I dined in for dinner last night while in Carson Valley. Connie was welcoming, prompt and very attentive. I had been craving their General's chicken here and decided to come in for their dinner special. My food was served piping hot and was delicious per usual. This time was the sauce was my favorite. Next time I'd pass on their fried rice (soy sauce rice), there's nothing else in it. It's missing eggs and veggies. The restaurant has always been clean and tidy on all past visits; their restrooms are kept clean as well. I brought home my leftovers and an orange chicken entrée and a war wonton soup to-go. 4 for dinner. Seated promptly. Server arrived as expected. We had special dinner, chicken lettuce wraps, chinese chicken salad, hot and sour soups, and lemon chicken. All these were very good. Three dinners arrived after a little longer than expected. However, only after inquiring twice, and after the three of us had almost finished dinner was the lemon chicken served! No apologies either. I'd just had Thanksgiving dinner with my local friends here that I'm visiting in the Carson area. We went to a local casino for a great deal on dinner wit no cooking or cleaning, but the trouble is we found out, there's NO LEFTOVERS in the house to eat after! So, my friend suggest dropping by China Jade Horse here, cause they have a little known, killer deal on fried rice! Most of the prices here seemed to me a little on the high side, like there was one seafood fried rice that was close to $17 bucks, but they have this simple egg fried rice for just $6.95! You can't hardly get anything full order on any menu for $6.95 these days! We just happen to be in the Topsy Lane Shopping center area and Jade Horse is right in there, basically next to the In N Out. Easy parking, we went around noon. My friend ordered 2 orders of the egg fried rice and the total came out to just under $15 with tax. All the other fried rice options with meat included were almost double the price! Got it to go and off we go. The bag felt heavy! Service was fast! Getting back to the house, my friend had some fancy chili oil she added to it as well as some more green onions. Dished out for lunch and wow that was some tasty fried rice. It had that wok seared flavor like a good burger has that grill flavor. The chili oil added just the right amount of spicy. So, for just $7.00 bucks and order that feeds at least 2-3 people, that's a deal! I hear the rest of teh food there at Jade Horse is very good, but a little more on the spendy side. Great food and above great service. After paying for dinner I didn't notice my wallet fell out there. I notice it was missing when I got home but they where closed. I called and the lady owner answered and told me they had my wallet and would bring it to my home, but I did not want to inconvenience them and met her at the restaurant. She refused to take any money as a reward but we did buy her a present next day. What great service!! Also the food is the best in Carson. read more

Our first Asian food in Carson and we enjoyed! It was empty when we came, which was nice because we had our toddler who can always be a hit or miss on attitude. The staff was all friendly and didn't mind that he was acting a bit toddlerish! The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. I especially liked the chow mein. The restaurant is small and feels cozy. Wasn't overly salty or oily, which is how I find a lot of Chinese food. Chicken was crispy. We will be back! read more

I'm from out of town and stopped here on my way through to California. Probably the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. Started with hot and sour soup and potstickers for appetizers. The hot and sour soup was rich and delicious, and the potstickers had a light and fluffy pastry that was perfectly cooked, both the best I've ever had. The dinner portion of General Tso's was generous and piping hot. I highly recommend making this a regular stop for anyone close by. read more

I really wanted to love this place, we usually eat at Bamboo, decided to try someplace different. My fork was dirty, (that can happen) ordered the 21.00 meal came with shrimp wonton soup, which I love. I ate the shrimp first, and immediately had to spit iy out, it tasted like mildew. Not only is that nasty but mold is an allergy trigger for me. I had the walnut shrimp, steamed rice. Beautiful presentation, but before I could get home my heart was racing, I felt dizzy, and I was itching all over. Now it is morning, and I feel like I am prepping for a colonoscopy. read more

