Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday while camping. We made reservations and were seated right away. I ordered the rhubarb martini and it was absolutely delicious. The garlic bread is also super yummy. I ordered a filet mignon with asparagus and a side of onions and mushrooms. My bf ordered the 14oz steak. Unfortunately my steak was lacking flavor there was no seasoning at all. No salt or pepper here. My steak was extremely dry. I didnt enjoy it much. The asparagus was okay, again no salt or pepper here. My boyfriends steak tasted much better. The garlic mashed potatoes are also good. We ordered a bourbon old fashioned and it was super good. For dessert the star of the night was the triple berry creme brulee. It was decadent. Wr enjoyed it very much. Would we return? Absolutely. I would just order something else next time. It's been a while, but I love how they have renovated the place. Their menu has also stepped-up significantly. Every dish was prepared and presented like a tasty work of art. My whole family had another wonderful dinner experience. It was packed, so it was a bit louder, but we didn't mind. We were distracted by all the food. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. They even had a bit of a squeak. The haystacks were enjoyed even by my family who didn't like onions. The prize app were the pork bellies. Tender, meaty, and covered with a sweet tangy bourbon glaze. I could've eaten those as an entree! My filet was a perfect med-rare. Tender with just the right amount of char. The ribeye was prepared with the same tender perfection as well. My son, who lives in Chicago, said his steak rivaled those of the steakhouses in Windy City. He really enjoyed his filet. The scallops were seared to perfection, and they were nestled in a bed of soft, warm, creamy risotto. And I mean CREAMY. It's the way they should be made. HPSH doesn't skimp either on the number of scallops; we had to box up the rest. We didn't have room for dessert, but we did box some up for later.....and they tasted great. Tonight was one of my first nights out since October, and we ventured to a family favorite - @hipointsteakhouse! If you haven't been there, you need to put it on your list. My mom had Baked Onion Soup and the light side Jumbo Shrimp with Hashbrowns. She tells me it is some of the best Baked Onion Soup around so be sure to order it! I had the new menu feature - Scallops with Butternut Squash Risotto. It was amazing! Highly recommend. And, we had my all-time favorite ice cream drink for dessert - a Charlie Brown. We passed it all the time when I was young, but my parents felt it was too extravagant to visit on camping weekends. I'm pretty sure the only time we ate here was in about 1976. I finally dropped in for a second meal in 2026, fifty years later. They welcomed me in even though I looked like hell. I had blood all over the right leg of my pants from a big cut in my hand that I'd just had stitched up. No problem, they said, and they put me in a booth near the rear. Perfect solution. Still a 5-Star experience. The post fire remodel is really quite lovey. Same vibe, but updated to include an outside patio. My Manhattan was expertly crafted! No complaints about companion's old fashioned. Both of our steaks were very well prepared. All steaks come with a choice of salad and another side. At the last minute they were able to accommodate 8 of us at the last minute and we received a table quickly on Thursday night. We all had different entrees, but everybody said their food was Phenomenal. Service was amazing and it was so great to have a server who was attentive. All the sides were so good and everybody even took dessert even though we didn't eat it there, we all eat it later. I would highly recommend dining here if you're in the area and I do know that if we are in the area again with family, we will definitely return. read more

What a cluster this place is! I made a reservation on line and said I would be contacted if my reservation is accepted. This is what I got: You are notified of a reservation at Point Steakhouse for two guests on October 25, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. One would think that you have a reservation. Drove an hour to try a new place just to be told we don't have a reservation. This is unacceptable! We were told 1:45 to 2 hr wait. Why take reservations at all?? I was just told the wording was incorrect. Guy some adults to manage this place cause it was just very young girls running around and obviously know nothing about customer service!!! We ended up going to the HillTop just south of Cross Plains on Hwy P. Excellent place with the best prime rib, salad or soup, hot rolls and choice of potato or vegetable of the day! Amazing food. It's in the middle of nowhere but worth the trip. Make