My wife and I had dinner here. The food on their American-Chinese menu was excellent. Service was great. We dined at one of their tables. While they concentrate more on carry-out, they have an area with tables and chairs. Nothing fancy, but large portions. We enjoyed the meal there and had enough to carry home for meals for each of us the next day. Considering this, we paid ~$28 including soft drinks for the equivalent of 4 meals. This used to be the best place for Chinese food, but not anymore. The egg rolls have very little taste, not even any protein in them. I had Cashew chicken, at least it said chicken. Not convinced! It was tough, chewy and not good cuts, IF it was chicken. Odd flavors for both egg rolls and chicken. Hubby had pork with veg's. Big chunks of veg's, pork was tender, but not much flavor. Very disappointed. No dining in, although there was family taking up two tables. Not many good Chinese places in East Polk. I'm done! read more

China Gardens is in the Publix parking lot just across the street from Legoland. It's moderately priced and, like most Chinese restaurants it has an extensive menu and all your favorites. We choose to dine in rather than take-away. While there, the phone seemed to ring often and there was a steady stream of customers picking up their orders. The dine-in area is rather spacious and nicely appointed for a strip mall restaurant. It was also spotlessly clean. Other than the phone ringing the area is relatively quiet and it's easy to carry on a conversation. Some soft traditional Chinese music in the background may enhance the overall ambiance. We had the house special Mei Fun and the Moo Shoo Pork. Both were very good, although my dining partner felt the server should have added the Moo Shoo's pork to the pancakes table side vs. just delivering both to the table. At this price point, however, it's reasonable to assume the customer will need to prepare them on their own. The service was adequate, not spectacular, but again it's give and take at this price point. In summary, nothing out of the ordinary, but worth the price and a visit. read more

I was with a group of four. We were seated and our orders taken promptly. Our dinners came promptly after we finished our egg roll appetizers. The egg rolls were excellent. I had Curry Chicken with fried rice. It was a stir fry dish cooked just right with a fair amount of heat to the curry seasoning. The vegetables were fried to a tender crisp with the right amount of crunch for me. I found the fried rice to be tasty, hot, and quality. Not minute rice that some places serve. My wife had the General Tso's Chicken. She thought the flavoring to be right, but it was not spicy hot as we expect. Serving size was just right. It is a small establishment, but looked very clean and neat, with what appeared to be fairly new tables and chairs. The couple we were with dine here often and recommend it, as do I. read more

It's fast. It's comparatively cheap. And it's not the worst food out there. But if this place weren't located right across the street from work I'd never give it a second thought. The idea of making spicy Chinese food has never occurred to the owners, no matter how much I may beg, and it seems that I have to call 20+ minutes in advance in order to have my good ready when I arrive. All in all, you get what you pay for. If you're in the area to visit the park and want some good Asian cuisine, there's a hibachi restaurant two miles away, a Vietnamese place downtown and a nice place called Royal Asian Fusion nearby. Seafood delight was anything but delightful. all (what there was of it) seafood way over cooked. shrimp was like eating rubber. the little 1/2 oz of lobster so over cooked would not pull out of shell even tried steak knife. no luck. just tore into shreds. most meat left in shell. so called crabmeat. was imitation.scallops only 1/4 inch thick. also chewed like rubber. fried rice burned could not even try it. the smell made you sick, pepper steak. ok except you got 3 times the pepper and onion to a piece of steak. white rice with pepper steak only thing worth eating. $38 buck thrown out the window. good thing for the owners i live to far away to take it back and throw this garbage on their kitchen floor where it belongs. read more

It's either this or another place I started to frequent if not those then it's fast food. I have to say for the area they have really good Chinese food. I'm addicted to their boneless rib lunch plate with fried rice and an egg roll. All their lunch menu plates come with fried rice and an egg roll. Great rice and a good egg roll. The boneless ribs are excellent and s pretty big portion. I've also had their bourbon chicken and it reminds me of being in the mall and grabbing one of those free samples. You know you do that too. Also had the pepper steak and it was very tasty and filling. Not but not least the sweet and sour chicken which is also real good. Golden and moist. This is a nice place to eat at its your typical take out menu but they do a fine job with the meals. For the area 4 stars for sure. read more

My family has ordered food from here several times since we've into the neighborhood 3 months ago. My husband loves their boneless ribs. Everything was very tasty!!! We got a free large Genera Sao for ordering more than $40 worth of food. They also gave us an extra shrimp fried rice. When inquiring about it at 45 minutes it was simply "still cooking". 3 others were waiting over an hour. When anyone pointed out time frames they just said "ok" and walked away. The place was not packed but it did have a line of seven people waiting for food for over an hour after placing their order. One of the customers waited for 45min for soup. Price was fine. Unfortunately this restaurant does not offer healthy options, I asked for brown rice and they said "fried" or white rice is all they have. The food taste as if it was prepared several days ago with the sauce (which I asked for on the side) heavily mixed in with the entree. They were also out of several of the dinner options on the menu when we called to place our order. So many restaurants now are offering healthier choices on their menus. I would highly suggest China Garden do the same if they want to stay in business much longer. read more
