We got the mango dessert which is now a staple in our household, papaya salad and some spicy chicken + noodles my husband ordered - all FANTASTIC! This was our first time at Saithong Para Thai. The service was spot on & the food was excellent! We started with the Chicken Satay appetizer. It was delicious! I ordered a Thai ice tea and it was just the right amount of sweet to complement the appetizer. My wife had the Masaman Curry with Chicken. I opted for the Drunken Noodles with shrimp. Hers was regular spicey and mine was "" spicy. The curry was delicious but a little spicier than expected. The Drunken Noodles were very tasty and the shrimp was great. I'll turn it down a notch the next time as it was pretty spicy. Great overall experience. Food was great and the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be back. read more

The food here is good, but not the best Thai food I've had. The menu has a good variety of dishes and the prices are a good value. There are hand painted murals on the walls which add some interesting character to the dining room. Portions are on the smaller side, at least with the curry dishes. Note that their medium spicy is very robust so even though I like spicy food I would probably ask for mild next time. The red curry was great with the pineapple adding some sweetness to the dish but even though I ordered medium spicy I was glad I had some Kleenex. At least my sinuses were cleared. The green curry was good but a little bland. Maybe the spices were overpowering the flavor. The chicken satay appetizer was good. I would like to try the noodle dishes next time. Service was good but a little slow as there was only one server. The restaurant isn't huge but almost all the tables were full. Our server was friendly and apologized for the wait. We were not in a rush but we did notice. Also, I did not see any beer, wine or other alcoholic beverages on the menu or in the restaurant. I came across this place randomly hungry for some pad see ew noodles. I saw the good ratings and thought to give it a try. I did carry out but ordered with the lady up front she was very sweet. I got pad see ew with medium spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice for me!! other thai places in my area don't offer to add spice to that dish usually so i loved that. Got carryout for 3, couple pad Thai and some appetizers. Tofu in the pad Thai were greasy sponges, as were the gyoza. The noodles were fine but greasy, there was little egg or chopped peanuts. The few bites with noodle, egg, and peanut were the best and that is why two stars. No other ingredients except a couple giant chunks of scallion. The calamari was very spicy but also not crispy. Chive (chai? We didn't taste either one so not sure) dumplings also greasy but had a light flavor trying to get out. Over 70$ spent for nothing tasty. Overall very disappointing. read more

We ate here when they first opened and the food was very tasty and plentiful. We de ided to try it again. We had calamari (6 small, very tough pieces for $12!!). The chicken Penang curry was flavorful but only a few pieces of chicken. The pork Red curry had a few pieces of pork and lots of big pineapple pieces. The taste was not as i expected. Both came in containers smaller in size than their competition. Both the containers were filled up. Each cost $15. See attached photos. Do not eat here!!! They use a half a pound of sugar for each dish. I don't know how this place is open!!! The owner (Tommy) told me all about it but I don't even think that's legal. Do not eat here especially if you are trying to watch what you eat. Owner also does not like to give refunds even when they mess up! Rude staff, I guess nobody wants to work here. I will just go to the Panda Express when it opens instead. Also their incense hurts my nose. I don't like all the smells and candles inside. read more

Stopped by during our road trip off of I-95. Saw there was Thai food in the area and decided to check it out! We had the spring rolls and papaya salad. Very good and fresh! The papaya salad we got hot spicy and it was really nice and a good spice. The sticky rice was also great! We also ordered the Thai Green Curry with tofu and medium spicy. It was thick and filling with side of white rice. Not as coconuty as I've had it, but very tasty. We ordered the Nam Tok--highly recommend. The cilantro lime adds a nice touch to it. Would probably order it hot spicy next time but it was great quality. The Pad ginger had a great savory sauce and I've never had anything like it before. Really enjoyed that dish! Lastly, we had the Hawaiian Fried Rice (with chicken and without raisins) and really enjoyed that. It was very savory and would order again. The waitress was very nice and everything came out quick. It was very comfortable inside and definitely is a hole in the wall! The prices are amazing. The food was very authentic Thai food and I will stop by there again when I'm in the area! read more

Got the Tom kha soup with shrimp and pad Thai noodles with chicken. The soup portion was generous and I only had a taste of the noodles before having to pack it to go! Th Ye gave me the container and I packed it myself. The soup had a lot of flavor, cleaned shrimp and wonderful fresh mushrooms. But the broth stole the show. Really good. Came here for dinner and ordered the Tom yum soup, shrimp pad Thai, beef drunken noodles, saithong fried rice, green chicken curry, papaya salad, spring rolls and sticky mango for dessert. Spring rolls - 3/5 - meh it really didn't stand out, loved that it came out hot and crunchy but the filing inside is no different than those at a Chinese buffet, nothing but cabbage. Tom yum soup - 1/5 - something is off with this dish, first it came out luke warm, I didn't appreciate that. The dish didn't have that sour limey punch to it and it wasn't spicy. This was our least favorite dish and it's expensive too, $7 for a small bowl. Beef drunken noodles - 3/5 - This dish has flavor but omg it was so salty. They also do not play around with the heat. I asked for level 3 and it was very spicy. Papaya salad 4/5 - very good and on point with the tangyness. Green curry 3/5 - I thought this was ok, didn't really stick out. Pad Thai 4/5 - this dish was pretty good, I would say this would be my second best. Texture of noodle was chewy and it had flavor. Saithong fried rice 4/5 - I thought this was ok but my dad didn't like it as much because this dish has a hint of curry in it. Definitely a must try. Sticky mango 5/5 - really good and recommend trying! Overall this place is solid but they need to reduce the salt in all of their dishes especially the drunken noodles. read more

I was really looking forward to checking out Saithong Para Thai given its high marks, but I was disappointed. The food definitely tasted like it was homemade, which is always great, but the taste wasn't there. I always judge a Thai restaurant by its Pad Thai and the one at SPT had room for improvement. I will say, however, that the appetizer I ordered was unlike any I've ever tried at a Thai restaurant. I also had a Thai iced tea, but it was way too sweet. SPT is a restaurant run by a husband-wife team--she cooks and he runs takes orders. They have been in the restaurant business for years now and moved to Virginia (from Maryland) just a few years ago. The restaurant itself has approximately ten tables and there's lots of orders for pick-up. There is plenty of parking in the shopping plaza. read more

It doesn't look like much and being that it's located inside a somewhat shady looking shopping center, I was a little nervous especially when I walked in and there was nobody there.
