It appears the restaurant is in a nosedive to closing. Approx less than half the seating area open. 1 waitress 1 cook and 1 busboy by the looks of it. Received my appetizer over cooked. And main dish under cooked. I choked down the appetizer and couldn't eat the main. Only thing that was edible was the cold fries. (And they were cold because I was served appetizer and main at the same time and it took some time to choke down the appetizer). A remake was offered for the appetizer but declined due to the fact the first piece out of the entire order had me convinced that the entire order was fine. Was only able to get one drink and not able to fully eat my fries before being given my bill even after requesting another drink. (Waitress appeared to be unable to tolerate the work load she was given.)Also strongly suggest a food safety course be performed for the serving staff. Over hearing the question (what does it mean if a cucumber is slimy) is very concerning that the person constructing the salad does not possess the proper knowledge of what's safe to eat and what's expired or unsafe to eat. I quietly paid my bill left a tip and left the establishment post haste and walked across the street to order some edible food.....I strongly urge readers of this review steer clear of this establishment it's over inflated prices and less than edible food will leave both your wallet and tummy's empty. read more

A very pleasant experience... Welcome sign at the door said to seat yourself... we had plenty of choices, so we sat in a booth by a window... Our server came within 40 seconds to take our drink order... This was most impressive... We order the same breakfast as to compare apples to apples for each review... I have 3 eggs scrambled soft, wheat toast, and hash browns... Wife had French Toast and bacon... Breakfast was served in a unique style... Everything tasted pretty good... The only issue was that I asked for the toast to be dry... It came buttered... Things happen so I had no real problem... Just that the cook should pay closer attention to the order... All in all... I would recommend this restaurant for a visit to experience a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and a good meal... read more

New salad guy in town here. Nice small sizes of salad fixings on the bar there. Always fresh too. We just got soup n salad tonite with fresh fruit for desert. Doing laundry also. So I'm hopping back n forth inside. Waitress was great. We sat in the Club room at two club chairs at a round table. It was pretty comfy. I could lean back when I wasn't eating and stare around. Lol. On Sunday May 23, 2022 a group of us totally 9 went in Iron Skillet for breakfast. The second the cook seen us come in she said out loud so we can hear her"I'm not cooking for all these people". What a turn off. We were on our way back to Philly and thought we found a spot. The black cook had rings in her mouth looking very unkept. She would not cook for us on a bad day because appearance is everything. My group all work in customer Service so we know how to act. The poor little waitress was so embarrassed and said sorry. One of us gave her $10 just for sayin sorry. They lost a great tip. We are all government workers and some of us are Vets. Here's a tip, stop cooking and find a job you like to do. We didn't no who the manager was. Will never stop there again. We went to diner up the road and left a great tip as we always do. And do better or cut your ties. read more