Finally found a Chinese restaurant in NV I can recommend. Food is served HOT. Tea was very good. Appetizers with lunch were crab raggon and egg roll. Perfect size. I had the Cashew Chicken with fried rice. A bit sweet but hot mustard tones it down. Also tried the Broccoli beef. Also a bit sweet. The broccoli was very fresh like out of the garden. We've been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years & we'll keep coming & singing their praises.. their are many Chinese restaurants in this area to choose from, but for me...this is the best! On ocasión I will go elsewhere, but nothing says home to me like China Jade. Recently when cleaning my junk drawer I found the menu from their original restaurant that was located in Minden. The Singapore Chow Fun is spectacular, especially if you like curry! Rice noodles would of made it 100% but the fettuccine sized noodles were suffice. My son enjoyed the Kung Pao. Way more meat to the veggie ratio, which was perfect. Mom liked her chicken salad. I think they could of decreased the amount of vinegar and though as there was about 1/4 cup standing at the bottom of the plate. We went here with the eight of us a little bit on a whim. Our group just couldn't choose where to go, and settled on this Chinese restaurant. Our expectations were in a fairness fairly low. We were completely blown away! The service was efficient and friendly, and accommodating to offer a family style served meal. Daughter was craving orange chicken, but wanted a restaurant and not Panda Express fast food. We read reviews about this place and decided to try them for a late lunch. We went around 3 pm and there was only one other table there. We were warmly welcomed right away and seated. Our drinks came immediately and our food came quickly as well. We ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and added in broccoli. We also had the Szechuan chicken and fried rice. My daughter and I loved our food and I was very impressed by the portion size and the flavors were outstanding. The food was freshly made to order. Prices were $12.95 for a huge amount of food. This is our first experience eating at this restaurant. We were greeted by Aldr who was very friendly. We wanted some won ton soup and chow mein as a snack. The soup was flavorful and the House chow mein was delicious. We had enough for leftovers. We returned for lunch the next day and enjoyed the tasty egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. Our House chow fun was plentiful and flavorful while my rice plate of spicy pork with tofu and fried rice filled my stomach. We had leftovers once again. Had urge for beef chow fun. This restaurant was on my to try list. They're a keeper, their stove has great "wok hei", which is a very high standard for a good Chinese kitchen! It means the btu's is high enough for very good results on stir fry techniques so as to not use a lot of oil in their cooking. Their fun was very fresh today, which you always have to ask when ordering, otherwise I would have tried something else. Their chow fun was exceptional good, with one exception, I never was a great fan of toasted sesame seeds or any sesame seeds period. I love sesame seed oil but just not crazy about sesame seeds. And they sprinkled a little for garnish. I won't die from it, but I certainly will remember to tell them to pass on that garnish in the future. A real biggie, they have real Chinese yellow mustard, the type that's similar to what wasabi does to you when you use too much! Chinese yellow mustard is a must for chow fun and any vegetables at a Chinese restaurant, not those hoidy toidy, food don't suck restaurants like pfc which hold southern Chinese food in low regard, because we don't descend from royalty. Lol!! I will certainly be back to this wonderful restaurant to try some of their other faire. Big plus, they also have bittermelon sometimes, but I told them, I will just bring some when I go shopping when the markets have available. read more

Stuck at work today after leaving my lunch on my counter at home I decided to order food from this place. I was asked if someone I knew had made an order because my order was similar. No, and I don't know Kim. After arriving to pick up my order I was again asked if I knew Kim because she had called from the same number. A work phone. I was given a cold Po Po platter with everything freezing cold and soggy. The chow mein disgustingly cold. Definitely inedible. I'm pretty sure I was given the order that had sat for the whole hour difference in between the orders. Hopefully Kim got my fresh food and enjoyed it because I definitely did not enjoy hers. And while I was waiting for the flounder, chef's wife was in the kitchen baking and frying up a batch of (little horns) "yau kok chai" puff pastry in preparation for Chinese New Year. Chef bagged me a few to take home for dessert. A filling made up of, roasted peanut, sesame seeds, coconut and white sugar. Yau Kok Chai is one of many sweet snacks served to family and friends visiting. This particular pastry resembles the ancient Chinese gold ingots which represents prosperity. read more
