Differences listed here from what I remember: Lunch - only wonton soup, black bean green beans with beef, fried wonton skin, sesame battered chicken drums. Dinner - wonton and hot and sour soupn blean bean mussels, onion rings, battered shrimp We came on a busy day for lunch and everything was fresh except for some reason the wonton soup was so bland. When we went for dinner on a sunday night and there were only 3 other tables and the food was stagnant for a while that it developed a film on top. The wonton soup this time was good. It would be great to know before hand whether it's busy or not haha. Typical mediocre buffet food. Lunch price is pricier is $19.95 which is ok. Food is better than uncle willys. read more

The server was friendly, picked up the empty plates, filled the pop. That is the only good thing about this place. Apparently the men's washroom was clean and smelled good. We went for lunch, there were a couple of others in there, they were not busy. On their website they have a couple of prices so we weren't sure which one we were going to pay. Food was mediocre at best. The sesame chicken was super salty and hard to chew. The porkchop was ok, the only thing I could actually digest. The rice was super bland, so was the chow mein. I ate maybe 2$ worth of food as it was just so bad. My family, who are big fans of Chinese food, barely ate anything because it lacked flavor and there were not a lot of options. The pop machine is in the dining area but you have to ask the server for refills. Overall it was an awful lunch but what really knocked it out of the park was the bill at the end...there were 5 of us, cost us $164.00!! I called to inquire why it was so expensive, turns out that my adult son who paid put zero for the tip...the server took the machine from him and added a $24.00 tip!! She accepted the amount and he didn't even see her do this. That is shady as far as I am concerned, we will never step foot in this establishment again. If you value every dollar you work for, and want good food...this is not the place for you....stay far away!! read more

Tonight I chose the closest in proximity Chinese food joint to where we live. China Kitchen has an older looking website that was easily navigated. My wife and I selected a combo dinner for 2 (chkn chow mein, beef chop suey, s&s pork) and added an order of "Breaded Lemon Chicken" and 2 spring rolls ...it came to like $48 or something. Whatever, it would be here soon as we are only about 2km away and we were hungry on this rainy Nov 1st night. Well, here's the breakdown in point form to drive this 2 star rating home for you fine people: -arrived in a timely fashion. - chow mein was mediocre, bland, extra greasy. -chop suey was ok. -s&s pork was good. - Lemon chicken was terrible! The worst we've ever had. Firstly, there was little to no breading on the chicken. The consistency of the Lemon sauce was very runny and tasteless. Eww, gross. Honestly, I almost called the restaurant to complain but I promised myself I would put this place on blast I was so dissatisfied. "It's like they forgot about the order of lemon chicken till it was going out the door" exclaimed my wife, while dumping it in the trash. The sauce was so whack, it reminded me of a finger bowl they give you at a bbq restaurant or something...fucking sick. I am attaching a picture of the tasteless, horrible, disgrace of a Lemon chicken side for $13.25. We moved out here from Vancouver a few months back so I don't expect any ethnic food to compare to our spots in the city but it was really really disappointing. Again, I find myself wondering and thinking about the delicious Steak dinner I could have made my family with the over $50 wasted tonight. 2nd time with a bad experience ordering Chinese food in our new city, next time I will opt for pizza or something. Soups: Fresh wonton soup Veggie dishes: Garlic cabbage Vegetable chop suey Egg Foo Yung French fries Feed fried sticky rice Vegetarian egg roll Deep fried wonton Meat: Curry chicken Beef & zucchini with black bean sauce Deed fried spicy pork chop Chicken drumsticks Sweet & sour pork Deep fried fish Maple cocktail sausages Ice cream there is 8 flavours and jello as well as fruit and small salad. Tea is extra $1 and soda is $2 or $2.95 for L and unlimited refills. The servers are great and always checking on you and refilling your beverage. Will be back one day but this sort of place isn't a daily thing unless you just order separate dishes at the restaurant instead of the buffet! ***Beware of the Greedy Cash grabbing Cantonese Waitress. We have frequented this Delicious Buffet for 2 years. Normally good food and pleasant waitresses. Two months ago we were very rudely accosted by a waitress who demanded a minimum 10% tip. She had served us a glass if water...nothing more. (We had left a slightly lower money tip) We left and did not return for 2 months because of her insulting and rude manner. This time we returned... expecting her rudeness ...and we were not disappointed. We had left a 10% tip (she had once again only served us only 1/2 glass of water) This time she stayed that 10% was not enough for two people! My friend said "how much do you want"? And gave her $5 more. He then put down $3 ...which she quickly grabbed from the counter. My friend then said " for 1/2 glass of water how much do you want? You are not very delicate in your manners." He put more money $20 down on the counter and said here take it ! How much do you want for the 1/2 glass of water. Do you want $100..... Take it.!" She then said she was happy with $5....and returned the additional $3 she had snatched and forced a smile. *Note to the management. You are losing business because of this waitress and her extreme rudeness. Tips are a gratuity in response to friendy quick service. This woman is extremely rude and obnoxious. Her service is below par of all the other fine waitresses who work. Most others waitresses are friendly and cheerful. A great place to sedate the most voracious and diverseof appetites. Tonight our party of four indulged in the all-u-can-eat dinner buffet. Salad bar, buffet and frozen dessert/icecream bar. From the salad bar we enjoyed a variety of items which included, crisp lettuce salad, 2 varieties of jello, fresh fruit, California Rolls, carrot cake. Dinner buffet included: hot & sour soup, wonton soup, spring rolls, sweet & sour pork, honey garlic pork, lemon chicken, 3 kinds of noodle dishes, vegetable rice, beef and broccoli, beef and black beans, calamari, roasted chicken, barbecued pork, onion rings and much, much more. My family decided to go here for my Birthday lunch and we all enjoyed it very much. It was nice to see it open again after the covid shutdown. The food was as tasty and plentiful as before and the service from our waitress was top-notch. We all enjoyed the variety and flavours in the buffet and we left feeling satisfied. I don't feel a need to go "to eat as much as possible", since it's the same price as an overpriced burger in a fancy chain restaurant that doesn't give you any soup, vegetables or dessert, or than doesnt let you switch up ingredients, so I say... why not pay the same and eat exactly what you need for what you feel you need for nutrition? There are even 2 soups. & if want deep fried, salt, sweet; it's also there to take a little of each too... which I couldnt do at home. They give the right amount of attention to you & it's like being at home in the sense of choice but there's more variety, it might be better and it's all done for you! They'll refill often or if asked plus It saves me time too, since I don't have to wait for an order. THE WORST! I accidentally ordered takeout from here instead of Kitchen on the Ridge, like we usually do, and immediately we could tell it was not going to be good. First of all, they got my order wrong and I ended up with 6 egg rolls instead of 6 vegetarian mini spring rolls. The egg rolls were gross and soaked in grease. The lemon chicken was a non-colour and the "sauce" was really just lemon water. The ginger beef barely had any sauce and was just mushy and tasteless. The vegetable chow mein has no vegetables and was dry and tasteless. We each had a plate, no one had seconds, and we just tossed the leftovers because no one was going near that food again. Waste of money. Kitchen on the Ridge is nearby and is MUCH better. Don't order from here! read more

