Can't rave enough about this place -- authentic Cantonese Chinese food! Takeout is packed to the brim and every item we ordered was delicious. Ordered: house fried rice, veggie fried rice, sesame chicken, orange chicken, general tso fried tofu, and green beans. Their house fried rice was filled with bbq pork, shrimp, and chicken! Tofu dish was phenomenal and can't go wrong with a side of green beans. The people running this place are great and packed our takeout order neatly, didn't miss anything. Menu has all the usual Moos Goos and Moo Shoes and Kow Pangs, etc. My Hot n' Sour Soup was great. Big-ass portions and drinks are strong and yummy. Drinks are cheap AF and taste awesome and they have American Classics like Jager Bombs and Slammers and Gin Martinis and Tokyo Blasters, etc. As anyone who knows Chinese American the Chow Mein Sammie was invented here in New Bedford/Fall River area. And they got 'em here so they are legit. All phood was scrump AF and this place is a blast to hang out in. I never put a 5 star for a restaurant but I feel that this restaurant DESERVES a 5 star. I usually get a number 23, which is the general Tso Chicken, which is absolutely amazing, and I have been coming here for literally about 8 years and it NEVER fails to impress me, today I have went in once again to try seeing if the service was as still good since my last visit, which was probably 7 months ago, due to me usually ordering takeout from the restaurant. The waitresses were EXTREMELY nice and always made sure we were okay and everything. The food was also EVEN BETTER in person, which is usually the case for many restaurants but it was like a different kind of better, it was amazing, the chicken had a great crisp, the rice was so tasty and delicious, and the crab Rangoon's were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Every time I order from this restaurant I ALWAYS end up getting extra crab Rangoon's. The crab Rangoon's are definitely my favorite part of the food. As well as the noise level inside the place it would probably be moderate I would say. Once again, like I said. I never do 5 star rating's but I feel like this restaurant absolutely DESERVES a 5 star rating. It was definitely one of the best experiences I have had in a restaurant in quite a while. The food had no moisture. The pad thai noodles fully absorbed any sauce and were soft and mushy. The pork had a gray color to the meat. The flavor was not enjoyable. This plate was over $11.00. The chicken in the pupu platter was also dried out. It was partially dehydrated. Nothing else in the order was up to par. This meal was over $10.00. Clearly this food had been sitting for who knows how long. Hours? Days? I threw all of the food in the garbage and was sitting there just so disappointed that i decided to put in a call. I could hear the owner (?) in the background upset that i called to complain. He was saying oh well and yelling. I was unable to catch what he said but it did give me an impression. I was very nice and calmly just letting them know what was wrong. I was told that i could return it if i brought back the food. That is fine but who wants to go digging in the garbage and driving all the way back to the restaurant wasting gas and going back into a public place? I never complain. Ever. This food is a waste of money. I kindly told them that they can take my money as a donation but please do not serve this quality of food to other people. Lesson learned. No take out from jade garden. Very disappointed in the food and lack of professionalism. Pandemic or not, i am trying to support a local business. Hadn't been in awhile, but I'm happy to say, Jade Garden is back to being good again.

