I can't imagine leaving a bad review. It's possible those folks haven't had anything other than buffets before. We've been only a few times, and have never been disappointed. Today my spouse loved their Mandarin duck. The steamed dumplings were so tasty, the pork fried rice is loaded with chunks of roasted pork, the chicken kew was so good, and the banana fritters for dessert were so good. This place is very nice. It is not a buffet, and the food (and prices) are high end, but it was delicious and you get huge amounts. Service was prompt, courteous, and polite. Decor almost felt like I was in the owners house, and I mean this in a good way. I would definitely come back again. read more

After a return trip, the review is just as awesome- This place is amazing. The wait is longer than for a 'run-of-the-mill' restaurant- but worth every moment. The shrimp are never overdone and exceptionally flavorful. S&S pork does not disappoint and even the Egg Flower soup is worth the drive for us (45 min one way). A special note- Tuesday and Sundays, you may order from the lunch menu all day. Even so, dinner for two always leaves us with an excellent lunch the next day! UPDATE: Came back to try the 'lunch side' of the menu. Triple Dragon is a home run as is Beef and Broccoli. Had a cup of soup, it is a fave- and lunch does not come with the starters that Dinner does. Can't wait for a return trip already! read more

I've lived in Hammond for 10 years and I've never went into China Lotus until tonight! The food was EXCELLENT!! The best Chinese I have had. We got the sesame chicken and the Big Boss Lo Mein. When order taken, one of my kids wasted some water, she began to verbally assault my child. I stopped her and took overpriced bill for water and left. Service is HORRIBLE!! I can't believe they are still in business after treating customers the way they do. The new manager purposely gave us bad service because we don't tip as much as others. REGARDLESS of how much we tip, the fact is we do tip. I spend hard earned money at the place and bad service and rude remarks is what I get in return. The food is great! The waiter...not so much. He was very informal, not very professional, and he rushed. Knocked the top off the rice when he set it down, which wasn't a big deal. But... when he picked up the empty plates he slung juice all over me, the check, and the floor. Never apologized, never mentioned it, and acted like nothing happened. The Owner of the restaurant is extremely rude and snobby. I just left this restaurant to pick up a to-go order and i stood up there for 5 minutes while she smacked her gum at the register waiting on her to acknowledge my existance. the waitress walked up and immediatly helped me but she had 3 other tickets in her hand so i know she was busy, so the owner handed me my food and never said "thank you" "have a nice day" "kiss my ass". it made me feel almost as if she was just standing up there to show off and she thought she was to good to greet a customer. I would recommend the chinese lady brush up on her customer service skills. As for me Im going to stick to TREY INN, they are always friendly over there and there food is better too! read more
