If I could give a negative star rating I would. This used to be one of my fav Chinese restaurants but my last 2 visits were terrible! I ordered bourbon chicken which came with a side of hair. I was given a credit which I then used to order some wings which I've had a number of times before with no side effects. I am currently at work having terrible cramps and I know it was the wings because I knew as soon as I tasted them that something wasn't right and it was my only meal today. So unless you want a mild case of food poisoning I suggest you not eat here. read more

I don't know what it is about this place, but every time I eat here it is incredibly disappointing, yet I keep coming back. I'm pretty sure they only have one sauce that's in a huge bucket in the back labeled "sauce", and it goes on every entree. If you did a blind test, you could think you're eating beef & broccoli but really it's hunan chicken. Or shrimp. Their menu is really just 65 different names for the same thing. This could possibly be the WORST food that I have tasted in years. I got the hibachi chicken and it honestly looked like it was made two days ago and then they just reheated in the microwave. I ordered delivery from here. Egg roll and General Tso with fried rice. Pretty basic standard order for a place such as this. The egg rolls were awful. Grease ran down my arm. And all dough. The General Tso had no flavor at all. And the fried rice was just white rice that was a light yellow color. I get I am in the middle of nowhere but come on. read more

When I get a craving for Chinese food, I normally come to China King. No more will I do that. I ordered pork lo mein. Got home and began eating it. I ate maybe 3-4 small bites and on the next bite, I felt something in my mouth. I thought that it may be a bone, but as I began to fish it out, it felt like a piece of plastic. To my disbelief, when I pulled the object out of my mouth, it was a piece of metal roughly 1-1/2" to 2" long from a Brillo pad. I promptly called the restraunt and explained my situation. I returned all food, including fortune cookies to them. They asked if they wanted for them to make another dish, I said no and asked for a full refund. The, I believe, manager said to only give me $5.00 back out of $7.78 paid, after returning all food provided to me minus 3-4 small bites. When I asked for a full refund, the "manager" acted like it wasn't their responsibility to provide that to me. I guess finding a piece of Brillo pad isn't justification enough for a full refund. After years of eating at China King, I will NEVER eat there again. This is how you DO NOT run a business. read more

Stopped for a bite to eat and with my daughter. It is by far the WORST Chinese food I have ever had. Both of us took one bite and left the restaurant. She had shrimp lo mein which had no taste at all. I had General Tso's chicken. Which was all crust and no chicken. Again the food was flavorless. The "fried rice" was gray and had nothing in it . We ordered spring rolls and bit into a huge mushroom. No cabbage or other vegetables other than a strange looking green something. Steer clear of this place. read more

I ordered delivery and said lo mein. When it got to the house it was a chicken and peanuts dish and a fishy dish with three sides of rice. We called back to tell them we were bringing it back and the asian lady hung up. When we got there and told her we had a peanut allery and the other dish was nasty they told us they wouldnt replace it because it was what we ordered. They fought us tooth and nail to not give us a different dish or our money back. Horrible customer service. Never will i go back ever. Warning. Food is great but the owners are incompetent. They swiped my card twice (charging me twice) then tried to tell me they were "pending" transactions when I literally had my bank statement pulled up to show that the money had been taken out. And I still walked out without my food, because I "hadn't paid for it". I had the same argument with the cashier and the manager before giving up and walking out. I now have to contact my bank in the morning to force China King to reimburse my money. I will never set foot inside this restaurant again. read more

Fatty, gristly and spongy hibachi chicken with no flavor at all. The veggies were soggy and the rice has no flavor whatsoever, it's just tastes like low grade chicken with salt and oily rice, egg roll was filled with weird spongy pork and no veggies or seasoning. Over all not good at all, crab Rangoons were alright but nothing to write home about. I get that it's just Chinese take out and I don't expect the world by any means, but for 26 bucks I'd expect more then greasy, soft chicken with a bizarre texture and no flavor. read more

NEVER try to have them deliver! I have ordered from them twice because I at least wanted to give them a second chance bc the food wasn't half bad. The first time we ordered from them it took 1hr and 15mins plus two phone calls for the order to arrive, and once it did it was the wrong order (they gave us someone else's) so we had to call back and wait for them to send the right order out. Like I said I was willing to give them a second chance if it had just been a bad day for them or whatever, I understand mistakes happen. So about two months later my fiance and I decide to order from them again. This order took over 1hr 45mins. I called up there after an hour and started off by asking what a normal wait time is once they told me 30-40mins I told them I had been waiting for over an hr, they then said it was a busy night but the guy had just walked out the door with our order and it would only be 5-10mins. Ten minutes later I get a call from a different person at the restaurant saying they were out of the drinks we ordered wanting to switch it for something else, telling me that the guy I spoke with had lied to me about the guy having just left. Both occasions the food was slightly less warm than preferred and we never received any kind of apology or discount for the extremely long wait time. I am not sure how the in store service is but their customer service for delivery is absolutely horrible and we will never order from them again. read more

Had to get delivery for lunch while at work today, so ordered combination plate (pick 2 and choice of rice or lo mein) for $9.95, also ordered wings and another dinner for coworker. Didn't realize it until after we started eating, but they charged $2 for lo mein even though it was suppose to come with my combo plate ughh. Our total with delivery fee was $30' but shouldve been less. As for the food...not a fan, too fried barely even taste the chicken. Wings are ok, but a lil too fried as well. I'm former US military, and I've been stationed all over the world (including Asia). My family loves Chinese takeout (and Japanese, Thai, and Korean). This is simply the worst Chinese/Asian food we have ever had. Greasy and no taste. The shrimp dishes had very few shrimp. The Pad Thai, with fish and shrimp, smelled rotten and we could not even eat it. The noodles were greasy and the spice was simply generous portion of red pepper flakes. I took it back and was told, "it is an acquired taste, and some people don't like it." It was not the taste or not liking Pad Thai, it was that you used spoiled fish! They did provide a refund for that dish. We will not return, and there are better places in Greenville (China 10 and Lam's). read more

Although they have GREAT food, it's the WORKERS who don't amount to a pile of Pu Pu!!!! I just started going to/dealing with China King cause a co-worker said it was better than the restaurant i had been dealing with. Like i said the food is great but 2 out the 5 times that i've ordered they screwed up my order. The 1st time, they left out something and when i called to tell them so he said well the person that bags the food said that they put it in there. THEN he asked me did you take everything out of the bag? That right there sounds like he's calling ME the customer a liar. Long story short they said we'll take care of you next time and Ben kept his word and did right by me. Now, today they didn't bring my soda!! When i called and told them i guess they looked around saw the drink sitting there cause the guy said oh, YEP you didn't get it. So then some woman calls and explains to me that the driver CAN'T comeback, because of the weather and i'm sure you can understand we're just concerned for our drivers/ Bull!! If you really were that concerned about your drivers, then why did you even open up today? So i told her i either need my money OR my soda that i have already paid for and want one or the other TODAY So she tells me that I can come and get either my money or my drink, so even though it was YOUR people that made the mistake and I have to come to you to fix the problem?!?!
