I'm an experienced Thai food patron and this place has no right claiming they know how to make pad Thai I asked them to put extra peanuts. They charged me $1.50 for extra peanuts. I have no peanuts there's no cilantro, bad lime (black) and their sauce is like 90% soy. I added beef and asked them to remove the tofu but the tofu was in it. And very little beef The dish looked pre-made. No tamarind flavor which is a key ingredient This is the worst pad Thai dish I've ever had. IM SORRY BUT YOU GUYS ARE NOT GOOD AT ALL !!!! read more

Friendly service from everyone at the restaurant. We've been struggling to find places with food we are used to in Seattle. This is going to be our go-to for Thai. Food- I like that they bring cucumbers to the table. A little less skin would be better but hey they are free. Coconut chicken soup seemed more cow milky than coconut milk taste so I was disappointed and a bit bland. The basil chicken was more peppers than anything. But there are many things I did not try. My husband did like the chicken satay. It looked good. Decor- if they took everything off the wall and left just the plants it would look more classy and lose the messy set up they have as you walk in. Or at least use black pots. Love the water fall. I used to live in Hammond, and this was my absolute favorite place to eat! Since moving, I'm not often in Hammond anymore, but tonight I finally got the chance to go back and see if it was still as great as I remembered. Guess what? It is!! The tom yum soup was on point, the beef with asparagus...chef's kiss! The jasmine iced tea is a perfect refreshment. And the complimentary cucumber appetizer is so appreciated- delicious! My server was friendly, and didn't judge me for making a huge to-go order as well to get me through the next few days. True story. The food is just that good. I've been addicted to Thai Green Leaf lately, between the very crisp Yummy spring rolls, their HUGE fried plain wontons that go so well with their soup, and their soups (Tom Yum Goong or Tom Yum Seafood Noodle). Yummy+Hot although could use more ingredients as mostly broth. I tired the Garlc Tofu String beans and like their sweet+sour sauce, I found the sauce far too thin. Although jn both cases very flavorful and would be good if thicker and far less runny. There aren't many Thai restaurants in Hammond, as I'm from Georgia and there are so many here. I was on a trip and decided to stop by Thai Green Leaf. We were seated very quickly and service was outstanding. My fiancé and I got plenty of leftover food at the end. We ordered two thai soups at first, without knowing soups come with lunch specials, so there were four soups we ate and brought some home as we were way too full to eat four soups. I ordered the Pad Woon Sen(Thai Glass Noodles), and he ordered the Pineapple curry, which was basically Panang curry with pineapples in it. We also ordered thai teas, a little tasteless. My two other friends and I stopped by there for lunch on our way home since I've seen all the positive views. First, I really like the environment. The elephant decor by the door was really cute. The entire restaurant was quiet which made it a good place for having lunch with a few friends. The food was great! I had the Cashew chicken entrees that came with rice as a side. Both chicken and rice were delicious! However, it was really slow when we got there. We waited for about 30 minutes since we came in. No wonder why we waited for this long since there was only one waiter when we got there. I don't know if it was because it was a Saturday afternoon or they are always this slow. WOW!! This is hands down the best food in Hammond. The fried rice has actual peas, carrots, eggs, onions, scallions - not that cheap crap. Every type of chicken I have tried is full of flavor and hits all the proper notes. I can never come without getting the crab rangoons either! How did this place get such high ratings? 1) The staff doesn't speak English 2) The shrimp tasted like old a** stale cardboard 3) The staff asked how everything was and I said the shrimp taxes really REALLY old, and she just walked away and never came back. This review is a challenging one, because the food was good in it own perspective, but not traditional Thai. First, I want to qualify my statements before I press on. I live part of the year in Thailand and have Thai family there. I travel all over Thailand and have eaten Thai food in every region. So, to press on-I had the Massaman Curry and Spring Roll with Thai iced tea. The first thing I noticed was the Iced tea seemed to have a good flavor, but they were very heavy handed with the sweet cream. Some people may enjoy a sweeter flavor. I personally would rather taste the herbal flavors of the tea. Same with the Curry from a creamy stand point. True Massaman has a slight creamy texture due to the cocoanut milk or cream and the starches from the potato's. the thickness can very depending on which coconut product was used and how long it was cooked to break down the potato's. This Curry was very thick and I would guess a dairy cream was used to add a creamier texture as the flavor was very indicative of cream. I can't really attest to the Curry flavor itself. It was there, but the Thai flavor profile was slightly off. On a high note, the spice level was perfect and the chili flavor brought it back to being more in line with a Thai dish. All of that aside, I enjoyed it. The dish itself was very tasty, but not really Thai. The spring roll was good. Maybe to you this matters, maybe it doesn't. To me it does. After eating a few bites I had asked if the place was Thai owned. It is not. To me Thai food is is a family food. When a Thai prepares a meal there is history in it, tradition in it, heart in it. Every unique flavor has a history and heritage and the preparation needs to come from the heart of a Thai where the essence of generations live. To understand this you must experience it. Recently tried this for the first time. I love Thai food. I was really disappointed they don't serve drunken noodles. It's my favorite Thai dish. I decided to try the sweet pepper chicken with fried rice which was DELICIOUS. The chicken was slightly overcooked but I didn't even care because the sauce was so good. I have eaten here before and loved their main dishes. This time we ordered a variety for a party and picked up for take out. The summer rolls were rice paper rolls stuffed only of iceberg lettuce. Extremely disappointing. The mini spring rolls we ordered were also lacking on ingredients. They were only filled with cabbage.
