoli was awkward and the General Tso's chicken wasnt terrible, the egg rolls were stale, the crab cheese puffs werent terrible. No orange chicken... -1 star Soups were watery and weren't as flavorful as they could've been. Sushi was mid, rice was hard and fish was fine. In terms of price @ 16.50 per person and 5.99 for a two year old,id say itd be fairly priced if it wasn't styrofoam, plates, bowls and cups. Restaurant presentation could be managed a bit better in my opinion. Overall i think theres a lot that could be improved upon. They serve frog legs if thats what you're into. Another restaurant that's gone downhill since Covid. You eat off paper or styrofoam plates and they used to make you wear plastic gloves so you could serve yourself food. The buffet food is always cold. My last visit there we went for my son's birthday and I myself found a dead fly in my food. The young man was really apologetic but the what I'm assuming one of the owners started bitching in her language when I showed them the dead fly. I didn't have to pay for my meal but they were wanting to have my wife and sons pay for theirs with only 2-3 bites eaten off their first serving. Refused to pay for the extra plates and the owner erupted with anger. Many years ago, long before covid, this was one of my favorite restaurants. Well, all good things must come to an end I guess. As of March 2025, it's not worth the increase in price at over $15 per person. They STILL (since covid began) provide only styrofoam plates and tiny plastic utensils. What buffet does that? The food is mediocre and they got rid of the entire right side buffets, which is half the food they used to have. I was blowing my nose and sneezing so bad I had to tell my kid we gotta go. Depends on the day and time you come. Food is cold and definitely not fresh if you go through the week for early dinner. Then they are charging more than they did before COVID and had both buffets with food options. I have understood during and some after COVID the prices and not having all stations open with food as before but I'm done. They raised the price for a buffet that doesn't offer same options as before COVID, still using paper plates, plastic silverware and styrofoam cups and we are paying double. If enough people in Culpeper complained maybe they would go back to the great Buffett they were when they opened. So when I sat down to eat here I was optimistic. The variety was pretty good and the sushi looked good. I made my plates and sat down. The food was excellent from the Sushi to the fried rice and General Tso's. All the buffet food was prepared well and wait staff could not have been more attentive. Someone told us that Almond Cookies were a highlight. They were but my Granddaughter, Kate , has a serious allergy to any tree nut!. Passed by this place for years and never stopped, not a fan of buffets. I didn't know they did take-out without getting it off the buffet. My daughter ordered some for us today for lunch and brought it back home. We got beef with mixed vegetables, roast pork with mixed vegetables in garlic sauce and shrimp egg food young! Everything was tender, very flavorful and delicious! The only problem was the egg foo young gravy, I think they gave us brown sauce because it wasn't like any gravy I've had with egg foo you. We live 20 minutes away and the food was still too hot to eat when we got it home! I don't want to give them 5 stars based on my first visit, because Chinese restaurants around her have a problem with consistency. While visiting family in the area, we decided to have lunch at this very nice restaurant. An excellent variety of food, always hot and fresh, and a sushi bar with the chef making new dishes all the time. The seating is comfortable and the servers are attentive. The prices are very reasonable. I've been told there's a line outside every Sunday so this is a popular place for the locals. There are a couple other Chinese places in Culpeper but I think this one is the best of them all. If you enjoy Chinese food and love buffets, you might want to check this place out. read more

On my last visit I ordered a lunch special and when the bill arrived I was billed for the three items of the special at a la carte prices, much more than the special price. When I asked about the charges, I was told, in halting English, I owed the higher price because that is what I was served. I requested to pay for the special price but again was told I owed the a la carte prices which was NOT what I ordered. Isn't "the customer is always right' what a good restaurant goes by? Don't judge this place based on its outward appearance, the food is as good as Chinese buffet food gets...esp for Culpeper. The food was fresh & hot, the service was great, there were several employees tending to both the food and customers. Refills were prompt and plates quickly cleared. There is a pretty large selection including lots of seafood & a sushi station. We basically only ate rice, noodles, chicken & broccoli, egg rolls so next visit will def be for takeout. I paid around $40 for myself & 15 y/o which wouldn't have been high if we actually ate most of the available items. I was with a group of 19 with Culpeper Philippine - American Community (CFAC) club on 3 September 2022. I felt like the service was poor, almost disrespectful. The servers were slow to get me a drink, then one server seemed to be watching us - not to be helpful such as getting us drink refills (which they never did) - just watching us. They attempted to charge us for an extra person who was not there. Also, the cashier came to our table to collect the money rather than have us pay at the register as if we were trying to sneak out without paying. The facility was not that clean. My chair felt sticky. I wonder how many bacteria and viruses were crawling on my chair. The food was OK. Literally the best lo mein I've ever had and the only place I get it from. We order takeout and the food is always so fresh, hot, and plentiful - like a ton of food for an average of $8. The Japanese chicken, Peanut chicken, and rangoons are also delicious. They're are go-to items. Before the virus, they offered takeout from the buffet by the pound which is great too if you want a selection of options and not just one dish. Sushi is also pretty good for a buffet. All I have to say is that this place is brutal. I had 35 degree burns on me because I burned myself on the metal bowl that they had food in. And the Broccoli had like bugs in them from not washing them. And I had also gotten chicken but the meat was raw. And they had these chairs for toddlers and I put my 4 year old sisters doll before I did I looks at the seat and there was dried throw up all over the top of the chair. You can tell when Chinese food is extra Americanized when they don't even bother with broccoli in the general tso's, and it's the same reddish goop you get with sweet and sour chicken. Wow, So I took my girls here yesterday for a lunch. put a few shrimp on their plates. Was asked to remove the legs and tail of the shrimp, I looked at it and saw that is was the breaded and fried shrimp. Hum, they fried shrimp that was breaded with the legs, tail and full shell on it. Very strange, I tried to eat on before knowing this and almost started choking on the shell. Not sure if it was a new cook, but I'd hope even a new cook would know not to do that. Disappointed, I wanted there to be a good Chinese restaurant in Culpeper, but have not found one yet. Be care if you eat there, make sure the deep fried and breaded Shrimp doesn't have legs, a tail or shell. They did have a sushi chef preparing rolls for the buffet. No specialty rolls, but covered the basics (e.g. california, tuna, etc.).
