My last straw was months later my issue still wasn't resolved and was charged $350 for a stool test that told me nothing and told to take more supplements. I finally went to my primary and got things figured out. I also didn't realize the functional health medicine doctors are actually chiropractors. These are not the people who should be telling you what you should be taking orally. I did more research and found out that none of these practices were scientifically backed and supplements are not FDA approved. I was also told to wear a castor oil pack around my stomach to help with the gut. Again, no scientific proof that stuff works. Lastly, after asking if all I had to pay out of pocket was $350 for the test I was the billed months later for an extra charge after I stopped their services for "extended time, coordination with other providers, lab work, other care related research and coordination" Gimme a break!! I called to question and was told my insurance should cover and I guess it did not. Just sounds like an extra added charge to squeeze more money. My card was automatically charged and I will be disputing that nonsense. Beware to find a real doctor and take what they tell you with a grain of salt.

It is so refreshing to meet with a doctor who is invested in your personal well being, and takes the time to check in with you and discuss matters with you. She has a very calm demeanor, and I have never felt rushed if I come in with a long list of concerns and questions. Personally, she has helped me with my high stress levels, back pain, hormonal imbalances, chronic digestive problems, and overall well-being. I have seen quicker results in 6 visits with her than I have over the years when I've brought these concerns to therapists, psychiatrists, ob/gyns, and gastroenterologists combined. I feel great. Dr. Norini has a very practical and holistic approach in her practice. She blends Eastern and Western medical practices to suit your needs. After a couple of visits the pain had been minimized and I was very happy with the physical therapy exercises that she gave me for my shoulder. Through the muscle therapy she performed and using the exercises I have gotten more strength to my core and shoulder which has help with my sports activity. At this point, I only go every so often for adjustments and check ups and with the exercises that she gave me my shoulder is back to normal. Long story: When I initially reached out to Olivia about starting acupuncture, I asked to see if it would be covered by my insurance. She assured me that she would provide me with the paperwork needed so that I could submit claims to my insurance for reimbursement. However, after multiple discussions with my insurance company and numerous submitted claims, I was informed that reimbursement cannot occur without a tax ID number associated with the practice. My insurance does cover acupuncture but not for someone who does not have a tax ID. Olivia gave me the false impression that submitting my claim to insurance would not pose any issues, and had I anticipated any issues, I would not have pursued treatment with her. Additionally, there were several instances where there were oversights in treatment. Once when she forgot a needle in me and another time, she forgot to place a needle where it was needed.

Well, today March 13, I got a message that she is no longer going to be providing Primary Care Services effective March 1 (not a typo) and that I will need to re-establish with someone new, again. The kicker is the message says patients can reach out about any refills or needs before her last day...which was 2 weeks ago. This is negligent, and I genuinely don't know how I will establish with someone new in time to get medications because of how long wait times are for Primary Care nowadays. I'm unimpressed with how this departure was handled, and this is now 6 providers who have left in the last 3+ years (4 of which have been at Northwestern). *Updated to add that it's been weeks since I contacted Northwestern's Patient Relations to ask how this is not patient abandonment and neglect, and I have heard nothing.

She is also generous with her time; I've never once felt rushed when I've visited. And she has referred me to an OBGYN whom I really love. I'm glad she's part of my healthcare team.