a reservation, if that's any indicator. If they're full then order off a slightly limited to-go menu and picnic at Governor Dodge State Park a few minutes west. Also, they catered a wedding in Madison. Amazing top quality. For a wedding, strongly recommend moderate upgrades on top of their premium ?gold? offering...plus buffet style was just perfect and enabled socializing. Came here with a group of 5 and overall liked it. I got thr baked onion soup which was a bit too salty for my liking but still OK. The house relish tray was very good and offered more variety than most supper clubs - they also put their own spin on their rolls which were tasty. The rest of the group got steaks and all had good reviews - I got the shrimp scampi and found it was pretty plain and not super flavorful so was a bit disappointed in that. Service was very good and lots of drink options, including a few mocktails. I would go back again if in the area and try a few of their other dishes! I had my birthday dinner here with my mother, cousin, and a family friend. The food and service were both excellent. I had the 8 ounce filet with salad and garlic mashed potatoes, others had the walleye, and a nightly special of beef tips over garlic mashed potatoes. Everyone said their food was excellent. Haven't eaten here for about 10 years and was pleasantly surprised. All the employees, including the bartenders, were genuine, friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional. One of my party had the chicken cordon blue and thought it was the best he ever had. The appetizers and salads were first rate, and the deserts, made in house, were fabulous. I regret that I don't remember the name of our waitress, but she was outstanding, it was like our party of 4 was her only table (it wasn't). She was really attentive without being obtrusive. We had a 4:45 reservation and arrived on time. We had a few minutes to get a drink at the bar before being seated. I had a Honeycrisp Old Fashioned and my husband had a brandy old fashioned sour. Both were very well made. Gina was our waitress when we were seated and she was phenomenal. We started with an order of cheese curds as required in Wisconsin . They were perfect and served with a delicious ranch dressing. I upgraded to the seasonal spinach and strawberry salad which had fresh strawberries, feta, candied walnuts and a light and not overly sweet strawberry vinaigrette. My husband's side salad came on mixed greens with a nice mix of veggies and croutons. Coming to a steak house, we both broke with the norm and ordered fish. He had pan-fried walleye with steak fries and I had the pecan-crusted salmon with a honey maple glaze and baked potato. We both cleared our plates! Our service was top notch as well as the food. Hi Point never disappoints; the food and service is always spectacular. By far the nicest restaurant I've been to in WI so far. Everything I've tried here is yummy and worth the price. Somehow Hi Point manages to make a southwestern vibe (think Wild West decor) feel fancy. Fancy without being pretentious, that is. I always try to go for the specials (usually 2-3 per night to choose from) such as their bacon mac & cheese topped with a lobster tail or their bone-in filet with a truffle sauce (so good). Sometimes they'll run out of the special if it's particularly popular, so don't get too set on one when you see the sign out front until the server let's you know what's available. When I don't get the special I'll usually get their Hi Point Special (rib eye) or Pheasant Puff Pastry. I have to try my best to stay away from their endless complimentary bread to save room for the actual meal and always fail because the bread is so good. They also make the best Brandy Old-Fashioned. Highly recommend trying one here. I've had a handful of different servers and they are all very attentive and friendly no matter how busy it gets. My water glass was never empty - this place is definitely a well-oiled machine. Make a reservation; even if it's the day-of, you can make one online before they open. You'll probably still have to wait 5-10 minutes for your table but you can hang at the bar or order drinks at the high tables until then. If you're looking for a nice dinner out with some really great food look no further. read more

