This is the best place to get Chinese food in Lewistown. The buffet is usually very fresh and hot, I'll get take out from here and stop in if I'm in town. I miss being able to get this more often to be honest. The staff are friendly and efficient, the inside is a little dated but is pretty clean. The take out is really good as well. read more

Worst Chinese restaurant I ever had, me and my peers felt very uncomfortable by all the Caucasian's staring at us as if we didn't belong there. The waitress was very nice but impatient. Rice taste awful. Buffet is guaranteed smaller than any buffet you might have ever been to. Chicken was more yellow than the sun. Ice Cream was hard as bricks. Really recommend you not to go there. read more

We eat here ALL THE TIME...it's right off the highway so that helps. The buffet is always well stocked. We have only had a problem one time (and they knew about it before we paid). Because of Covid they're only doing take out last I checked. We have ordered take out probably 5-6 times since covid. The one time we had a problem it was because we ordered wontons and they were out (so we weren't charged they just hadn't alerted the phone staff), not really a big deal and handled the way I would expect. My only real gripes are that there's no updates happening, nothing new on the menu, nothing new with the buffet, it's been that way for a while. It's also hard to get out of the parking lot where they're located (not really their fault but I get on 322 off their property if THAT little bit was paved I'd be golden). I believe the health violations were a previous owner but don't hold me to that I do know it's been quite some time. read more

My first time at a Chinese buffet. I was very impressed by the quality, variety, and value. My favorite dishes were mustard chicken, butter noodles, garlic chicken, and green beans. They also offered (to name some but not all) barbecue chicken, sweet and sour chicken, walnut chicken, beef with mushrooms, lo mein, crab rangoon, a couple of soups, a few sushi rolls, and both fried and steamed rice. And it was all good! Strangely, there were also several American items such as green salad and fixings, onion rings, garlic bread, chicken wings, and hot dogs in buns cut into segments. Plus--a large spread of fruits and desserts and a cooler full of six or eight Hershey's ice cream flavors. You can eat like a king for less than ten bucks. In fact, the entire bill for our party was $26 for three adults plus a toddler. (I was taken aback to be charged $1.50 for my two-year-old daughter, who ate two bites of noodles and nibbled on a corn fritter.) The value is staggering! If this place had been around when I was in high school (the China Queen years, for you old-timers), I probably would have bankrupted them. read more

We stopped here for lunch while returning home from local travel. It was just a spur of the moment thought to stop in Lewistown to eat. This restaurant is easy to find on Electric Avenue, as it is well-marked. For a buffet, it's average in selection and quality. Cost is reasonable. The buffet was kept replenished throughout our meal, so we didn't see any issues with enough food for diners, and it was busy at the time we visited (Sunday lunchtime). Recommend the General Tso's chicken, broccoli chicken, and wonton soup. There is a small dessert area, including ice cream. It was hard to tell if the ice cream is self-serve, or scooped by an employee. We didn't get much direction from waitstaff. It is a little tight for seating throughout the restaurant, so that does make it a little difficult for waitstaff to circulate throughout the dining areas. Recommend this buffet as an easy, affordable, satisfying (enough, for Chinese and a buffet) meal. read more

This appears now to be called China Garden Buffet, 112 Electric Ave (cool street name), and 248-2222. It was a standard chinese buffet. Not as good as the Bellefonte one, and better than the State College one (which had an issue with foreign material in food) at least slightly different, which at least provides a change. We go back if passing through. The birthday cake ice cream was a nice change in the deserts, albeit was a just Hershey ice cream, but we have grown to like Hershey ice cream more. We like to stop here. As an aside, there is a review for this restaurant that has more than one mistake per sentence. I found this amusing. read more

This Asian buffet offers a large variety of dishes at a reasonable price. It offers habachi. Be cautious with this, as when we visited the beef looked gray as if going bad. The small variety of sushi was also looking old so we avoided. The chicken dishes and veggies were great. Deserts were plentiful along with a nice variety of fruits. If you are familiar with Chinese Buffets, this is average as far as quality and variety. read more

This is a standard American Chinese style buffet. What sets it apart is the attentiveness of the servers. They are super quick to take finished plates. They also keep up with the food on the buffet. That means always hot food. Some Chinese buffets don't keep up in such fashion. Also, for a smaller restaurant, they have a good variety of desserts and a small salad bar as well. The price is reasonable for a small town Chinese buffet. It is also very clean even though they are in the middle of expansion construction. The main negative is the location. It can be hard, at times, to exit or pull into the lot. Another negative is the small and sometimes cramped spaces. But it appears like they are working on that with their expansion. The servers are very friendly and always smiling. They are quick to help should there be a problem. This is, in my opinion, the best Chinese buffet in the Lewistown area. read more

Awesome variety of food. The food is always fresh no matter what time you come in. Staff is friendly too.

