These people are rude AF. I came in to order lunch. Upon entering the door, I stood in line while the workers looked at me and did not say "hello". Finally, one of the ladies in the front ask me for my phone number. I asked if the restaurant serves orange chicken and rice. She then asks if I was picking up an order. I again tried to ask if orange chicken and rice were served in which she interrupted me. I told her she was being rude and she didn't even apologize yet continued to ask me what I'd like to order. Believe the poor reviews. I'd consider returning if the service was great but food was horrible as I could always order something else BUT being rude to customers? It's a hard no for me. I'll never return. They gained and lost a customer in about 15 minutes. How this place stay busy is beyond me! read more

Had lunch at China House today. I've been coming here since I was little. They have an amazing lunch menu that's typically cheaper than anyone else in town. But the food is delicious. The table had Egg Drop Soup, Sesame Chicken, Pork Lo Mein, the Triple Delight and a pile of Crab Rangoons. Everything was great, as usual. I think I've only been here once in 30 years that was not the usual level of tasty. The staff are friendly and it's just an all around homey dining room. So anyone who knows me, knows I love good food. This place has good food. I highly recommend. read more

They came with a choice of soup and the portions were a good size, especially for the low price point. Wife got the Pork Low Mein and I got the Kung Pao Chicken with friend rice. Service was prompt and the meals came out quick, making this a great spot to come get a fast lunch (especially if you're on base)... I was less than thrilled with the chicken, it tasted bland and rubbery, with little to know grilled flavor or crispy-ness. I will probably be back, but it wont be a "must have" option. read more

First time here. It's an older restaurant in need of updating but it's clean and at the time of our visit (06/22) had a 97 grade posted. The staff was friendly and quick to take our order. The food arrived in a good time frame. I had the Hot & Spicy Chicken. There was a generous portion and it was cooked well and tasted very good. My wife had the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Zero flavor!!! Shrimp Lo mein is tasteless. The shrimp by itself is can only be described as bland. The chicken fried rice has some taste. We ordered delivery. We got five different entrees and dumplings split for five people. All of the dishes were huge and came with fried rice. It was a ton of food and the dishes had great flavor. We barely put a dent in it all and there was leftovers galore. My only critique would be on the spiciness. China House allows their spicy dishes to go from no, med or hot. LOVE this place. 1) They deliver. 2) They offer healthy "diet" dishes that are great. 3) Large portions for cheap prices. I first found this place because it may be the only Chinese restaurant that offers delivery in Goldsboro. The delivery was prompt and the food was great. I have ordered steamed veggies and rice (you get A LOT of very fresh and good veggies) and it was non-greasy and just excellent. Have also had their fried rice (good and not greasy), eggplant (Yum! Even if you are a meat-eater, try this!), and lo mein (also good). I would say it's a step above your average Chinese take-out. It's not authentic or comparable to a place like PF Chang's, but for a quick Americanized Chinese spot you will be happy. Chicken wasn't dried out but the sauce was a bit runny and watered down. Still, I think I'd choose it over a really salty/greasy sauce you'd typically get at an Americanized Chinese restaurant. Clear broth, chicken, shrimp, snow peas, egg white, water chestnuts. They also give a house salad for free (iceberg, white sauce, crispy noodles). Positive: They give fried rice (not just plain white rice) with the meals! And the portion sizes are large. The owners and staff are super nice and very attentive. They make sure your experience there is great. They even give you fried wontons while you're waiting for your food! The not so good: As a Chinese American that knows her food, it's standard Americanized food. A tad on the greasy side, but still hearty. I have been eating at China House for many years, so I was surprised when I arrived Sunday and there was no waiting to be served. I picked up a take out order, and headed home. Undeniably, it was the worst take out I have ever had. Phoned the restaurant. The manager was very kind and offered to return my money. Our family is really picky when it comes to Chinese food. but we were growing tired of going to the same old place here in Goldsboro so I looked and found reviews for China House. I actually was thinking it was another place than it was but found it nonetheless it is right by the main gate to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. We ordered general's chicken and I ordered a house fried rice and the food was absolutely amazing. It has now become our go-to place for Chinese food in Goldsboro. Hands down this was a little hidden secret that we have never really paid much attention to because most of the Chinese places are pretty much the same. But you could tell the quality of the food was just A cut above everybody else. Even though you can't die inside right now you have to pick it up three take out window I got home with it about a 15 minute drive and all the food was still really hot really fresh and really delicious. I am going to start by saying this restaurant has been execeptional for number of years. It has been a couple of months since we have tried it. I am chalking this up to a bad nite in the kitchen, Ordered pupu platter for 2, won ton soup and pork fried rice. The pupu platters was very small and everything was overcooked and dried out like it had been sitting around. the Wonton Soup had no taste to it other then a soapy taste and the pork fried rice was bland. we will give it another try in a little bit read more

My wife ordered the hot spicy beef and the server delivered it to the table and called it beef broccoli then change it to hot spicy beef! They didn't have a clue.
