Food was cooked fresh as we ordered it. I got pad woon sen and was really happy with the quality of it. The vegetables were crisp, and the taste was top notch. The restaurant's atmosphere was really cozy and inviting; we loved looking at all the trinkets and decorations. The chef was wonderful too. Found this place based off Yelp reviews and was kind of disappointed. Ambiance was kinda dope, very different and it actually smelled great in there. I ordered the Pad See Ew and Pad Thai for pick up. No meat in the pad Thai and pad see ew had 5 shrimp that tasted burnt and the total was $39. We ordered it for pick up. The service was great but the food was just OK. The pad see ew was burnt and I could taste it, even with a lot of hot sauce. They scramble and egg and just throw it on top instead of cooking it in with the food which I've never seen and don't prefer. Overall 3 out of 5. read more

The best Thai food I have found in the United States yet. They only take cash, so come Prepared for that. It is 100% worth it. Food is delicious and fast and the people who work there are very nice. Thank you yelp for directing us this way! This place is THE BEST Thai food I've had in 20 years: not the American versions. The food is prepared artfully and is an authentic experience. We had the lemongrass soup which is served with plump shrimp and exotic herbs and flavors. We also enjoyed Larb and the whole fish which happened to be snapper today. I enjoyed the snapper so much I was told I need to be back when flounder is on the menu so we will 100% be back anytime we are passing through this way. I can't believe how terrible their customer service is. When I arrived there was already two people ahead of me waiting for their order for over an hour and a half. I placed my order on the phone and was told 30 minutes for wait time. When I arrived they stated I had a few minutes longer. I ended up waiting 40 minutes before my food was ready to go. The two people ahead of me canceled their order because of how long they had to wait. Upon receiving my food they charged me for the wrong order and charged my card double the amount of what I ordered. After leaving and trying to call the restaurant they did not answer their phone. Thai Garden - Cold Pad Thai - Thai Near Me - Goldsboro, North Carolina

By no means have I been a frequent patron of Thai Garden in the past, but the few times I did eat there, I had never had a bad experience until recently. I called in a pickup order, was told 30 minutes for an appetizer and an entrée then showed up 30 minutes later and proceeded to sit in an empty restaurant for 20 minutes waiting for my order. 10 minutes before it was ready, I was informed that the chef had just started my order (as in, not started until 10 min after I was told it would be ready). The entire time I was there waiting, there was exactly one other set of guests (a couple) who had ordered two entrées. Unless they had a massive order that had the kitchen behind, they waited until I arrived at my pickup time to actually start my order. The food was not worth the wait, much to my disappointment. The dough of the gyoza was dry to the point of being crumbly (as in, reheated in an oven, obviously not pan fried then steamed to order as they should have been). The meat in the drunken noodle was dry and leathery (the texture you get when you reheat meat that had been previously cooked), and it was very bland with little sauce (yes, I know the dish, if cooked authentically, should not be dripping in sauce, but this was almost dry in parts). The vegetables were undercooked, as in raw (not lightly sautéed to tender-crisp as they should have been). The noodles were mush. Meaning, they reheated the meat and noodles, and threw the vegetables in for a quick (insufficient) pan flash, and didn't bother ensuring the right flavor or texture. I understand that the pandemic has affected how restaurants operate, forcing some to make decisions to minimize profit loss (like not cooking food to order, waiting until patrons are on-site to start their call-in orders even though you promised a ready time, etc.). However, you cannot expect people to pay a premium (my order was $24 for one app and one main) for an experience and food that are not meeting minimum standards. If you want to keep your business afloat and charge much more than your competition, you at least have to deliver freshly cooked (to order), flavorful food and have it ready when you say it will be ready. read more

This was a shock. At first you feel like your in your Thai friends grandmother's house, ok. Then when taste the food, you realize grandma is an amazing cook. My wife's favorite soup of any kind is tom ka gai , usually she says it was ok, this was the best she's ever had hands down. I like massaman shrimp curry, again the best I have ever had. The flavors are so complex and perfect. At the end of dinner a thai woman owner chef comes out of the kitchen to make sure we liked everything and has so much passion for her food.
