if i could leave no stars, i would. i ordered cheese wontons, shrimp tempura, walnut shrimp, and white rice. the wontons lacked freshness and flavor. the walnut shrimp tasted rubbery, and had a bad aftertaste. the coating that the walnut shrimp was in, was straight liquid, and tasted awful. the white rice wasn't great either. however, the shrimp tempura, was average. the place was very small, oddly decorated, dirty, and un-welcoming. there is no where to eat inside. the only table they had was grimy and sticky. the kitchen staff were not practicing adequate food handling and preparation. you should also note that a good amount of their food is stored in a freezer. i paid over $40 for frozen food. read more

Food is awful. I try their food once in a while and they never fail to disappoint. I sat and waited for my food to be cooked. Got home and the chicken taste so old, hard and rubbery. Wow what happened to all the Chinese restaurants in Eastern Baltimore County? I finally found one open and it was this one. I really wanted Shrimp toast for some reason on Good Friday. Well I had to let my friends know that if they don't hear from me tomorrow I'm in the hospital. I don't know what their shrimp toast is made of but it has no taste and looks like chopped cat food. Full disclosure, I did order my food at 10:30pm last night, which is 30 minutes before they close. My food arrived at 11:30pm. I got the quart of Wonton Soup and the Quart of Shrimp Lo Mein plus a side of Egg Rolls. The soup was warmish along with everything else. Nothing was hot anymore, nor actually warm. Which is not ideal but its okay we reheated everything. The taste of it all was blend, nothing stood out. Except the quantity, they are generous with their portions. Their price too is very good! The wonton soup comes with many wontons. The shrimp Lo Mein came with a good amount of shrimp and mushrooms nothing out of the ordinary. What I do have to mention is that although it was late and they were close to closing time the Lo Mein was freshly made and you could tell because the mushrooms weren't overcooked in fact even a bit to the raw side. My husband is the one who loves this kind of dish. All he said was it needed soy sauce, which translates to, not a lot a flavor... The eggroll is crispy outside and had no taste of pork whatsoever. It was more like a spring roll with pink tasteless dots. Anyways, Maybe it was the choices of dishes or maybe the time of the order. I wouldn't order the same items if there is a next time. I forgot the pictures we were so hungry.... But the pictures you find in their yelp are accurate. In fact, I might give it a second chance and try the Thai Red Curry, just because the picture looks very yummy, along with the Moo Goo Gai Pan and some Fried rice. You get free items when you order $15, $25 or $35 as long as you mention the coupon. The cashier lady was very friendly as well. Heads up: Prices on the website are not accurate. My item was listed as $8.75 but was $11+ all said and done. There are two prices for it listed on the menu for this page. Different sizes? Mine was a large? It was a lot so the cost was justified. They are very quick too as my order was ready for pick up in 10 minutes. Instant gratification! I decided to try this place since it was closer to my house than my favorite Chinese spot. I ordered a general's tso chicken platter with fried rice and an egg roll and shrimp lomein. The general tso chicken had a lot of breading that tasted like old grease. I asked for white meat which was not what I received and I paid an extra $2 for it. The rice wasn't done and had no flavor. The egg roll was the smallest I've ever seen. The lomein was super greasy and I had to put soy sauce on it to make it edible. Lastly, I ordered a Pepsi and received a coke. So, I get it, COVID... Our delivery order tonight was $50. We are trying to establish a go-to carry out for Chinese food being new to the neighborhood. This will NOT be it. A couple items tell the tale for me: Hot & Sour soup, Shrimp Toast, and Kung Pao Chicken. The Hot & Sour soup was not spicy, nor was it sour, although it was fairly oily. The shrimp toast was fried to the point of no return, and the inside had a weird gray color. The taste was off-putting to the point that we put it in the trash. Simply said, don't not waste your money. We ordered a small shrimp fried rice, a small shrimp Lo mein, and a large chicken in garlic sauce. The fried rice was mushy and the shrimp In it tasted like it was from a frozen bag that was microwaved after being found in the back of the