The soup bar. Chicken noodle and tomato basil.

How does this restaurant have only 2.5 stars!!!??? I loved everything about this experience. I haven't been to a Bonanza in over 40 years, maybe 50 years (when I was 5), and I only remember that I miss Bonanza. So, when I saw it next to this Quality Inn on a recent visit here, I had to try it. It reminds you of a Ponderosa. In fact, I think that Ponderosa and Bonanza are now part of the same parent company. The atmosphere is one that I particularly like. I like the booths and quiet atmosphere. Since it's mostly a buffet, the service was commensurate with a staff at a buffet. I have missed big salad bars and buffets. This was reminiscent of that era. The salad bar was fresh and mostly full with a really good variety. You could make a salad of your dreams here. And, eat all you want. There is also a soup bar. Today they had chicken noodle and tomato basil. I didn't try the chicken noodle, but the tomato basil was absolutely fantastic, and would make an honorable mention. In addition to the food, there is a taco bar that looked good. But how much could one person eat? Next time. The food had everything you could think of. Meatloaf, fried chicken, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and gravy, orange chicken, green bean casserole, a corn casserole (that deserves an honorable mention), cabbage, an "unstuffed cabbage"' which was the only thing I didn't like, salmon, baked beans, hush puppies, yams, stuffing, carrots, macaroni and cheese, pork pot roast, a pizza bar, a desert bar and an ice cream machine. Whew! The sticky buns were phenomenal! And, even though I was full, I had to eat it. Overall, 5 easy stars! Everything was good, some was great and only one thing was not for me.

hair in food, bugs in food, green meat, and dirty plates. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!! service is good tho dw.

Yep a few of these left, who knew! Large clean room, friendly staff, very fair prices. We had 2 servings 6oz tips with baked potatoes, added 2 Buffett, 2 drinks and out of there for $40. Everything was hot, the steak pieces were a little large but cooked well, plenty of onion and mushrooms. The Buffett was fully stocked cold stuff cold and hot stuff hot. Meatloaf, wings, soups, Mac n cheese, cake, salad and all the toppings. A really extensive variety of items from apps, entrees and desserts. Pepsi products also a nice touch.

This place is not all that great. The food is mediocre. You're lucky if you get decently warm food. Their buffet is not very big. Their chicken is over salted. Their fish is dry. Their dinners rolls are literally hard as a rock. Their dessert assortment is not all that great. Their ice cream is decently good. The salad bar is the only good thing about this place. They have a good assortment of toppings for your salad. They have a good assortment of dressings as well. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly. I haven't tried their menu items yet. The only reason they got 3 stars is because of the service, cleanliness and the salad bar.

