This is the best Thai I have had in some time. I have eaten mostly Vietnamese for the last several years after getting some disappointing Thai. The Charm Thai Bistro made me very happy and a fan again when I dug into my to-go order of Massaman chicken curry. My partner got the special fried rice with pineapple and he was happy as well, My curry had a great flavor. It is not a sweet curry and I know often people expect a curry to be sweet and this one is not overly sweet. The only mistake was I ordered it mild. I wasn't sure of the heat level here since it was my first time ordering. This is white people mild and I say that as a white person. There is zero heat and spice at mild. I will order medium next time. I don't usually like the highest levels of heat because I prefer to taste my food, but I will definitely go to the medium here since I love some spicy flavor and a little kick. Otherwise, yummy! Really good flavor even at mild and huge pieces of white meat chicken, potatoes, and veggies. Fresh ingredients! Whole peanuts! It was delicious and I can't imagine how yummy it will be with a bit more flavor and heat! The special fried rice was equally delicious with fantastic ingredients. There were raisins!!! Oh, there's nothing like the taste of a caramelized raisin in a savory dish and then the sweet/sour pop of the pineapple with a mix of proteins. Mmmm... really yummy too, in case you can't tell, I tasted it. It's the price I would expect to pay for these dishes. It's not an inexpensive meal out but not overpriced for the food you get either. I don't mind paying around $20 a person (with fees, tax, tip) for quality food. There is a small convenience fee when you order online for pickup. I don't like paying a convenience fee but it is convenient and easy to order. When we arrived to pick up, our order was ready and hot. It's located in a nice, newer shopping strip on HWY 21 in Covington. The strip still has a lot of open spaces but it has this excellent restaurant and Albasha (Also delicious!) in it, so you can't go wrong! The restaurant is small with maybe 8-10 tables and a few seats up at the bar. It was clean with a modern look. Very pleasant. My limited interaction with the employee since I had ordered and payed online was also quite pleasant. We will definitely be back! I can't wait to try some of the other dishes, although, it's going to be really tough not to order these two dishes again since they were so scrumptious! read more

Food was good, not great. I was surprised how big their fresh spring rolls were, and how much carrots they stuffed it with lol. The peanut dipping sauce was good. I enjoyed the fried wings. I had the traditional Pad Ke Mao and it was basically mama noodles, if you ever ate those kind of thai/lao instant noodles before. I didn't think it was great, well not what I expected. I had been trying to get to this place since I saw their opening. I possibly should have given them more time to get up and running. I had fried calamari and seafood pineapple fried rice. The calamari was over done and caused the usual rubbery chew that comes from that. The fried rice had good flavor and a large quantity, but there were barnacles left on the mussel shells, one of which broke loose during the prep and cooking process. Weird doesn't begin to describe the sensation of biting into a barnacle in your food. I probably won't return here. read more

Tried calling for a takeout order this evening at least 8 times. 3 times the phone was picked up and then hung up, 2 times after ringing at least 20 times, I got a recorded message that said this number was not able to take my call and the other 3 times I gave up and disconnected the call. Tried one last time and the call was answered. I asked why I was hung up on 3 times. The person who answered said he was slammed with orders and had to take care of other people. I told him instead of hanging up on me 3 times, he could have told me that they were very busy and could take my order a little later or that they were not taking orders at this time!! Husband and I went for lunch and really enjoyed the food. I got the drunken noodles subbed glass noodles instead of what it comes with. Hubby got the Pad Woon Sen and they were both so good! We also got an order of the crispy spring rolls as an appetizer and they were amazing. Our 2 little boys were very welcome in the restaurant and the staff was all so friendly. Have never left a bad review, i usually try to keep positivity with my reviews. I'll say the place is very clean very nice, tables are way too small though. Service sucked, left plates at the already too small table up until the very end. Server sat behind the counter talking to 3 random women that came in bombing the place with the smell of a nail salon. Food was absolutely MID. Great little Thai spot, food was fresh and I like that they have satay on the menu, I don't understand why so many Thai restaurants around here don't have that but they do. I use to live in SE Asia and obviously no place will be as authentic as it is in Asia but it's still really good Thai and if you want it Thai spicy they will make it that way for you, just ask! The server is very accommodating. My only criticism is the restaurant seems a bit understaffed for dine in service, but the one server is very nice and tries her best to service the front of the house by herself. First and last try. Does not deserve a second try. Food was terrible. Even their steamed rice was not cook well. I am very familiar with Asian food and I can cook. Poor and cheap tasting quality as to no quality at all. None of the food we ordered are even average from egg rolls to curry. Curry and tofu are not supposed to be very sweet. The ambiance is good but that's about it. I was gonna say the server was nice but it was not nice to serve bad food. I decided to give this place a second try after visiting the first week it opened and being thoroughly underwhelmed. Not a good decision. First, the service was slow for the amount of people dining. Second, the food. The beef salad had chunks of meat so big and tough that I couldn't chew or cut it. The flavor was decent, but not enough to risk choking on a wad of meat gum. The Pad Thai had 4 thin pieces of chicken a little smaller than a silver dollar. The carrots were so large and undercooked that they might as well have been raw. The flavor was nothing to write home about. Moral of the story, do not waste your money here. read more

Excellent food and service. We were promptly greeted when we arrived and the staff was happy to answer any questions we had. Our noodle dishes (pad see ew and drunken noodles) were piping hot when they were brought to our table. It is a nicely decorated spot and felt casual, yet clean and new. I spend a great deal of time in Los Angeles and live very close to Thai town when I'm there. The food here is comparable, or better than anything I can find in Thai town in Los Angeles, which obviously has a huge Thai community. The atmosphere here is pleasant. We decided to try this place because we LOVE Thai! we will not be back. first of all, for the portions and the flavor it was WAY OVERPRICED. I ordered the fried rice with my meal, which included an up charge, which would have been no big deal, except the fried rice came out 15 minutes after my food did and was so salty, it was inedible. The girl who brought our food to us, literally did not speak. Each time I said thank you, she did not even respond.
