HORRIBLE SERVICE. WORSE OWNERSHIP. LYING. Attempt to UP-CHARGE without asking to the tune of $10 on a $30 order, until I called it out and the "owner" quickly tried to cover it up treating me as if I was stupid...completely talking to me as if I should be grateful for this HORRIFIC service. The WORST PART was them sending the wrong items and to top it all off the "owner" debated it instead of just replacing the $4.95 dish...just to be "right" when they were completely wrong. Upon placing my order for delivery, the man on the phone who later when he wanted to debate for literally 5 minutes what Chow Mein is and telling me what he sent was it...even though if you do a simple search online for Chow Mein the 1000's of images reflect exactly what I asked for...which is NOT what they sent. So I place the order from the online menu and when the total came up the math just did NOT add up...if this didn't happen today I would've completely forgot that this exact same type of THEFT by overcharging happened the very last time I ordered... YOU'RE BETTER OFF NOT ORDERING FROM HERE, than to be treated and talked to anything less than a paying customer....in the past 6 months I've ordered from here 5 times and I've spent over $30 each order...not to mention my company orders from here at least 2-3 times a month...NEVER AGAIN! I have been ordering here for years but lately I have been totally disappointed in the portions related to price. Skimpy shrimp dishes, crawfish fried rice without many crawfish and the worst of all lobster fried rice with one piece of real lobster and the rest imitation! 3 chances and you are out. Disappointing experience! I try to give business and the benefit of the doubt to small businesses these days, but the service I recently received at China Kitchen in Mandeville, Louisiana was poor at best. I called in an order 20 minutes before I would be in their area, and my call (and order!) was cut short by an woman with an Asian accent. I spent 10 minutes waiting in line for my order at the restaurant because only 1 person was tending calls, orders & payments. When I got to the front of the line, I gave my name, & they could not find my order. A female Asian employee then started waiting on people behind me like I was invisible! Before she got started with another customer, I asked her to provide me with a status of my order before bypassing me; she then asked me to pay for it before she could tell me if it was ready or not. Matter of factly, I told her if it was not ready to cancel it. My order was then promptly gathered upon possible loss of the business. I had a similar experience w/ this same restaurant not long ago (but did not give it a review), and sadly will have to give them time to correct their customer service manners before patronizing them again. read more

Very good cheap Chinese. Standard fare - egg rolls, sweet-n-sour, fried rice, etc. - but a large menu. Most everything comes in multiple sizes. Restaurant is small, this is better to call ahead and pick up. Food is ready super-fast, though! read more

Place is clean, called in orders are ready for pick up quickly. Lots of menu items. Overall, food is bland and mediocre. Beef and broccoli seemed to be lacking the usual dark, flavorful, brown sauce. Vegetable fried rice seemed to lack depth. Will not be coming here again. read more

Not a fan of Chinese food personally, BUT...I absolutely loved this place. I almost wanted to give it four stars, four and a half because it's small on the inside, but I couldn't do that to them because the service is so past phenomenal. And after reading other reviews I understand it's primarily takeout. My daughter waned to come here for her birthday and dine in. We were a party of nine, which is a lot for a tiny place, but man are they good. They are overly nice, hospitable, accommodating, informative, and friendly. EVERYTHING we ordered tasted wonderful, and was in very generous portions. We ordered a lot of food, lots, and therefore was not a single complaint from one person at that table, nothing but happiness. No one had to wait long for anything, it was all done very fast. I wish I could give better details, but overall, this place is just wonderful. The family that owns it is wonderful. And for me not being the biggest fan of Chinese food, I definitely plan on going back not once but several times. And so does my family. Thanks China Kitchen for making my daughter feel so special on her birthday. She will never forget it! read more

dishes do not include seafood or meat that is stated .Mostly broccoli and cabbage.Obviously trying to skimp .shrimp eggrolls had 1 shrimp in 2 eggrolls.Happy Family had 2 shrimp and maybe 1 scallop,not sure what it was.i keep giving them another chance but it is getting worse.owner is very unfriendly he should stay in the kitchen. read more
