Food was very good. Had the chicken with Chinese vegetables and pork fried rice and egg roll--ordered as a "combo". The portion size was generous--I could easily have made two meals from what I got. The Service was very good. Ambience is probably what you would expect, but it's not a relaxing environment. They have perhaps six tables with chairs in between the door and the window where you place your order. Everything was well cared for and clean. Highly recommend the food. Great experience here. Almost feels like you're going to a bank or somewhere they have the kitchen enclosed behind a plastic wall essentially. Definitely can tell that they keep everything clean and safe. Everyone was extraordinarily friendly the food was fresh and tasty and hot. You could clearly tell they make everything fresh from the start. I would definitely go back again. New to Winter Haven so I searched online for good Chinese food. After seeing that this restaurant had the highest customer rating, my friend & I went there. It was awesome! Everything was made to order & fresh. Portions were nice, also. So happy to have easily found a great local restaurant. We drove by and we're hungry, always went for the fast food, but saw this almost 5 star Chinese restaurant and thought we gave it a try, we ordered beef and broccoli + chicken mushroom, with white rice, they were both so good! We were very happy with our choice of the food, of course the service was good too, family owned and very warm. I've been coming to China Wok for the past 5+ years and I have never been disappointed. Owner is a lovely person and always good customer service. I always order combo: sesame chicken with white rice and broccoli that's my usual here and it's always tasted so good! I order on the phone and it's always done when they say it will be I've never had to wait and since COVID-19 they had made many differences inside their restaurant and I'm truly impressed!! I've gone to multiple places in Lake Wales trying to find the best Chinese take-out & this place is a winner for me! I ordered the Singapore Mei Fun (2 extra spicy), wonton soup, and crab Rangoons. Everything is delicious and there is plenty of flavor. I see a lot of people complaining of blame food. If you are concerned about flavoring, ask for more sauce or seasoning like I did, they will make those changes for you! Wonderful people, good atmosphere and amazing food. 10/10! read more

I had to do a stopover between Vero Beach and Tampa. Lake Wales seemed like a good middle point, so I stopped at the Pizza Hut on the Publix shopping plaza. A member of my party went to restroom while I waited to be attended, she came back and still no one showed up. Then I opted to go get Chinese Instead. SO GLAD I DID. Delicious good. Amazing flavors. And FAST service. It's very safe-covid precautions wise and the food has authentic flavors like a big city authentic restaurant would have vs the generic style place where every dish tastes the same mid-size city. Prices are great and it's a good place to wind down from a long drive halfway through. Highly recommend it. read more

China Wok is a standard counter-service takeout place with a few tables in case there are needed. Same menu, same pictures, same everything as most such places. And it's a very good one. 5 * based on my "test", first time visit. Hot & Sour soup is my favorite! However, most places make it sweet?? I ordered only the soup to take home and try. The girl who took my order told me they could add more spoonfuls of the heat to make it spiced and......they did!! It was actually Hot & Sour!!! Lots of mushrooms too! I had the Buddha's delight and it was excellent. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just enough to still have some snap in them. They served the sauce on the side so I was able to put on the amount I wanted. The rice was light and not overdone. A lot of these smaller take-out Chinese places will make a dish like this heavy and greasy, and mine was not that way at all. I would definitely come here again and try other things on the menu. The food is very bland. We had to add garlic powder and extra low sodium soy sauce just to be able to eat the Pork Lo Mein but didn't finish. The egg roll didn't seem home-made. First, just know that this place is really more of a take out restaurant, the food is served in to go containers, there are tables and plenty of seating though. I'm giving it five stars because for what it is, it was great. The young lady who took our order was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about gluten free food, she really went above and beyond to customize our meals for us and she made me laugh. The food was cooked fresh and delicious, we went for lunch and it cost us less than $12 for two meals that were large enough, we took the leftovers home for supper. There was nothing fancy about the atmosphere, but we both took note that it was one of the cleanest places we have ever dined. We definitely plan to go back. read more

I ordered a "spicy" dish... And ordered it extra spicy. It was sweet and not spicy at all. I called up to see if there had been some mistake, but they said it wasn't supposed to be spicy. This Resturant was great. We were meeting old friend from out of town halfway and lake Wells was In The middle. We found it in yelp and read the other reviews. All 4 of us lived it. I got curry shrimp and the others got schezun chicken. Sweet and sour chicken and a combo plate. The staff was friendly. They allowed up to sit there for a couple of hours and catch up. I would say their veggies are fresher than most places and they cram a LOT of food in those tiny containers...my dinner combo was enough for 2 meals and I'm a hearty eater! The spring rolls were crisp but the egg rolls were lacking in flavor and a little thick. The gal taking my order was extremely pleasant and the food was steaming hot when we picked it up.
