We were in town for the evening and were on the hunt for any non-hamburger meal. We saw an ad for the China One Buffet and all my feel good buttons were pushed. Oriental cooking is usually a fairly healthy choice and it's a buffet and I really enjoy buffets. It seems as though there's always something to like. Arriving at the restaurant I was pleased to see that the small parking area was busy and I was anticipating a great meal. (Apparently I missed that the the China One Buffet was the only Asian restaurant in town.) Look, I don't normally like to trash someone's business' but there isn't a lot to brag on here. First, the buffet was not offered on the Sunday evening we visited, so we ordered from a menu. I opted for the broccoli beef (fried rice and egg roll included) the wife went for sweet and sour chicken (white rice and egg roll included) she also had a bowl of egg drop soup. Add two bottles of water and the total bill was about $25. She said the soup was average, but noted that the soup seemed somewhat salty. Her chicken chunks were also ok, (but not special) and the white rice was ....well... white rice. My meal was, in my opinion, not good, they served the broccoli (nicely cooked and still crunchy) and beef with a sauce that was too sweet and not terribly tasty. Unfortunately they used so much sauce that the fried rice was soggy with it. Speaking of the rice, it was super salty. (Thank goodness I didn't use soy sauce!) As far as the egg roll was concerned, I've had better from the frozen food aisle. On the up side serving portions were somewhat above average. I finished about half my meal before calling it quits. Ok, Covid has been long gone yet these people didn't get the memo. What are they afraid of? It's called China One BUFFET. If they're not going to offer the buffet ever again then they should change the name or close. I want a variety. So disappointed. read more

Great chinese food. Fast, hot, delicious usually. Great crab Rangoon... which isn't as easy to find as one might think. They took my Almond Chicken off the menu though, which makes me very, very sad. read more

Found this gem while lazing around Wisconsin today. We're always down with a Chinese buffet, so we decided to stop in since it was dinner time. Not a huge selection of offerings, but everything was delicious! Crisp on the fried items and lots of flavor in everything. They even had crab legs on a Saturday afternoon! If we find ourselves in this part of the state again we will definitely be back here! read more

I would have liked to see a few more choices on the buffet. My visit was on a Friday and I'd been torn between Chinese and Fish Fry...some baked cod and/or battered, fried fish would have been nice. They did offer a salmon selection, which would have excited me, but what was being served during my visit tasted as sad as it looked. Why 4 stars then? The place was clean, friendly, attentive without hovering, and accommodating when I requested extra coconut sauce, but mostly because of the shrimp. Their shrimp was done perfectly! I did not have to merely tolerate tiny, tough shrimp as found at most buffets, but instead, truly enjoyed medium/small shrimp generously included in the entrees, served alone (battered/fried in tempura, tossed in coconut sauce), and not overly coated butterflied n breaded. The shrimp made the visit worth it, but most of the other food was enjoyed as well. Wether or not I recommend a Chinese buffet usually depends on the egg roll, crab ragoon, egg drop soup, and egg foo yung. I was very happy with taste and size of egg rolls (they offered both spring roll and egg roll wraps) and ragoon. I was too excited about the shrimp to taste the soup, and, unfortunately, egg foo yung was not offered on the buffet. Overall, I did enjoy my quiet dinner alone and will absolutely visit again, perhaps with family or friends. read more

A great little place here in town. I stayed here for the House on the Rock attraction and hotel, and went to this place for lunch. For under $10 a person, you cant complain. Standard Chinese buffet. Had three rows of food, one row with more appetizers (egg rolls, rangoons, pot stickers, etc), one with food (meat entrees, rice, noodles, soups), and one with fresh fruit and desserts. Good service. Nothing spectacular but also no complaints. read more

We ordered to go a couple of weeks ago and food was good. Sweet and Sour Pork was not what it is supposed to be. Sweet and Sour Pork is fried pork mixed into the Sweet and Sour Sauce with Onions, Green Bell Pepper, and Pineapple. That is the way I have always had it in California.
