The apple pie and bread pudding, both made in cast iron, were great! I had them plain but I know ice cream would've made them perfect! $45 for two. Not bad, I suppose. I wandered into Bonanza thinking I was about to have a charming little meat-and-potatoes moment. What I actually walked into felt like the food-service equivalent of a jump scare. The buffet looked like it had been sitting out long enough to qualify for Social Security. The mashed potatoes had this weird geological crust on top--like a distant cousin of drywall--while the green beans were giving "found at the bottom of a pond" energy. And don't even get me started on the mystery meat... I'm not saying it was moving, but I also wouldn't swear under oath that it wasn't. If the Board of Health saw this place, the inspector would just silently put their clipboard down, walk outside, and stare into the distance until someone asked if they were okay. Are their on Saturday February 14, 2026 around 6 pm, ordered a chopped steak well done and plain with fries. When I received my steak it was very bloody in the middle so I sent it back, the server came checking on my steak and approximately 30 minutes later I got my steak burnt and like 4 fries on my plate. I've been dating my girlfriend for 2+ years. She always says Hoss's is her favorite restaurant. So, I finally took her to Bonanza. She has a new favorite!! She even wants to go back for Valentine's Day. For me, I need to add some salt & pepper to most foods for some seasoning. But, I don't mind. It's got a great variety of foods. How does this restaurant have only 2.5 stars!!!??? I loved everything about this experience. I haven't been to a Bonanza in over 40 years, maybe 50 years (when I was 5), and I only remember that I miss Bonanza. So, when I saw it next to this Quality Inn on a recent visit here, I had to try it. It reminds you of a Ponderosa. In fact, I think that Ponderosa and Bonanza are now part of the same parent company. The atmosphere is one that I particularly like. I like the booths and quiet atmosphere. Since it's mostly a buffet, the service was commensurate with a staff at a buffet. I have missed big salad bars and buffets. This was reminiscent of that era. The salad bar was fresh and mostly full with a really good variety. You could make a salad of your dreams here. And, eat all you want. There is also a soup bar. Today they had chicken noodle and tomato basil. I didn't try the chicken noodle, but the tomato basil was absolutely fantastic, and would make an honorable mention. In addition to the food, there is a taco bar that looked good. But how much could one person eat? Next time. The food had everything you could think of. Meatloaf, fried chicken, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and gravy, orange chicken, green bean casserole, a corn casserole (that deserves an honorable mention), cabbage, an "unstuffed cabbage"' which was the only thing I didn't like, salmon, baked beans, hush puppies, yams, stuffing, carrots, macaroni and cheese, pork pot roast, a pizza bar, a desert bar and an ice cream machine. After reading some of the comments I felt compelled to write my own considering my daughter and I and buddy has eaten here for many years. Let's start with price. No one can make the same food that's on the food bar at any given time for the price they charge. Not even close. Quality: Outstanding... Their chicken is always excellent and so is their liver and onions with stewed tomatoes. If by a slight chance you saved room for dessert, the pastries are made there and tasty. Yep a few of these left, who knew! Large clean room, friendly staff, very fair prices. We had 2 servings 6oz tips with baked potatoes, added 2 Buffett, 2 drinks and out of there for $40. Everything was hot, the steak pieces were a little large but cooked well, plenty of onion and mushrooms. The Buffett was fully stocked cold stuff cold and hot stuff hot. The worst steak meal my spouse and I have ever had. The first NY Strip was inedible, rubbery, full of gristle to the point of being impossible to chew. They brought a second only slightly better but ultimately also inedible. Our poor waitress tried to help, saying she would talk with her manager. She then said he would come by. After waiting a considerable time we surrendered and left. Some of the bad reviews on here are way out of line. My friends and I are out here on a motorcycle trip and we stayed in the hotel and got dinner. I had the half rack of ribs and a sweet potato. They have a good assortment of toppings for your salad. They have a good assortment of dressings as well. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly. I haven't tried their menu items yet. Was there last evening for dinner, It was 6 PM when we arrived. Ordered the buffet what a disappointment!!!! Lettuce on salad bar was wilted. Hardly anything was filled. Went to the hot food not much filled to choose from. When I sat down to eat it it was cold!!!!! What a waste of $35.00. Won't be seeing me again. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. This Bonanza is basically a Ponderosa. The place is extremely clean, the employees super friendly. The salad bar was VERY well stocked with more veggies that I've seen in a while. It had the typical Taco/Spaghetti bar with wings and pizza too. A great variety of breads and sides, so if you get the buffet, there is no reason to leave hungry. My steak was cooked perfectly, and tasted great. It also had my 2 favorite Ponderosa desserts, home made banana bread, and the best Carrot Cake I've ever had in a Restaurant I know Ponderosa/Bonanza gets a bad reputation, but this was well worth the price. read more

I had the Senior shrimp buffet. The Baby shrimp were about 1/2 inch long...The smallest I've ever seen in an eating establishment or a grocery store served about 10 on a wooden stick over a lot of rice. Would not recommend this particular meal...Really disappointed :-( read more