Oh stop, it's not THAT bad. I mean, it's a truck stop buffet/restaurant. You expect edible, you get edible... you're not going to like everything, because it's a buffet. Indeed, I wasn't a huge fan of the hush puppies or the beef stroganoff... SO I DIDN'T EAT THEM! We stopped out at this truck stop to drop off an item to be embroidered at Truck Stop Embroidery and, since we hadn't yet eaten and the item would be ready in just 20 minutes, we decided to have a meal while we waited. We both had seats in our freshly cleaned booth and were promptly greeted by Ashley, a very upbeat, friendly and seemingly well-seasoned and efficient server. Our drinks were brought quickly and she brought a pitcher of water to help ourselves with after the first refill. We both had the chickenstrips meal and they were amazing. I mean it's hard to mess up chicken fingers -- one of the reason we got them -- but gosh were they good. $10 and it looked like we each got about a half of a chicken. There was also a very tasty looking hot foods bar that we will go back to try. All together an amazing meal -- the service was ridiculously friendly and efficient and the food was wonderful. Well I for the buffet and I came at prime time. Yes it's a truck stop and yes I drive a truck. The lasagna is quite good. I had some fried chicken it was also good. The beef out there as long as u pick nice prices and add a little salt it's good. The bad. Well them mash taters are instant and nasty the canned gravy didn't help them much. I won't be getting seconds of them. They had a tortolini and mushrooms that wasn't great but I think it had been there for awhile. I've noticed that the food isn't really upto temperature and is prolly a Heath code violation. Over all for 13.77 with tax and a whole salad bar I didn't look at I'd say it's a pretty good on the road value. Is it classy no. Is it awfully overpriced no. But everything I had beat the hell out of Dennys. I also ate more food then I should but it's all I can eat. All in all nice people pretty good food and I'd go back again. Well, when you're starving and on a long trip on the PA turnpike and don't feel like eating at the usual rest stops, almost anything tastes good......almost anything. To be fair, this wasn't the worst place I've ever been to. It is a truck stop style restaurant, so it is what it is...as a matter of fact, the experience was memorable. The kind but steriotypical waitress said: "we're serving steak and shrimp at the buffet tonight for $12.99." The "steak" had that liver-like taste and the shrimp was your basic frozen breaded variety; I enjoyed the shrimp. We arrived around lunchtime and had the choice of a buffet or ordering off of the menu. We don't usually enjoy buffets, so ordered from the menu. The three of us chose a corned beef hash skillet, a sausage skillet and biscuits and gravy. The corned beef hash skillet was the best of the three. Good taste, hash browns were nice and crispy, eggs done perfectly. The sausage platter was excessively salty, but otherwise okay. The biscuits and gravy had pretty scanty sausage content, but were otherwise fine. We enjoyed the facilities. Nice hunting theme throughout. The place includes all sorts of things for truckers and other travelers - even a barber shop. The location is absolutely perfect. Right on that weird little stretch of highway 11 between two major interstate highways. Great place to stop for a meal break midway between the East Coast and destinations in the Midwest. She barked at us for sitting down at an empty booth that she said was occupied (other patrons immediately told us she was wrong and they the people had left) and she made a big deal of us asking for a high chair. I've been coming here for 20 years. As a truck driver I eat out most of the time. All across the country. This particular place has gone from one of the better places to perhaps the worst breakfast buffet I've experienced in over 10 years. Poor selection. Not coy cooked properly and for all this you get to pay $10.49 Deep fried bacon that now tastes less like bacon and for like breaded crispiest. Raw shoestring potatoes, sausage with zero flavor. Great for a truckers stop, bad for a real restaurant. Do not take a date there, don't do a business meeting there, just no. Good for a quick stop during a road trip. I wasn't surprised when I saw a lot of truck drivers sitting in the restaurant. The plates are literally iron skillets, very fun. However, I noticed when we entered that the staff was a little slow. It was about 30 minutes until the waitress got to our table. She was very polite. I got the buffet. Now, when we walked in, it looked very appetizing. When I actually got a closer look, I was not impressed. Let's start with the pastas and bread etc. Some of the things were not labeled and I almost ate pork. Thanks to another fellow kind citizen, he warned me that they didn't taste good and that the bacon tasted raw. The bread was cold, and the butter looked funny. The fried chicken was good, but the rotisserie chicken was raw and tasted like boiled chicken. Was not happy with it. The pies were cold and the cookies were not edible.. Burnt to a crisp and left to get stale. The salad bar was messy but good. The thousand island dressing tasted like straight up mayonnaise. The 7 pepper fish was raw too and the sides were small. I wouldn't suggest stopping here. I didn't get the buffet, but just by walking by it, it didn't look too appetizing. I got the chicken fingers and fries and it was sub-par. Fries were cooked too lightly and the chicken still had a slight pink color. Probably could have used 5 more minutes of cooking. The kicker was when I asked for a go box. I saw the waitress grab the box from under the one drink machine. The container she gave me was dirty and had some obvious residue on it. They had seafood salad that looked like it was from a dumpster. Canned corn, instant mashed potatoes, and store bought deserts. I literally cannot believe this is a real business and that it is open. Besides buying terrible food you can go get some fake chrome, get a prepaid cell phone, get a hair cut, play some arcade games, and buy some ancient warrior type of weapons as well at this place along with a host of other shady looking businesses. I am still trying to figure out if that was real and if I was punked. If you want a side show check it out, but do not eat here. Ever. The snacks in the convenience store were much better then the prison food (served on aluminum skillets from the great depression) that were served here.