This is not going to be an easy review to write. I have so many conflicting thoughts and…read morefeelings... reviewing a restaurant should never be this dramatic! Seriously though... speaking as someone who was a partner in two restaurants in NYC for 4 years, who does not claim to "know it all" but knows some tricks of the trade... I think they've got great potential and would like to share my thoughts with them. Saying they've "got potential" probably come across as smug, obnoxious, and ridiculous, especially because they've got like 4.6 stars here on Yelp! And that's mainly why I found myself here... Staying in Mansfield for the night, I looked up restaurants that were enroute to our hotel. Some of them had 3 or 3.5 stars and I said "no way." But 4.6 stars with as many reviews as The Farmer's Table has? Absolutely! The atmosphere is a little bit diner but cozy enough and has the farm as a theme. There are some cool design elements, like the steel ceiling, the tables... The bathroom was clean and well stocked, and that's a really good sign that the place is sanitary and organized. The waitress was really, really nice... and we loved that we were in this tiny little town and yet she had this really cool, funky image. Great fingernails! I'm jealous! A tip for her to make service even better... think about sequence of service. Think about the extras that the customer will want with the specific thing they ordered so that they won't have to bother you. If they order something with fries, definitely put ketchup on their table, and do it before the food is delivered. There were also a lot of empty tables with salt shakers, but it's had none. Some customers notice these little things and appreciate a server who anticipates their needs. On the other hand, maybe she was just really slammed busy before we got there. My wife and I waited like 2 minutes for her to take my order and she apologized profusely for having us wait so long for her. I was like, "am I in Manhattan or wut???" She was on point, generally easy to find when we needed her, she was never trying to hide from customers (a huge no-no) and very well-intentioned. Definitely a keeper. The food though... I was surprised we didn't like it very much being the reviews were so good. When I got the check to pay, I asked the server what their most beloved and popular dishes are. She said that ppl order a lot of the prime rib sandwich, and also the cat fish. Incidentally, I had ordered the prime rib sandwich, and my wife had the breaded cat fish. I was expecting a lot more meat on my sandwich, and the bun was just a regular burger bun, but it was ok. It came with 3 slices of pickle and cost $11.90. I was still hungry after that so I finished my wife's catfish 'cuz she gets full easily. I liked the catfish more, but neither of us thought it was anything special. What was special were the prices. The catfish included 2 sides, and it cost less than $14. Being from NYC, it was so refreshing to see pricing that reminded me of year 2000! A burger for $7.85 that's not Burger King? Incredible! But the cole slaw... ewww. I didn't hate it, but I kind of forced myself to eat it even though it had a strange flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. Everything was basically O.K. I imagine that, if I lived there, I would go pretty regularly cuz it's probably the best thing the neighborhood has in a few square miles, and it's easier and more fun than cooking at home (if you're not a cook and you're busy at work). But I think that some improvement in the food could make the place more of a destination. And a destination could actually bring more business to the surrounding businesses! I can understand if the townspeople want very basic food there, but at least offer a few specials that are fancier, better ingredients, something that stands out and is memorable. I know I'm spoiled coming from NYC... a 4.6 star review in places like Manhattan are different than a 4.6 star review in a small town. But this place has some nice things about it. Take it all the way!

I had the vegetable omelette and absolutely loved it. You'd think an omelette would be hard to mess up, but I've definitely had some disappointing ones before -- this one was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. They also offer call-ahead seating, which I highly recommend. We called on our way there and were seated immediately upon arrival. The service was outstanding. Everyone works together as a team, so we had different people taking our order, bringing out food, and checking on us throughout the meal. It made for such a smooth and welcoming experience. I definitely recommend stopping by Grams if you're looking for a really great breakfast spot!

They try to turn tables over quickly so don't expect the wait staff to be patient with you. Most of the wait staff are in their late teens and have not fully mastered the art of etiquette yet. Our food came out relatively quickly and all but one dish came out at the same time. My daughter's pancakes came out about 5 minutes after our food. Not horrible. The waitress did not check on us one time but one of the other wait staff came and refilled our coffee. The food all came out exactly as ordered and tasted great. Although they told us to take our time originally they seemed to want to rush us out. As is normal, one of the wait staff came over and asked if they could take any dishes that we were done with. This doesn't bother me at all as it declutters the table. Unfortunately, one of the people in our party didn't appreciate the wait staff reaching across her to grab a plate. They also bring you the receipt to the table so you can pay and then if you don't pay fast enough they bring an iPad to the table. Overall I had a fine experience. The food was good, the wait staff was adequate and the price was not crazy. For five meals, a $5 orange juice that someone ordered that they didn't like, one cold brew and two regular coffees came to $124 with a 20% tip.

Not near it. OUT OF IT. At that point I wasn't sure if I was eating at a buffet or witnessing a wildlife documentary. The shrimp smelled like it had been shipped here on the Mayflower. One sniff and my nose filed a formal complaint. I considered calling the health department just so someone else could smell what I smelled and confirm I wasn't hallucinating. To make things even better, when it was time to pay, the staff hovered over me while I signed the receipt like they were proctors at the SAT exam. Nothing says "great dining experience" like feeling pressured into tipping after playing Russian roulette with the seafood. The food looked exhausted, the shrimp smelled like low tide, a fly emerged from my sushi like it was paying rent there, and the only thing fresher than the food was the pressure to leave a tip. One star because the fly at least seemed happy with the meal.
