Pork Chow mein, Crispy Garlic Chicken, hot tea

We popped into this gem and my partner and I were both disappointed one bit!!! The pork chow mein was absolutely delicious, along with the spicy garlic chicken, and some hot tea. The service was excellent, the woman helping us was very kind and friendly. And the overall experience and ambiance of the restaurant was so cute! I could not recommend this place enough. I'm glad that we popped into in a whim, and I WILL BE BACK

We went on a little overnight trip to Solvang and on our way back to LA we looked for a place to have Chinese food. This place came up and we decided to stop. It was a good pick. The portions were good for the price, and the gentleman that was there was really nice. It was small but quaint. The gentleman took out order and within a few minutes we had our food and was made to order. The gentleman was attentive and courteous. This was a good find on our way back to LA. Refinery recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

These are what we ate. We loved Ong Choi.

A friend of ours recommended this place and she was right. We wanted to eat authentic Chinese and this place served what we wanted! The staff were very friendly. This place got really busy that means people like this restaurant. This will be our go-to- Chinese restaurant. We forgot to take food pics but I uploaded the receipt instead. :)

Wonderful little Chinese restaurant. Great customer service, the workers are very nice and helpful! I've tried multiple dishes and loved all of them so far this place has great quality Chinese food. I Love the lunch specials!! The honey walnut shrimp was really good, lots of flavor loved the addition of the cucumbers inside gave it a fresh pop and the sauce was nicely balanced perfectly sweet .

And although restaurants need to make adjustments, those dining out, do also and want to get the value for their money spent. The service was nice and we have dinned at Nikka's for years. But the portions in food has gone way down. We ordered the fish n chips and the fish now looks like small fish sticks, the fries are such a small portions and the cole slaw is now in a sauce size container for what you get for a $20 meal. Now let's compare that with another local restaurant that has slightly raised their prices, but the quality and quantity has remained plus you get a view and great service (see pictures). Although, we try and support our small businesses, some restaurants have to consider what keeps the customers coming back where times may be challenging for them as well.

We held out on eating out and this was so worth it, just perfect and quality. Future birthdays and family gatherings will be here! First day we got happy hour oysters, uni, crab claw, fish and chips, bowl of chowder. Oysters were so fresh and delicious. Uni was remarkably sweet and creamy and sea fresh. Perfect fry on the fish and fries complemented raw plate. Chowder also delicious. Everything came out quickly and looked so good I didn't know where to start! We came back the next day as part of our staycation:) we got some more oysters because why not! lobster roll was the highlight, buttery roll and packed full of lobster. Calamari was great, loved the addition of fried peppers. Fish market really has their fry nailed down. Albacore crudo was good but our least favorite, would have preferred a more delicate marinade over the soy chili crunch and will likely order sashimi next time instead The guy helping us out at the cashier was super welcoming. Service was friendly and no frills just the way we like it! Thanks for the fun time out!

The folks working there were friendly and welcoming. The fish displays had good variety and the diver scallops were HUGEEEEEE. Ordered to eat in: lobster roll, fish and chips, bowl of chowder, and a side Caesar. Came out to just under $70...felt pricey. When the food came out, the lobster roll was a fair size, chowder was generous, the fish and chip was HUUUUGGGEE. The side salad was a generous portion, worthy of being an entree size. The food was good, outside seating allowed our furbaby got to hang out with us. Help yourself water, and they had a dog bowl, bonus points! We'll come back next time we are in town to visit family.

For entrees we had mussels, fish & chips, tuna melt, shrimp cocktail, ceviche and a lobster roll. All of our food came out the same time, nice and hot or chilled. Everything was tasty. Given the circumstances of the busy weekend, I'll skip the details of the wait. The staff here was incredibly kind and accommodating (except for the small mistake of serving up our food before utensils but they were quick to fix this). Now, the food! My table ordered a Cioppino, seafood pasta, and a tuna club. None of which I enjoyed! Tuna club: the fish was dark and tasted of literally nothing. Cioppino: sauce / soup was super underwhelming and seafood not fresh. Seafood pasta: the pasta noodles were overcooked and sauce tasted like it came from a can. The view with ocean backdrop is nice BUT you can get a similar view at other establishments in the area (such as the various restaurants on the Santa Barbara pier).

We arrived around 11am and there was a 15 minute way for a table for 4. There are several parties waiting outside already. We oredered coffee, beignets, kids French toast, crawfish etouffee, breakfast burrito with chorizo, and breakfast burrito with bacon and smothered with chili. Of all the dishes we ordered, we felt most of the food is a bit lacking. The powdered sugar beignets are bite sizes and the flavor stood out was a bit salty and dry. the bacon in the breakfast burrito was so hard and dry it's hard to enjoy it. I felt the crawfish etouffee was very decent. But it was very spicy this time. The service was great and staff was friendly. It was an open layout that had plenty of seating inside the restaurant. The decor was moder, but not overdone. We were greeting and pointed to a table but that was it. We realized there was a QR code on the table and we could order our food on there. It took a little while to get our food even though no one else was there. I found it really odd to not even be told to use the QR code to order or be informed of anything. Stewed beef noodles with Ramen- 9/10 My husband ordered this and I tried some. The broth was delicious. Rich and flavorful but not overbearing. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the meat was tender. The bok choy was a needed touch. My husband ate the whole bowl and wanted a second because was so good. Certified Angus Beef hot pot- 8/10 I ordered this with the tom yum broth. I didn't know it was a creamy version of the broth until it was served. I'm not mad about it but it wasn't in the description in case others are dairy sensitive. The broth was flavorful and really delicious. I will say that the beef was tough and it a typical cut that overcooked very quickly in the broth. I'm not positive it was Angus beef grade. I just now realized it was missing the lotus root but gave me zucchini instead. I was also missing my quail eggs. If I didn't read the description to know I was supposed to have them, I would've missed that too. Overall, the food was delicious but the service was 1 star for sure. We were never checked on and the waiter only appeared if we pushed the call button. If you can overlook the lack of customer service, the food is really delicious.

On top of that, the ingredients were distributed completely unevenly between the two halves. I literally had to take both halves apart and redistribute everything myself just to make it edible. Nothing about this felt fresh. I also swapped the "house-made chips" for tater tots -- which turned out to be the exact Ore-Ida frozen tots you buy at the grocery store, and even worse... they were undercooked and mushy. I am willing to bet I just paid $16 for about $2.50 worth of ingredients. For $16, this was not just underwhelming -- it was bad, REAL BAD. Do NOT order this sandwich.