Several disappointments. The one good thing was the Filet was delicious. The hashbrowns were odd, not sure if the was anise or fennel but did not taste good. My daughter and I went for the first time on 9/21. We made a reservation, but they could not find it. We sat at the bar and they eventually said they found our reservation and sat us at a table. The restaurant is really pretty. The filet comes with salad and choice of potato. I asked for green beans in place of the salad and they said no substitutions. It said that on the menu so I told the waitress that I will have the salad then. The waitress said I could order the beans, but they would be full price. I told I would just have the salad. When asked what potato, I told her the hashbrowns. We enjoyed an appetizer, but we had to wait quite a while for our second round of drinks and I had to catch her and ask for that round, even though our glasses sat at the end of the table, empty, for about 10 minutes. When the check came, we both had the Filet and they were different priced. My daughters was $41.99 and mine was $44.98. When I asked the waitress why mine was more, she said the hashbrowns were an upgrade and it was $1.99 extra. Now....why didn't she tell me that when she knew I skipped the green beans for pretty much that same reason? I told her that my check is still wrong because if it is $1.99 upcharge, the cost would be $43.98, not $44.98. She said she was sorry for the upcharge and that I did not know it was an upcharge (did not see this note on the menu) and did nothing to correct my check. Our meal was $175 with the tip. I am not being a cheapskate if I am going to spend this kind of money on dinner out, but I do not appreciate being ripped off for little things like this AND them not fixing my overcharged amount for the upgrade. Normally, this place is great. Not tonight. Waitress was awesome. Pleasant and accommodating. All our meal was cold. Soup, Crab Legs, Lobster, Steak, Au Jus and dipping butter.....tempid You can have a hot rare steak. Au jus was basically cold Worcestershire sauce. I ordered lobster and t was overly seasoned with Paprika. I hate paprika. Why do they ruin the taste of sweet lobster with a putrid seasoning? Our food did not pass the "butter test". If it does not melt on steak, lobster, hash browns, au jus or in the melted oil served with seafood, that is a red flag. The "butter" that came with our seafood was in a communal dish. I like to add salt to it and could not as my date can not have additional salt, he likes to add lemon and I can not have that. Here is my suggestion: serve hot food. If a patron has to wait for it cool down that is a good thing. Serve seafood with real butter. Don't melt real butter and skim off the whey. That is where the flavors. I added the bread butter to give it taste but......you guessed it, it did not melt. They have great tenderloins, rib eyes, but not the Prime Rib. It is tasteless and was very rare. (I was not asked how I wanted it prepared.) I will continue to go there, just know what not to order. read more

Seemed to be just enough tables to accommodate the wait. People started ordering the frozen blended supper club drinks. When we got seated, dinner was great and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Had a 7:00 reservation and STILL waited 50+ minutes for a table. Why have reservations? Two attempts at a Lemon Drop martini and somehow hot even a hint of Lemon flavor. I went to two different bartenders for these and even asked for Tito's for the second one and my wife still said they were the two worst Lemon Drop martinis she has ever had. Two separate parties who arrived AFTER we did were seated before us (they arrived after our 7:00 reservation time). They gave a table they told me they would give us to another couple who - again - arrived AFTER our reservation time. Once seated, we waited ___ minutes. Our waitress *hustled* to get us rolls and take our orders. This negative experience was definitely not her fault. Warm dinner rolls were fresh and tasty. Next stop in the quest to hit all the hot spot supper clubs and this one has earned the top spot so far! Super easy to make a reservation (and definitely do so on a Friday night) on the easily-navigated website. Old-fashioneds to start and I'm by no means an expert but it wasn't bad! This novice likes a brandy sweet and my frame of reference for best of - Ishnala. Fruit wasn't muddled which was a little disappointing. Friday fish fry was the main event and I ordered hashbrowns and the house salad as my accompaniments. The sides are important to me. These hashbrowns were excellent. Seasoned well, with a nice crispy exterior and so much better than any other place I've tried so far. The fish was breaded perfectly - not too much, a perfect golden brown, seasoned well and flaky perfectly cooked fish within. I bartered with my mom and snagged a gulf shrimp in exchange for a piece of fish and we were both delighted with that exchange! The service was lovely. Again, this has been my favorite on the supper club tour and I anticipate being back before long - the shrimp is a standing menu item and I bet it's a nice place to relax on a summer evening! read more

