Not bad, everything had a little bit of sweetness, which I didn't really enjoy. But Hot n Sour soup was excellent. They have good food there no doubt but I'm more customer service focused when I rate restaurants and my only two experiences here haven't been great. The first time they blatantly forgot items we requested as a group order and delivered it after we all finished our meals with no recovery method. Also, the girl at the register was a tad rude when picking an order up. Left a tip for a carry out and she looked at it looked at me- did not thank me and did not greet upon entry or exit. Stopped by a rainy Sunday feeling the need for some comfort food and China House fit the bill. I went wild ordering ($69 bill!!!) and got cashew shrimp, beef with oyster sauce, sweet and sour chicken, almond chicken, house special fried rice, regular fried rice, seafood special, lemon chicken, crab ragoons, spring rolls, and wonton soup. I did have people at home to help me eat everything up and it was all good! The best was the lemon chicken! The chicken breasts were pounded thin and breaded with a panko crust that had lemon zest in it! It was so pretty and definitely company-worthy! read more

This new place just opened up in Canton. I tried their General Chicken. It was the best general chicken I have ever had! Why? THE TEXTURE!! I It may be to the new nature of their fryer or something. But the texture, was the crispiest general chicken I have ever had. On a side-note, they make the black-style general chicken here; not the red-colored version. I personally like the sweeter gingery black-version of General chicken. So it was great! Another day I had their a vegetarian tofu dish to try out a healthy alternative. Their prices for their vegetarian dishes are waaaay too high. They need to lower its price right away! It is priced exactly as their meat dishes; which I find ridiculous. The taste? Well, with tofu, they taste like any other place (which is NOT a bad thing; tofu is hard to work with); thus devaluing the price even more! But either way, they need to lower the price of their vegetarian dishes AND give a larger portion with the vegetarian dishes. Would definitely recommend. Only standard dishes; no hidden chinese menu. read more

We had take-out again, and wanted to try some different dishes. I'm left with wishing we had gone somewhere else, or that my pork chops had defrosted in time so we could have just eaten at home. I could have found a better use for my $30+ bucks I blew on dinner. My husband ordered the Hunan Chicken. Since the online menu doesn't offer a description of what vegetables are in which dish, or what type of sauce its in, its a crap shoot. Sure I could have asked the person who answered the phone what was in each dish, but I didn't want to have to. Hunan chicken seems to be one of those dishes that change from place to place, but my husband decided to roll the dice and hope China House had the Hunan chicken in the thick red, spicy sauce, with some assorted vegetables. He ended up with slightly spicy watery red sauce that coated a vast assortment of vegetables, with some chicken in it. Thankfully my husband really likes vegetables, and didn't gripe too much about it, although he did wonder how much meat was in our other dishes. The vegetables that I did taste out of this dish were cooked perfectly and really went well with the sauce. The kids shared an order of Almond Chicken, which I took a few bites of. IMO, there is no such thing as "good" Almond Chicken, since it is pretty much flavorless. This was some of the worst Almond Chicken I've had in a long time, and it was all due to the gravy. This gravy was so thick, I almost felt like I needed to chew it. Not that I make a habit of just eating gravy, but I licked the spoon. It makes you wonder if I licked the spoon, how I could have gotten so much. This gravy, even though it was pipping hot, was so thick that it was bordering on being gelatinous and clung to that spoon like a toddler clings to their mother. It had a weird texture to it, because it wasn't completely smooth and was slightly grainy. The after taste was salt and oil. The upside to this dish was that there was plenty of chicken, and it was cooked properly. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai, super spicy. I knew when I ordered it that it wasn't going to be the best Pad Thai ever made, since I wasn't ordering from a Thai place. I know this is akin to ordering a chicken dish at a steakhouse. I should admit at this point that I hate all things seafood. I know there is fish sauce in Pad Thai, but its all mind over matter for me. If I can't smell it, or taste something really fishy, then it doesn't exist. When I opened the container, a huge waft of fish sauce hit me. I decided to breathe through my mouth and pretend there was no fish sauce. The fish sauce taste was so strong, it was all I could taste. My husband tasted it and agreed that it was really fishy. While stirring the dish up, I noticed several things: this Pad Thai uses really skinny rice noodles, not the long wide noodles normally used. There was very little chopped peanuts on the dish. There was no citrus slice to squirt across my noodles for that extra layer of flavor. However their version of Pad Thai includes green peppers, some cabbage and some carrots. There wasn't a ton of those vegetables, but enough to make me wonder if they were meant to be there, or if the wok hadn't been cleaned out before me and had some other dishes leftovers in it. While I asked for it super spicy, there was no heat whatsoever. Thankfully I had a little container of spice left over from a local Thai place from a different meal. That added spice made this dish edible. The best part of our meal was the egg drop soup. Not that this soup was over the top wonderful, but it just shows how ~meh~ the rest of our meal was. Our family is done with China House. There is better Chinese to be had in the area. read more

We went to there this afternoon. There were only reserved tables left. The lady asked us if we have reservation. I said we have no reservation. She asked us to sit in one of the reserved tables. I said thank you and we will eat fast. We ordered duck and other stuff right away. The waitress told us that duck needs 30 minutes. I said it is OK because I drove a long way here just for the duck. The lady came and told us again the duck will need 30 minutes. I could see she was unhappy. She told guests at the next table that we were supposed to leave soon, but we ordered the duck and intended to keep the table for a much longer time. She spoke loudly and made sure we could hear it. During this period, two more parties with no reservations came in. They both sat in reserved tables with no issues. I felt so bad. It is not our fault that you need 30 minutes to cook the duck. you cannot treat your customers like this. 2 read more

This place has some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. They have some of the best general Tsos chicken I've ever had.

I took my parents (in their 70's) out to eat here after a flight. I had ordered carry out several times, but had not eaten in. The food was excellent. The egg rolls are the best. The restroom is extremely clean. I had the Orange Beef, my mom had Genera Tso's Chicken, and my Dad had Sweet & Sour Chicken. Everything was great. read more

I was very happily surprised by this little place. I ordered the sesame chicken combo which came with fried rice and and egg roll for $8.50 and it filled two plates for me and my husband. He is pickier than I am and remarked several times how fresh it tasted and how much better it was than the other near by Chinese restaurant we have been too.
