The Five Star for The Big Wong. This is a scrappy joint but it is epic in its own way. A got a Chow Mein Sammy which was only 5 bucks and it was the real deal. A South Shore classic and this was piping hot and messy AF. Huge portion. I also got the Bourbon Teriyaki Chicken which was piping hot as well and had TONS of bird. Huge portion. I see people lambasting and hating on this place but they are wong to give negative reviews about the phood. This is good junk phood and it is right on. Just ordered pork chow mein and BBQ Spare Ribs. The CW was ok but cold and I only live minutes from the restaurant. The ribs were burnt and as tough as leather. I'll make this short, there was a bug in my food. Dead on my jumbo shrimp. I don't know how much of the food had bugs in it but we ate a fair amount before I noticed. I called and informed them and the driver came back, looked at the bug on the shrimp for about .0001 seconds and said "that's not a bug" proceeded put his finger in the food to touch the bug, pick it up while still denying it was a bug and then squishing it beyond recognition. Called his manager, after I informed the man that I had a picture the manager said he'd give back only the $17 that the shrimp plate cost although I asked for a full refund because I refused to continue feeding myself and my 3 year old their food seeing as all of the food came from the same kitchen. Rather than oblige he decided to argue and refuse my refund. Disgusting! Disrespectful, and according to multiple other reviews on yelp, pretty common for this place. It needs to be shut down asap. read more

BUGS! There was a bug in my food, picture listed below: Honestly the food wasn't terrible until I discovered a beetle that was fried with my crab rangoon. We had decided to eat there which we soon realized this was a mistake because of al the bugs flying around. After taking a few bites I discovered a beetle was fried with my crab Rangoon and sitting right on my plate. Getting take out, I asked for a fork. Never got the fork. Just a glare from the woman behind the counter. Apparently I pissed her off by asking for a fork because that's the only explanation for the awful food they served me. If you mix cardboard scrap with Vaseline you would get the equivalent of the fried rice they served me. The boneless pork was gritty and tasteless. The beef teriyaki would actually have been better if it were tasteless. The interior of the restaurant should have tipped me off. Only one table wasn't sticky and it still had flies. One of the cooks was wiping his nose constantly and going back to preparing egg rolls. The only redeeming thing about here is the merciful fact that I don't have to go back. Although, Big Wong makes me wonder how much it takes to pay off a health inspector. Someone should ask the folks here. read more

This was a first for me... I actually took one but and threw the food away. Teriyaki was gray soggy & greasy. (Everyone in our party ordered teriyaki and all threw it away) chicken wings looked like they were refrained 10 times. I took one bite and threw them away. I moved to the area in April, and wanted to try something quick near my condo. I was wary of the negative reviews, but I ended up being impressed. Good portions, hot food, and everything tasted fresh. The pork spare ribs were not dry, but flavorful and tender. The Lo Mein was very good, as were the steamed dumplings. Well, when I walked in and saw how the food was being stored I almost turned around and left! The Pork fried rice was in a huge metal bowl with this "scoop" that looked like it was a cut away plastic milk carton!!! It was out in the open too....no refrigeration!! Chicken fingers were out on the counter also. I got a very bad stomach ache after eating this!!! I wasn't surprised!! Won't be returning!! Pretty bad experience. We're visiting from Hawaii and were at the nearby skatepark where I noticed a kid eating Chinese food. He gave directions to Big Wong. Super unfriendly service, employees eating in the restaurant while yelling on their cell phones, no comments when asking for an explanation on the menu. We're used to good Chinese food but this was definitely not it. I asked what the difference was between "Boston" & "Fall River" style - brown or white sauce was the answer. My friend and I came here randomly (not so random since he was aware of it and I wasn't) because we were hungry but didn't want American fast food like Wendy's, Burger King or McDonalds which was all over the place. He was raving how great the food was and especially their Crab Rangoon - not exactly my favorite considering I am chinese. I ordered the chicken with broccoli with pork fried rice and chose chicken wings as the additional item. I don't really care for Pork Fried rice or any *brown* fried rice so i asked for white rice instead. Also white sauce instead of brown sauce on the chicken and broccoli. again, dislike the dark brown sauce. Later, i decided to change from wings to boneless ribs which was pretty easy and no fuzz. The chicken broccoli was bland and tasteless. I've had this dish many times at various restaurants and this by far was one of the worst. White rice was probably the best out of those lol. The name "Big Wong" ignites my inner child, and my maturity level goes from "adult" to ten year old child in just second after hearing/seeing the name, but the one thing this Chinese restaurant has going for it is it's name. Everything is inedible. I like all types of Asian cuisine...authentic, American style, I like it all, but this place takes greasy to a whole-nothaaahhh level! It's like they dip their already fried food into a bucket of vegetable oil before packaging it. Now, I am not just saying this because their food is greasy, it literally has an additional layer of grease on it's outside layer. It you refrigerate the food before eating I am certain it would all turn off white due to the grease. Aside from the grease factor, nothing tastes good, and it never even smells good when you are driving by, but I do hope the restaurant is around for years to come because I can always use a good giggle :-b read more

I have eaten here twice. The first time I didn't wall in and thought the food was bad but didn't say anything cause I did not pay for it. The second time I walked in to order and pick uo. I only can say that this place is dirty, my rice was crunchy every time I've been and I haven't eaten there since I found little black beetles in my food. Very good crab rangoons. Food was hot but bland. I live a block away and they delivered in 10mins. My boyfriend told me everything is pre-made. To call this chinese food, is offensive to the entire chinese culture. First off there was a very rude man answering the phone, and the rice they serve, tastes like a can of Alpo was added to the mix. They gave my husband and I one teeny tiny container of duck sauce, which I would've loved to drown my rice in to get the dog food taste suppressed enough, so I could swallow the stuff.
