Came for lunch with Mom. They have a nicely priced lunch special as long as you go in understanding this is a pretty bare-bones operation for dining in. Clean and basic, nothing fancy. Lunch is around $8.85 for an entree, fried or white rice and soup. Add $1 more if you want to swap for a salad or an egg roll. I wouldn't do the salad but you didn't need to be told that did you? Come on, this is a Chinese restaurant... don't get a salad! Mom loves the fried crunchy noodles on every table. You will find yourself aimlessly munching them. We got an order of the crab rangoon and that was the best thing we had for certain. My Hunan Shrimp lunch was pretty good. A nice big portion with a lot of steamed rice. I did get the egg roll, which is what you expect from a Northern Kentucky Chinese place. I wanted Hong Kong Chicken - that regional favorite - but you can't get that as a lunch special. They should re-think that. Mom had the BBQ Boneless Spare ribs and, yeah, you shouldn't do that. It looked like a big mess, wasn't easy to eat and she didn't care for it at all. I didn't try it because it didn't look like something I would enjoy. This one is a skip. Service is fast and efficient. They don't mess around here. It's a cheap lunch option and my family also likes it for takeout dinner. Worth a stop but set your expectations. read more

First time trying this place and I have to say It did not disappoint one bit! We went with combinations which comes with a meat, fried rice and an egg roll. Everything tasted amazing, the Sesame chicken and BBQ Boneless spare Ribs where really juicy, the rice was very tasty. Loved the chicken on the stick, they where meaty contrary to other restaurants, and the crab rangoons where all pretty filled up as well... simply delicious. I just ordered takeout at China Moon. I was driving North on I-75 and used Yelp to pick a Chinese restaurant. Yelp gave it 4 stars. I could not disagree more. I rarely comment on Yelp. It has to be really good or really bad. Sadly this was really bad! I love Chinese food. We got chicken and broccoli, Moogo Guy-pan and Szechwan pork. One was worse than the next. Too saucy, over cooked no texture they were horrible. People were nice food needs lots of improvement! They can do better. What they served me is not what the owners are eating. read more

Stopped in on a whim after a Kohl's visit. Service was prompt and courteous. Dining area was clean. I'm literally eating as I type this: hot and sour soup is excellent, not overly-oily and the perfect level of heat. Pork egg roll served hot and flavorful. I've given it another try and I'm just as grossed out the second time as I was the first. I ordered mix veggies and they were covered in a brown gelatin that tasted disgusting. This is a pretty good place, but it is NOT a buffet. With a name and location like it has, you would likely assume buffet. I judge Chinese restaurants mainly on their crab Rangoon and theirs got a 4 out of 5 (only one restaurant has gotten 5 stars - Cathay Kitchen in Florence, KY). Service was good and quick. We were disappointed when moving here and not finding the quality of Chinese food we were accustomed to. We finally tried China Moon in Walton. We ordered Orange Chicken and Kung Po Shrimp. The pork in the rice was crispy and loved that they had plenty of fresh diced onions. We were a little taken back with the peas- they were extremely dried but at least there were not very many. The next take out we had sweet & sour chicken and Crab Rangoon. The chicken was moist and tender and appeared to be made with all white meat and ia very generous portion! The rice is brown, which is ok I guess; just different, except it was dry and hard. The rice also contained peas that seemed freeze dried, they were hard and gross! The chicken was fine. Nothing special, had a nice spice but not special. The egg roll was like multiple layers of he wrapper and very little filling. It tasted fine.
