Hong Kong Restaurant is five miles further from my home than two other restaurants, and I have historically gotten Chinese pickup from those other places. I finally gave them a try recently. We got a pupu tray and two entrees with fried rice on the first visit, and another pupu tray and fried chicken wings on the second. The food was outstanding, the prices were lower than the others, and the portions left enough for leftovers on both occasions. It's a small place and not ideal for a night out. The staff was extremely friendly and reminded me to take a free soda with each entree. My wife also loved the food, and we ate every item on pupu (unheard of in my home). I gave a one star before. I don't know what turn around this play did. But let me tell you. We decided to try it again, I don't know why, but we just felt the need and want to try it again. We took a 2nd chance. And the food tasted way better. More portions were given. When we opened up the Togo boxes they were filled to the fullest. We got to combo meals. I ordered the fried rice and sesame chicken. And wife ordered the fried rice and general Tso's Chx. Both combos came with an egg roll each. Total of egg rolls 1 for me and one for her. I walked in to pay and they Mother and son were sooooooo nice and welcoming. My wife read some where it went under new management. And I'm not sure what happened BUT it happened for the better. The son was very professional on the phone, and the mother was super friendly and put in my Togo bag 2 cans of soda with a smile and said for me. This place has earned us coming back for the future now. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NOW. Very Tasty Food, with outstanding amazing Service. I'm glad we decided to try this place out one more time. Because that one time is gunna have us coming back many more time for more in the future. read more

So much better than what it used to be after changing ownership! This is the best Chinese in the area, I'm glad we gave it a shot after a bad experience under the previous owners. Amazing food, great staff, me and my wife loved it! Seems like a little hole in the wall place but staff was very caring and friendly. Been 3 times, their menu is huge for such a small place but each dish thus far has performed great. Those writing negative reviews aren't being fair. First these folks are very nice. Yes their English isn't great but they are always friendly when we go in. The food is always good. I won't say it's the best Chinese I've had as it isn't. But it's far from bad. Very good seems fitting. The not so good is sometimes the wait is longer than they say and if the daughter answers the phone she's a bit hard to understand. The one time the son answered he was also hard to understand. So just exercise some patience, and realize that you're not going to get fine dining. This is a hole in the wall place in rural Va and better most Chinese places. read more

Deceptive pricing - awful customer service. DO NOT USE ONLINE MENU! It's apparently 10 years out of date but they aren't capable of updating it so they screw their customers. They overcharged me by $15 for a dinner for 4. The manager screamed over me as I tried to explain what they did, and when I didn't give in to her, she hung up on me. The restaurant is dingy, the lo mein had 6 tiny pieces of chicken and literally 5 pieces of vegetables. The orange chicken was inedible because it's just all gristle. Sucks because I was really excited to have a meal for take out and even grabbed extra menus for my in-laws and neighbor. Menus are going straight in the trash along with most of what we brought home. Update! The manager screamed at me in the phone and told me to bring the food back for a refund. When I got there, they REFUSED to give me even a portion of my money back. CRIMINALS. Most of what we ordered was fine. Not fantastic but perfectly good Ta Chien chicken, Mongolian beef, and lo mein. The exception was mu shu beef, which wasn't good, had square "pancakes" unlike any mu shu pancakes I've ever seen, and took FOREVER. We stopped in to order; they said it would take 15 min but it actually took 40-45. Portions are large and prices reasonable. read more

I have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant near me and still keep getting let down. I decided to try this place based on all the reviews about how great it is. I am not sure what they ordered but I got chicken and broccoli and it was slimy and had a weird flavor almost like it was spoiled. I got the general tso's and it was ok but not spicy at all. The sesame chicken was similar in flavor to general tso's but with seeds on top. We also got the sweet and sour chicken and pork fried rice and those were good. For the price, I want impressed. If anyone can respond with what items they think are great and worth going out of the way for, maybe I will try the place one more time read more

Best Chinese food in the area. Consistently good food regardless of what you order. The owners are not particularly friendly and can come off as being rude when ordering. .. but the food is good and reasonably priced. This place is really not conducive to dine-in although they do have seating. We don't eat Chinese food that often when in this area but when we do this is where we go. read more

Great Chinese food-- especially for this small area where there's not a lot of choices. Try the Kung Pao or the curry chicken... Don't be generic and order general tsao's... That's boring. Employees are friendly and the restaraunt offers specials when you place a large order. read more

The reviews were good here, so even though I did not have high confidence in them, I thought I would try it. We stopped in, ordered, and waited. They said it would be 10-15 minutes, I think it took 45-50. They said it was because Moo Shi orders take a long time to cook. Why not say that when we ordered then. The Pancakes that came with it were not even MooShi pancakes, they were Wonton wraps. They were hardish and square. They were worthless. Simple suggestion to owners... if you can't make a dish, just take it off the menu. Everyone will be happier. The rest of the order was as follows. 1) the TaChien chicken was surprisingly good. 2). The Mongolian beef was too watery and otherwise blah. 3) the vegetable LoMain was fine, my daughter enjoyed it Would I ever go back. Probably not. If I could I would give it a half star. This place sucked for many reasons. First of all they have a 9 year taking your order over the phone, once you tell her your order she says, is that it & hangs up. When you go to pick up your food, don't be surprised if your order is wrong, they charge the wrong the price & the food is gross. The "crispy" chicken is not crispy & is mixed with tons of undescribable vegetables.I guess Chef Lee in lake Anna has ruined me for Chinese food. Just drive the extra miles & go somewhere else. Not sure what happened tonight compared to the previous reviews, but it was honestly the worse Chinese food we have ever had. The shrimp toast was so burnt tasting it couldn't be eaten, the egg rolls were hard as a rock, and the rest of the food was just so so, a lot of breading and little flavor or meat.