freezer. Worse yet were the noodles in the shrimp Lo mein, they tasted like they were cooked in mop water. Truly regrettable. And now to the worst part of this food experience. They are plenty vegetarian friendly with healthy selections like Vegetarian Long-Life and others, which serve the sauce on the side. Came here on a Friday night, and it wasn't busy. The shopping center it's in has had it's share of comers and goers, yet this place has managed to stay. The decor of this place is right out of a 70s flick, and I love it. Very gaudy and borderline ugly, this place just looks awesome. I'll be making sure my future home is modeled after this place. I only ordered the sushi with a friend. I even got miso soup and edamame. The miso soup was homemade, and it made all the difference in the world. Simply outstanding. The sushi was also really good. I ordered the California roll and spicy tuna. The Cali was good, but you can't really screw that roll up. The spicy t was also good, but really spicy. I've had spicy tuna before, but this puts the other spicy tuna's to shame. The unagi was delicious, as was the rainbow roll. Service was friendly but not very attentive. So, I'm going through the many Chinese food takeout menus that they drop off at the apartment building, and I came across China Garden. Their menu has many differnt selections to choose from, and their prices are reasonable. I ordered the large wonton soup and the Orange Chicken dinner platter which comes with an egg roll. When I arrived at China Garden to pick up my food, it was quiet and empty. The pkace is small, and theres no room to sit and eat (thats if you plan on eating there, strictly takeout). A guy came out to greet me, took my cash, and then sent me on my merry way. The guy was nice, but he ended up jipping me out of 5 dollars. I'm glad I checked my money before I drove off. I went back to the resturaunt and told the guy he forgot to give me $5. He tried to convince me that he gave it to me and that I must of dropped it. However, everything that he gave me i out straight in my pocket, and i showed him all that he gave me. So as this guy is looking all over the floor for the $5, I'm just giving him a stern look like "you better give me my money, don't play me" so once he realized I wasn't falling for it, he went to register and gave me my $5.00. Alright back to the food, sorry I got a little sidetrack, lol. I started with the Wonton Soup, it was good, tasted like your typical wonton soup. Although, I did notice that there were a good amount of won tons in the soup, so that was nice. I then went to the Egg Roll, it was ok, I've had better. Lastly I moved on to the main dish, the Orange Chicken. OMG, that Orange Chicken was The Bees Knees, definitely the best I've every had! The sauce was a nice citrus tropical flavor, and it just tasted better and better with every bite. I am not use to my spring roll having meat in it so that was a waste (guess I shldn't have ASSumed - not big on the pork), but what really got me was the over bearing amount of veggies and peanuts covering my four little shrimp. I eat at China Garden often and typically I have a decent quality and fast delivery. This go around they were still quick but I noticed a quality change. When I ordered the Mongolian Beef they clearly sent me Beef and Green Peppers. (AKA Pepper Steak) I rarely review so you won't see me ranting but I do feel I needed to call attention to their poor customer service once I called to inform them of the mistake. The response from the woman who answered the phone... (That's how we cook it) That may be correct and their recipe is totally different than the rest of the world. But I have ordered their Mongolian beef before and it was the traditional pile of chopped beef and scallions. So why the misdirection now? Avoiding swapping out my lunch special? Plus it wasn't even good quality Beef and Peppers. The sauce/gravy was too thick and off flavored. The amount of meet was only 20% of the dish. I was super excited to try the food here. My coworker raved about it. Order a bunch of food and I took a bite and bit into a piece of metal. I called the store and told them what I found and they were only trying to refund me for that item alone. I explained I couldn't trust biting into other metal and they gave me a full refund. The drunken noodles were cooked to a disgusting mush and had little flavor, even with hots added. The spring rolls were complete mush inside. My place is 4 miles away, and they tried to tell me it was actually 7 miles and it would take an hour to drive out and back.