Why bother having an online ordering system if there is no guarantee you'll get the order?! We ordered on their website and waited 40 minutes to have the order delivered, contacted the restaurant when it didn't come and they stated they didn't get the order. While on the phone, they stated "it was just coming in now" and it would be another 40 minutes until it's delivered. Not sympathetic in the least bit. Haven't even tasted a bite yet, and they get 1 star UPDATE: One of the worst Chinese food restaurants I've ever eaten food from. The crispy wontons were gross - the oil tasted old. The sweet and sour sauce was sickly sweet and disgusting. The chow mein and egg rolls were at least edible - however, noodles were soggy and flavourless. A fork is the presumed cutlery of choice, the noodles have been cut down to manageable fork-length sizes, and the deep fried wonton chips nestle cozily beside the french fries and onion rings at the buffet. I enjoy going to this Chinese Buffet because of the large selection of food. There is something for everyone in the family. One of my favourite selections is the honey garlic chicken - yum yum. The soup is also wonderful. The staff is very friendly, the prices are reasonable and the food is hot. The place does get pretty busy so I would suggest going before the rush if you plan to go for dinner. They also offer a Lunch buffet; which is a few bucks cheaper then the dinner option but just as good! read more

I have been in the washroom since I got home an hour ago - if you get my drift. My stomach is gurgling and I feel like throwing up - only coming out the other end so far though. The beans in the rice were shrivled up to nothing, the "prawns" - well I think they forgot to put them in the batter - because all I saw was batter - so yeah sweet and sour ... batter. Hmmm yummy. I got a few onion rings and they were day old I am sure. I did not even finish a plate - so all things considered $14.50 for half a plate of food is disgusting. I was with my daughter and she was still chewing the piece of chicken she had started with when I thought I would at least try dessert. Seriously - how much could that be messed up? She wanted to try the jello - yeah ... YUCK (and those were her words). She had to chew that for a LONG time too. The carrot cake (clearly a store purchase was actually good). The ice cream had about a month's worth of freezer "burn" on it so we skipped that, and they had some hershey frozen pie - it was ok but a little on the stale side. Side note the salad (lettuce actually) was all brown, and the "coleslaw" had that glazed over mayonnaise look - a sure food poisoning trip! I am so upset that I spent $18 there! (Oh I had a $2.50 (non - refillable) root beer (well that is what she told me it was - only there was NO fizz to it.) so it was a glass of syrup. I told them how awful the food was and they said " oh you are the first to complain" and I looked around and ALL that was there was two sets of nearly 90 year olds - so I guess it is safe to assume they were on a pension and surely yes - they had to be enjoying this more than the usual can of cat food for dinner!