Wowza, I love Hi Point Steakhouse! We went for my grandparents' 60th anniversary with a group of 14. We started in the bar area before our reservation and grabbed drinks. My classic old fashioned was tasty and made right. It was full to the brim! We were soon seated in the dining room and luckily had an incredible hostess and waitress helping the group. Service was prompt with garlic rolls and a salad offering (the special salad was phenomenal that night). I ordered the chicken cordon bleu which was OH SO GOOD! Very cheesy as it is both encrusted and lightly sauced with local Hook's cheese. Garlic smashed potatoes as a side were not super hot but they were tasty. The rest of the group got a variety of dishes, from steaks to the special of seafood Wellington. The waitress was quick, kind, and everything came out perfect for each person. Lots of check-ins and drink refills, too. Service peaked when my boyfriend left his leftovers at the table and a server came running out through the snow to give them to us. The newly redecorated Hi Point steakhouse is lovely. We stopped on our way home not having been there for a very long time. We were surprised to see the new decor from top to bottom. Beautiful!! The food was fresh and tasty. We chose from the "lighter fare" menu. My husband had the lightly breaded two piece cod dinner and I had the rib eye steak sandwich. Both were perfection. The rib eye was so flavorful!! Both meals came with hot dinner rolls, and we chose fresh salad with homemade salad dressing but there were potato choices as well. Also, we are old fashioned snobs (being from Wisconsin) and our rye old fashioned were great!! We are so glad we stopped here for dinner. It is definitely worth the drive to Ridgeway!! read more

This was our second visit. I made reservations via email after the restaurant was closed. I was pleasantly surprised that they confirmed within minutes. Nice customer service. We arrived a few minutes early on a busy Friday night. After checking in, we were asked to wait in the bar until our table was ready. By the time our drink order was filled our table was ready. Having been here before I knew that they are all about the "turn" and not about the dining experience. This was verified by our waitress who told us a party of 24 was due to arrive and we may want to put our order in right away. I said we'd been there before and knew that the food came out fast so we'd like to order appetizers, then order dinner after we went to the salad bar. (On our previous visit both the soup and entree arrived before we finished our salads). She was totally fine with that and kept us up to date on the large party. The crab cakes, 3 to an order, were good. Average, not spectacular and a good value. Just seemed odd to me that there were 3 instead of an even number. The salad bar was fresh, nicely stocked, had a large number of toppings and a good selection of crackers. The real reason you come here is the steak -- 21 day aged beef. My husband's steak, the special, was a 45 day dry aged ribeye. Both were very flavorful, perfectly cooked, and tender -- excellent steaks. Dinners include the salad bar and a choice of vegetable or potato. I chose the vegetable which was asparagus that night. Tender crisp and perfectly done. My husband ordered the hash-browns. They were so over the top crisp and browned that we all decided that was the only side we'd 'ever order again. Dinner is reasonably priced and service is great. I highly recommend a visit. A true Wisconsin supper club. Update to this review. They are closed due to Covifod19 but are offering carry out and delivery in a limited area. This is a restaurant worth supporting during these hard times. Not only do they have excellent food and service, they are supporting the community with free lunches for those hit the hardest by work closures. When you reopen I will be one of your first customers. Really miss your excellent steaks, but I have to admit I come for the salad bar. Steaks make excellent leftovers. read more

We had booked an anniversary party for my husband's parents here at their grand ballroom (building separate from the restaurant). We heard the news that there was a fire and were concerned about our event possibly being cancelled. We were immediately reassured by them that the event would go on without a hitch and they were right! Food was excellent, service was fantastic and they were so helpful/responsive with our millions of questions leading up to the event. Despite their setback they really showed us that their #1 priority is the experience of their customers. Tried Hi Point on a Thursday night for the first time. Was very impressed in how clean the place was. Hostess and server were great. We ordered 2 daily specials: chicken parmesan and Pork Cutlets. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. Both included salad bar... which was super fresh. Can't wait to try their "famous hash browns". I'll be back!
