Called in an order for wonton soup and an egg roll. Guy on the phone was less than thrilled that I called - not friendly at all. Walked in to pick up my order and was appalled at the conditions of the inside. I actually looked for a health code rating on the wall bc there was no way this passed an inspection. Boxes stacked all over the waiting area, dirty windows, floor looked like it hasn't been cleaned in months and the two men working were bundled in hats and winter coats bc there was no heat. My egg roll was decent, but the wonton soup was terrible. The broth was like yellow water - no flavor at all. I was weary eating the wonton meat after seeing the inside of this place. I would never order from here again based on what I saw inside. read more

I ordered Szechuan chicken online for takeout, Guy at the counter was rude and the food was terrible. The chicken didn't even look good. Bland, under cooked vegetables and so much oil that the pathetic "Szechuan" sauce couldn't even stick to the food, and I've literally had ketchup spicier than that. The egg roll wasn't even that good and that's abt all that I was able to eat after 17 dollars and a 2.50 tip. Will never go back read more

I travel quite a lot and have eaten Chinese food all over the country. This was the worst Chinese American cuisine. The place is filthy and our four different items all tasted the same, burnt and like rancid oil. Even the fortune cookies were stale. Please clean up your act! This was the worst Chinese food I've had. I ordered chicken chow mein, and the only ingredients in it we're onions, huge chunks of celery and chicken which tasted awful. My boyfriend got General Tso's chicken and lo mein and it was also awful. We ate probably five bites and threw everything in the garbage. read more

Ordering our meal here was a breeze. They use the Beyond Menu app and you pay for your order upon arrival to the restaurant. They had all of the pandemic barriers in place with a table blocking the entryway with a big bottle of hand sanitizer on deck. Very friendly service and really tasty fresh food! It could come of though as rude, but rest assured he is a nice guy when it comes down to it, after being a customer for awhile now he has opened up a bit more we have to remember our culture is a lot different and not just from China either, it's all over the world! People in different countries even tend to lean towards that we (Americans) are too nice, polite, and overly thankful. haha anyways, I normally order the general Tso with fried rice. We've been ordering from China House for about 2yrs now. Coming from The Madison/Geneva border. Great food! Great prices! Great portions! The best egg rolls & fried rice. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the fact that the House Chow Mein was about 80%, if not more, onions. Hardly any meat. Although it was still delicious, more meat would have been appreciated. Visited this establishment 2/28/23. First time ordering from this place. Walked in to place my order. Carry out only. I noticed it was cold in the place and all the employees had coats and hats on. A gentlemen took my order: Roast Pork with Chinese Vegetables Combination Plate, small order of BBQ Beef Ribs, Pint of Won Ton Soup, extra Egg Roll. Wait time 15 minutes. As I stood there waiting and looking around the place I began to notice how filthy it was all over. Boxes stacked all over, layers of black gunk hanging from the fan, a film all over the windows, clearly the entire place needs a deep cleaning. Made me wonder what the kitchen is like. Took my food home. Started with an egg roll. Not bad. Thin, mostly wonton, not a lot of filling. Then, on to my Roast Pork entre with what looked like pork fried rice. Bland, little sauce, tasted like most of the ingredients had been in the frig for a couple of days...not fresh. The rice was very soggy, not fried at all, little flavor. The wonton soup was ok. Didn't care much for the meat inside the wonton. Very tough. Not sure what it was. Also not fresh. Tasted old. My greatest disappointment - the ribs. SO BURNT and overcooked. Extremely dry. Tasted like they were days old. Entire meal, Mediocre at best. I wasted $25. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN. read more

The pictures that appear on the banner of this site are very accurate. The hot & sour soup was very good I like they included fried wonton strips. My General Tso chicken was okay, heavy on breading and could use a little more kick. The egg roll was good, tasted fresh. But my big complaint was the fried rice, weird color and bland. Plus they forgot to include the steamed rice for my wife's orange chicken, which was also heavy on breading but had a nice tang to it. Take out only for now, convenient location downtown, it appears one guy was running the whole operation. My fortune cookie was so stale the fortune had faded away on the paper! But overall, it was good, a lot better than Green Lake that's for sure. read more

First time ordering from this restaurant. Included special instructions for white sauce and it to be on the side...instead got brown sauce on both orders of food. Thankfully it was not drowned in the brown sauce. Also Egg Roll did not come with any duck sauce. Quantities of food was decent but prices were high for the quality of food. Plus it was quite a long drive to get to the restaurant. Next time I will stick closer to home where the prices are better and they listen to special instructions. read more

This is my second time coming to China House and I have found the food to be good. Obviously the food is Chinese American and in my opinion the general tsao chicken could have used a little more seasoning. However, the shrimp and lobster sauce was delicious. I will say that you get a lot of food for the price. 3 combinations, extra chicken and a shrimp and lobster sauce special was only $30.00. The service is nice, not extremely friendly but not bad. read more

Worst Chinese food I have had in a long time. Literally only 4 small pieces of beef in my meal (Szechuan Beef), no taste or spice to speak of - everything was just bland. So disappointed - Will never go there again. On a good note, the Beyond Menu app was easy to use - just need to find a better place to use it.... :( read more

Just had this for the first time. Chicken fried rice was bland, chicken fingers were like jerky, chicken chow mein had no water chestnuts, no bean sprouts...it wasn't made like I am used to getting it from another restaurant. It got thrown away. Chicken lo mein was just ok, won ton soup was just ok...it was in a chicken broth....I am used to getting it with pork broth. Not much flavor, but a lot of won tons. The won ton noodle itself was great, the mystery meat inside got thrown away. Although the price was really great, the food wasn't. We will continue to frequent our normal go to Chinese restaurant and gladly pay more money because it is worth it. I was really hoping this place was going to be awesome, as it is closer to home....I will continue to drive further for better food...every time. read more

The portions here are awesome, and I have a weird diet I follow for weight loss and they can accommodate. For those cheat days, this place ROCKS. One, their boneless spare ribs lunch combo is cheap, delicious, well made, and ready in a pinch. My favorite sides are their awesome egg rolls and they have, hands down, the BEST hot and sour soup I've ever tried. A gem in painesville. read more

Great food and awesome staff. I love their shrimp lo mein. You get a large portion for a small price.