Lunch is served daily until 3:30 p.m. at only $7.50 per person. I find this Chinese to be the best wholesome meal at a great price. Parking is ample and the inside doesn't get crowded that I've ever seen. I did visit here once before this review and I didn't have an issue then either. I always get enough to eat and there's such a variety on the buffet line to please anyone. My favorite dish is the walnut chicken which is similar to coconut chicken. They even have small variety of sushi. The one dish I would stay away from is the chicken and broccoli, the oil separates on the plate. They have these stuffed scallops that are served on a seashell that are to die for! I haven't had enough room for dessert but they also offer a whole line of Hershey's ice cream! One thing that matters to me, seeing as I have three children is that for the buffet they charge about $.75 per year of age that your child is, up to the adult pricing. I will definitely return because the food is of a good quality and I can get my monies worth, it's a quick easy bite that tastes delightful! read more

Traveling thru the area we stopped here for lunch. I wouldn't go back, very limited selection and some of wasn't very fresh

I have gone here for years and it has made some improvements lately as far as space goes. The food is good on the buffet as long as you go at peak times. If it is the off times, it's cold, dried up and not a good idea to Even stop in. But your safe from 11am-2pm, then from 5pm to 7ish. My biggest gripe was recently I got the walnut chicken, which was excellent on the norm, but when I went to take a bite, a hair that was over 10" long was coiled up in the food. I told the owner and she just gave me a weird look, removed the pan from the buffet but never said a word. No apologizing. I know it happens, I work in the food industry too...it is not unusual, it's life. But at least an apology, hmmmm. Any way....it's not bad but they really need to learn a little bit of compassion. read more

Not impressed anymore!! Called in order for 4 take out buffets and they messed 1 up so called and asked them to fix. They asked me to bring back the order they messed and they would give me another. Like why would bring back and order so you can reuse it. And because it got eaten they wouldn't fix it. Like what was I supposed to do with it, starve so you could take another 30mins and mess up my order again?? No thanks and this isn't the first time they messed up my order even before the virus crap. Definitely wouldn't be wasting my time with this place again I'll stick to Asian Fusion with better food, variety and prices. read more

Best place to get Chinese food in Lewistown PA is the China Barn. It is Pricey but well worth it! Make sure you go on an empty stomach it's definitely a filler upper read more

The China Queen, now known as the China Garden Buffet is your average Chinese buffet. All staff and waitresses are very quick and friendly and the food on the buffet seems to perpetually be being replaced by hotter, more fresh food. With plenty of options on the buffet ranging from wonton soup and sushi and General Tso's chicken to some varieties of more American foods like cheese sticks and even a hand dipped ice cream freezer. There is something here for everyone! One downfall of the China Garden is that the cleanliness could be improved but is not overly poor, especially considering it is a buffet. Overall it's a good choice. And don't forget to order a "Pesssi" to drink . read more

went there with my kids...got through most of a plate of food just to find an opened fortune buried in my food. (i can only assume that they recycled someone else's uneaten food and dumped the plate back into the buffet.) i pointed it out to the waitress, who smiled, nodded, and carried my plate away, only to give me a bill. absolutely ridiculous. i have never and will never go back. if i knew how to report that to the department of health, i would. i still have a picture of the used fortune on my plate, covered in food. read more

This is now called China Garden Buffet. I will not be back. This was a standard run of the mill Americanized Chinese buffet. Much less variety than others I have frequented. We were passing through and decided we wanted Chinese. I had my 2 children with me. I am giving them 1 star because of their customer service. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. But the management, not so much. The woman was set in her ways and maybe because of the language difference, kept reciting "the rule." and not listening to my point of view. The issue, their cut and dried rule on a child price being below age 8. One of my children is the size of a 6.5 year old. She cannot eat an adult size portion on a buffet. Every restaurant we go to looks at her and does not even ask her age, she is automatically given a child's meal price. I should have gone with my original plan and just waited to eat in State College. In the future, when passing through Lewiston, I will do just that. read more
