We've never been let down by China Moon. The food is good and the employees are friendly and helpful. Our to-go orders have always been correct and ready quickly. Tonight when we stopped by, there was a woman waiting at the counter for her food who started a conversation with me. She said she'd been driving around looking for good Chinese food, and saw this place. After coming in and asking for a sample (why didn't I ever think to try this when I was broke in college??), she decided to order her dinner. What a plan! We consistently get the Sesame Chicken, and it's enough for the two of us to share, as long as we get an extra egg roll. If we could figure out some way to get the extra egg roll as a replacement for the broccoli (which we never eat), life would be even better.

I always order sweet and sour chicken and it's better than most places I tried. I really like their chicken fried rice.

Rainbow Chinese was recommended to me by friends I was hanging out with close to the area…read more I decided to drive out 15 minutes out of my way to go to the restaurant based on their recommendation. I was sorely disappointed in my meal. They were very crowded on a early Saturday evening. I recommend allotting extra wait time whether you're dining in or carrying out. Judging the crowd size I was really excited, anticipating delicious food. However, my food was not great at all. It was subpar as a matter of fact. I ordered a honey chicken combination plate. The egg roll was the only thing that I could see going back for. It had lots cabbage and was very crispy, but lacked any seasoning. Salt made it better. The fried rice was bland there was nothing in it, but just a few bits of chicken. Not even enough chicken, where you could call it chicken fried rice. It seemed as if a few pieces of chicken just happen to have fallen over into the rice. There were no sprouts or egg or onion as with usual Chinese restaurants. The honey chicken entree was disappointing. The chicken was very tough and was not fried to golden brown, it was beige and pasty. The lemon sauce had a strong lemony taste, but yet wasn't flavorful. Nothing I had was seasoned or even salted. Perhaps the food lacks seasoning due to their clientele. I did appreciate the customer service. One woman was cashing out customers while also taking phone orders--and did an outstanding job, getting people in and out. I paid eighteen dollar for what I thought would be dinner and also lunch the next day if I liked the food. There was enough for 3. Parking is a shared lot.

My daughter and I split the beef broccoli, and each got a wonton soup and vegetable egg roll. The wonton soup was very flavorful, the wontons soft and generously filled, and the crackers crispy and fresh. The egg roll unfortunately was very oily, but the beef broccoli made up for it. The portion was definitely big enough to split with leftovers and for the entire meal, including a pop we only paid $25.00 before tip. I felt the service was very underwhelming, but the restaurant itself was very clean with lots of seating.

I don't speak on things that I have no personal experience with. Every time I've been here, I would've rated them 5 stars without hesitation. I do carry out, but I've always been treated respectfully by the staff here, so I'm going to assume it's the same for dine in people. I could be wrong, but it's just an assumption based off my own experiences here. My issue this time, and this time only, is that the Dan Dan noodles which are supposed to have pieces of pork in it, was completely missing from my bowl. It had plenty of noodles and bok choy. As well as a huge heap of chili garlic oil, which I love. But no pork, no protein at all. It was a pretty good noodles and spicy soup bowl. But not Dan Dan. Which I don't understand even because I've had this several times and it's been great! Also, the noodles definitely leave something to be desired. They're not bad at all. But they're clearly a store bought, thin ramen noodle. I expect more from a restaurant like this. For example, Noodletopia in Madison Heights, now they know how to make noodles! They do it right in front of you even. They're thick and they have bite to them. That's how noodles should be done. And they've consistently made them the same way. Aside from the less than good noodles though...there should be no excuse to forget the pork in those noodles. That's practically what most people come to have! I'll chalk this visit up to just making a mistake. So I'll go again eventually. But I really hope I'm not wasting my money if another attempt, because I know just how good their noodles can be when the people making it are paying attention. I hope that I wrong and others line their noodles. But this visit,'certainly could've been better in my opinion. Which is meaningless of course...or should be at least.

It's very close to the former suburban showplace and located in a strip mall. There was availability in the shared parking lot. When we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the decor and layout of the restaurant. It was busy but only had to wait for a few minutes for them to get a table ready. There were seats at the bar which seemed like a good atmosphere if you chose to sit there. We sat by the window in a 4 top for just the 2 of us. My seat was comfy on a bench. There were many items on the menu that we wanted to try but asked our server for recommendations. My husband ordered wonton soup for appetizer and then Mongolian beef. I ordered the Thai basil chicken. We ate it all! Everything was flavorful and hot in temperature and served just at the right amount of pace. I also ordered the white flower cocktail, it was good and can't quite determine what part of it had a little kick to it! We ordered hot tea for our dessert, they certainly know how to make jasmine tea just right! Restrooms were clean and it's a cozy yet a little upscale vibe but not dressy. I was worried as I had my Star Wars t-shirt on but I layered with a sweater! We will definitely return as I'd like to splurge and try the Hong Kong short ribs!