Jade Garden is a wonderful little Chinese restaurant located in the old "Muldoon's" on Church St in New Bedford. I've been going to Jade Garden now essentially since they opened and I must say it is a great place to go for any occasion! Super fast service and quality food every time. I would go so far as to say that Jade Garden is the best Chinese Food you are going to find in New Bedford. With a full menu of traditional Chinese favorites that will be at your table in what seems to be minutes this is the destination for great food. The previous reviewer mentioned that it was "Clean" and really that is something that is rarely found in New Bedford Chinese Restaurants. Jade Garden is always spotless and their dining area is decent sized and open. (Does not feel tight and uncomfortable). They have a full bar with wonderful drinks including the traditional and highly recommended "Super Scorpion Bowl" which I believe is made for 4 people but my wife and I manage to polish this off on our own! But, other than that they have everything from Johnny Walker Blue to JagerBombs! Service is always fast and attentive. Kam and his wife (owners) are always friendly and ready to greet you with a smile. Their specialty meals are good but I must be honest. I normally get the same thing. I have found MY dish there. It is the #23 which consists of General TSO chicken and Crab Rangoon. I will say hands down that their Crab Rangoon is the best I have had anywhere! Their General TSO is very different from other places around here. Quality chicken, in a sweet sauce (More sweet than spicy but really wonderful) fried fresh to your order. Their Hot & Sour soup is another favorite of mine. Fried Wantons and Boneless spare ribs are always a crowd pleaser with me and my circle of friends. To say that I am a fan of Jade Garden would be an understatement. Their food is quality and their service is fantastic. Stop in sometime with the family for dinner and see for yourself. Or go take a quick lunch break and be in and out before you know it. This is not just another Chinese food place... this is a very good.. CONSISTENT Chinese food place. Usually the food is pretty good and the service is quick. Today I wanted to try something new so ordered the kung po chicken. I was very disappointed with the food. The chicken PCs were so small! The celery, onion and even the peanuts were bigger than the pcs of chicken!!! before I ordered I looked online for pictures. Then one day you order a mixed meat dish chicken pork beef and an hour later doubled over vomiting. In fact both sisters had the same experience for the same dish. Politely calling the restaurant the next day simply to say they had a very bad experience from the only food they had during the day. My boyfriend (who doesn't particularly enjoy Chinese food) & I decided to give this place a try last night, for the first time. We were greeted & sat down immediately. Everything in here works really fast! Very clean restaurant; filled with people who were enjoying the food also. They have about a 10 person bar set up with a large tv to watch. They also spoke good English, so it wasn't difficult to communicate with them, which was nice. The parking lot had a decent amount of parking spaces available. & all the food was so hot & tasty. Not questionable or confusing. I am very particular on my crab rangoons... These did not disappoint me! I'm happy to say, my boyfriend & I will be coming back here again very soon! My husband and I found Jade Garden for a quick bite during cheering family members for Pan Mass Challenge. It was a pleasant surprise! The bartendar Kan is very accomandating my picky martini taste that he patiently suggested several cocktail combanations after listening to my favorite liquor choices (it took at least 10 mins). Then I have craving for some authentic Chinese noodle soup but not on the menu, so the owner put together a very authentic Asian style noodle soup with fresh vegetable and delicious roasted pork. The soup is so rich in taste from all the vegetables yet not heavy (clear soup) and the roasted pork is the best I ever had. I usually don't care much for this red roasted meat, however, the one from Jade Garden is moist, tender and out of the world. Kan is very proud of their roasted pork. Without his recommendation, I would not have chance to experience it. I wish Jade Garden is not so far from my home, otherwise, I will visit at least once a week. read more

Walked with our family to Jade Garden for a last minute dinner. We ordered our food with our friendly waitress and waited for our drinks, corona, coke, sprite, water and unsweetened ice tea. As my mother took a sip of ice tea she noticed there was something wrong with her straw (thought it was a hole) as I watched her move her straw I saw something moving at the bottom of her cup. We assumed it was a tea bag as she used her fork to pull it out. We were disgusted to find this slimy lump of brown on the fork. We told the waitress and she made the excuse that someone must of not washed the cup right (DISGUSTING!) this was definitely not from the cup, this was from an unclean dispenser. This looked like it was caked on for months. She quickly offered another ice tea which was refused and asked for a bottled drink. After trying to get past that we waited for our food. We all started to eat and enjoy the food, again my mother had an issue. In my mother's order was chicken wings, as she ate she realized the chicken wasn't fully cooked and the meat on the bone was still red. I explained to the waitress and as she looked at it she said "oh that's not uncooked, that's just the marinade they put on it". she must of thought we have never cooked before because that clearly was not the issue. We didn't get charged for the bottled water or the slimy ice tea but paid $50 for our meals, one cooked poorly and could be dangerous since it is chicken. Safe to say, not going back. read more
