Went to China kitchen 12/22/2021 got lo mein chicken fingers and beef terriaki WELL the beef terriaki was not beef, it was flat and thin like a bats wing and smelled horrible!!! We took it back and they would only give us 6 dollars of 10 because one was missing and then one of the workers actually sat down and ate it in front of us!!! What can I say about China Kitchen. Folks the only reason this place got two stars. because of its chicken wings. they were well seasoned and crunchy. Keeping in mind i paid $2.50 per chicken wing! meaning, 2 chicken wings and PFR will cost you $9.10! 1st, worst lo-main I've ever paid $10 for, BTW Beef lomain cost $5.50 according to online menu, i couldn't tell you what flavor because it had no meat. i asked for beef but i didn't get any. lastly the Generals Tso chicken tasted like ketchup and soggy chicken. ONLY good chinese food I have been able to find in Taunton. I've live here for a little over a year & time and time again I keep getting disappointed from other restaurants with fried yellow rice no flavor instead of the traditional fried rice . Their general gao chicken was nice and crispy, crab Rangoon were good, boneless spareribs, Peking ravioli all good. Only disappointment was they kinda burnt my fried shrimp but they were still good so whateverrrrr! Happy I found them. read more

Chow mein sandwich - delivering the goods! Random fact: Recently discovered that the crunchy delicacy we know as the Fall River chow mein is known to the rest of the country as "Hong Kong Style." Stopped by for a Saturday lunch, and was overjoyed to find that the pork chow mein sandwich and a drink could be had for under five bucks. The steaming pile of goo (with a bun) emerged promptly, and fulfilled its promise of unadulterated umami. I got mine unstrained; the celery made me feel a bit better about putting down a half-pound of carbs and gluten. The pork - the sweet red Chinese type - seemed superfluous, and will stay off of my sandwich next time. Just add a freshly fried donut from next door (hurry, they close early), and this fulfills the classic Chinese and donut superlunch. (Confused? Ask around.) read more

This place proudly carries on the Taunton tradition of horrible Chinese restaurants! We took 2 of these out. No crunchy chow mein noodles at all. It was a goopy, dark, horrible mess of a sandwich loaded with some kind of pasta noodles, very little meat or vegetables in it. A few bites and I had enough, and chucked the rest. Here's my tip. If you want a good chow mein sandwich, or want to know what a good chow mein sandwich is like....go to the super market and by the Hoo Mi stuff and make it yourself, it's easy, it's cheap. Or...go to the Harvest place (check my reviews) on Rt 6 in Rehoboth? and take out or eat in on Sats only I think. Those are your benchmarks. China Kitchen is located right near St. Mary's square on Broadway in Taunton. It is a very small place, but the food is consistently good. I have never sat in there to eat, I only do take out. As I said, the food is always good, not great, but consistently good. The pricing is very reasonable and the quantities are generous. For a cheap meal I would recommend China Kitchen. It is NOT a fancy place and the neighborhood is a little sketchy, but to go in, grab your food and go home it is fine. read more

Chow mein sandwiches, guys. That's all I've gotta say. If you like, nay, LOVE carbs, can't handle a sandwich that can't be picked up with two hands, and really think that anything with vegetables count as a salad, I say go for it with a regular chow mein sandwich.
