0/10 do not recommend. The food was horrible. Nothing we had tasted good. Service was okay. They didn't come check on us. We had shrimp toast, crab wonton, shrimp and vegetables in lobster sauce, miso soup, chicken wonton soup, eel sushi and spicy sushi. We had so much food left and did not take anything home. We told them they can throw it away. Nobody asked us was something wrong, considering we barely touched anything.

Been here a few times now over several years. When we come to visit family in the Baltimore area, we always stop here for very good Chinese food. The shrimp toast is the bomb! Good fried dumplings and a decent Miso soup. Nice variety of sushi and well prepared. Try it out.

This seems to be a community favorite. The location appears clean and there were many people dining in. For me, the food lacked flavor, which was the main reason the location was recommended to me. A bit disappointed.

Starting my journey to see the sushi places Whitemarsh has to offer and a fellow Yelpie recommended Chopstix. I ordered the King Spider Roll & the O-I-Shi Roll which were pretty good. The sushi rolls were huge ( pause) but on the flip side, weren't wrapped too well. They kept breaking apart. I wasn't disappointed with the flavor, but the food ain't make me dance in my seat. It could have been from my selection, I'll have to come back and try other selections. The staff is amazing & the place is very clean. Quite as well. Even with all the pickup traffic going on.

I feel like I've heard good things about this place since I was in high school, and I finally got the chance to try it myself. I dined in for lunch with my parents on a weekday, so the restaurant was super quiet and service was pretty quick. We started with some steamed dumplings and edamame, which were both decent. I was especially pleased with the edamame as it was nice and salty, which is the way I like it. We then all ordered our own sushi, which were some of the biggest rolls I think I have ever seen. I feel like specialty rolls tend to be on the bigger side, but even the spicy tuna I got was as big as the rest of them. Usually I can eat about two rolls to fill me up (and sometimes a little more), but I was full after about a half of each roll. Seriously, they are huge! Everyone was happy - no complaints, and the presentation of all the plates was really beautiful. I was just jealous that the plate with the flower wasn't mine . That was definitely my favorite! I'm only giving four stars because I wasn't really blown away by anything, but it's definitely a solid sushi spot. I'd come by again if I were in the area.

Neighborhood favorite and my comfort food spot. Chopstix is a reliable favorite of mine for fresh and delicious sushi. All the rolls are great with my #1 being the ninja roll and I have been loving all of their hand rolls recently. The fish melts in your mouth and doesn't have that fishy flavor or texture. We have always been seated right away and service is quick. Take-out processes is seamless as well. I also recommend their shrimp and beef dishes, cant go wrong and they always come out hot!

breh you can never go wrong with this place , gotta give their sushi a 9/10. i asked for an order for a couple of rolls and they've made it super fast. i don't think anyone has made my sushi that fast , pretty impressive if you ask me. overall sushi was super good and the people working their are really chill.

It was good ! Especially the staff was kind and nice! I like the that crispy cips/snack thing with the sauce in the beginning! By the way there is no alcohol here! You bring your drink... We bought a Kirin next door...

For a Saturday night, the crowd was lighter than expected, which worked in our favor. We were seated immediately and food came out fast. The restaurant was still active, just not chaotic. The hot bar was well‑maintained, with staff constantly refreshing items and keeping the area clean. Tables were bussed quickly, and the entire place felt organized and spotless. Our waiter was extremely patient, even as we went past the 90‑minute limit. He stayed kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we wanted. I'll definitely return soon, and I highly recommend this place, especially for sushi lovers. With a score of 25 out of 25, I give this restaurant an A+.

I was definitely struggling at the end to eat everything but glad I was able to check Kanji out. I will definitely be back with an empty stomach to try more of their items next time!

Walking in, we saw a huge, clear plastic barrier side to side and most of the way to the ceiling, and i wondered why. It looks awful and is off-putting, which is what restaurants do not want. You order through a small gap in the plastic. I ordered the Japanese chicken noodle soup, and it arrived piping hot. After it cooled a bit, i tried the broth and IMO it lacked flavor. The chicken breast in it was very tender, and the baby boy Choi did not really seem to complement the soup. Also, I ordered a shrimp egg roll, yup, you guessed, right. It was all cabbage and 1 shrimp, only 1 of the tiniest shrimp I've ever seen and very greasy. It was disappointing. My husband ordered the shrimp and chicken on fried rice ( the man working there said this is their most popular dish). What arrived was only shrimp on the fried rice and no chicken. It was ok, a bit on the sweet side. Generous serving. Generally speaking, the menu is limited, and that is good when you can expect what they do being done well. I would much rather have it that way instead of a restaurant that has lots and lots, meaning quality vs. quantity. In this visit, the quality was off for my portion of the meal. Prices are reasonable for what you order. Service was really good and accommodating. They were very friendly.

The only reason this isnt 1 star review is because the food was ok. We were visiting on a weekend at 12:30. We weren't at a hibachi table. My husband asked for a gin and tonic. But there is no tonic water and our server couldn't offer any alternatives. Their beers were all flavorless pilsners or light beers. The plates are an interesting mix of heavy and large or flimsy and plastic. It made the meal strangely awkward. The food arrived and my husband asked for normal sodium soy sauce. We were told that all the green soy sauce bottles are filled with normal soy sauce. So they are either lying to us about everything being normal. Or they're lying to everyone else and refilling bottles that say low sodium with normal soy sauce. The server was below average and didn't clear anything from the awkward table. She was trying but was just not very good. There is a mandatory 18% gratuity that I asked to change given the service. I wouldn't normally punish a server for the restaurant's short comings but she was bad at her job. I was told their payment system couldn't do this. I asked to speak to a manager. No one would be in until 5pm. I am so glad I don't live near this place and have other options for Japanese food. I don't ever need to go back. This is my first review because I've never had a such a bad experience.

I personally enjoyed all of these dishes as a Chinese American, whereas my parents who grew up in China and Hong Kong did acknowledge that it is not very authentic. Definitely targeted for the American/western palate but still tasty nonetheless. My favorite was the eggplant and the string beans. The walnut shrimp was very good too, but a little too much breading. Wasn't a huge fan of the triple delight due to the sauce being a bit salty for my taste, but it was packed with so much seafood, meat, and veggies!
