We drove an hour and paid $36 ea for the all you can eat crab leg buffet that they are doing on Friday nights. Definitely needed a reservation, they were booked up and had to turn people away who were showing up without a reservation. The sides were all meh at best, but we were there for crab. And it was delicious! There was never a wait of more than a couple minutes for them to replenish. Living in the midwest, opportunities like this don't come all that often so I love that they are doing this and it would be awesome for it to be a regular thing. My understanding at this time is it's for a short time only. But maybe that'll change. Get your fill while you can I guess! Tables around us were ordering off the regular menu and everything I got to look at as it walked by looked very yummy and all the guests around us seemed to be enjoying their food no matter what it was. Our waitress was very attentive in refilling our water, taking our plates, and checking in with us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a lovely atmosphere, and overall it was a satisfying experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have no complaints, which seems pretty rare these days.

Steak and salad bar were amazing! Steak was perfectly cooked. Also loved the soup & salad bar. Great Service from Amy.

So the meal started well with a good Brandy Old Fashioned. It coasted from there. The rolls we purchased but served with cinnamon butter - ok. (Why is the butter and whipped butter on the table from a dairy in Houston,TX?!?). The shrimp cocktail was fresh shut 5 shrimp for $10 is a bit steep. It was the best of the appetizers, as the others were crumb coated, not battered, and out of a freezer bag. The broasted chicken special was dried out so as to resemble fried chicken and the mashed potatoes were served with beef gravy. The baked walleye was well made and served with melted butter (not clarified). The garlic mashed potatoes were tasty but had sat under a heat lamp long enough to develop a dried skin. The server, was not very attentive despite not being overly busy. Long story short- good bar, meh meal.

We had the worst Friday fish, EVER! The fish was so dry and the side vegetables were awful. Do not waste your money!

Food was bad and service was worse. Never got the salad I ordered. Do yourself a favor and go to the Culver's across the street.

The restaurant itself is pretty nice & had great service. The food didn't really do it for me. It's not bad, it's just way overpriced.

While we didn't try the BBQ we had such flavors like no other in the double smash burger and the smoked salmon (baked). The collard greens, grits, (best we have ever had!!) and french fries were all perfectly cooked, food was hot and our server, Rusty, was a pure delight! He was very knowledgeable and he had fantastic recommendations from the salmon to the delightful key lime pie we had for dessert! He was so attentive, but never intrusive. We saw on the sandwich board outside on the sidewalk, that the meats are wood smoked, and so we are already looking forward to trying those next time! We also noted they serve a weekend brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's until 2 pm... so that's also in our minds to check out and spread the word! Dairy free and gluten free items marked on their menu also.... very very highly recommended, they updated their menu about a year ago we were told... it's worth the drive!

The…read moreplace is so cool - it still has the old exterior of the Spring Green State Bank and a very cozy atmosphere that still makes you feel like you're back in the bank... just elevated. There was even a children's section where kids could play around and be supervised by a parent with a drink or something. Great classic kids books in there too -- love the Busy World of Richard Scarry. I would have given this a 5star review because my food was overall 5star, but there were just too many issues in timing and service and such not to make note of. This was an event where all tables were sat at the same time. Tables were getting their first appetizer before we even got our drinks, and our drinks didn't come out together at all. One person in our party had Celiac but they forgot to bring out a gluten free appetizer, so the rest of us finished our appetizer before she even got hers. Probably not what staff was used to with everything at the same time, I get it, it just wasn't a very good start. It was also freezing to start inside and I kept my jacket on through the first course. Then it warmed up. Old building with radiators, also totally get that, but if the seating was staggered and that front door kept opening, it would have been miserable. After our drinks and appetizers, timing worked out on the rest of the meals. Everything was wonderful and the menu was so thoughtfully laid out. The only other snafu was our secondi course of pappardelle with wild mushrooms had no mushrooms in it, like zero. The gluten free dish had a ton of them and looked really good. It wasn't worth bringing up given the timing issues, and even without the mushrooms the pasta was absolutely delicious. Scallops were cooked to perfection, though if the risotto had saffron in it I couldn't tell at all. Still, I didn't leave one single scrap on ANY of my plates. Despite any issues, the staff was so kind throughout and they were all obviously rushing around trying to get everyone everything they needed. Great food, lovely staff, amazing ambiance -- yes, I'll definitely try to come back here if I'm ever out this way.

We decided to start with the artichoke dip which was a generous amount and tasted great. The chips were salty but that's what you get for commercial bagged chips. My Bloody Mary was delicious. Thick and full of flavor, just the way I like them. At least really good for anywhere in WI that I have found so far. I had the thin crust hot honey pizza w added black olives and mushrooms. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this pizza. It was just so good! Just the right amount of honey sweetness to offset the salty of the cheese and pepperoni! I could have gorged myself and ate the whole thing, but I did restrain myself fortunately. We had a couple slices reheated in the air fryer for a late snack (we NEVER do this!)", and my husband decided he was also a fan. He had a burger and o'rings that he thought the beef was bland and the o'rings were too greasy. Over all, it was a very nice meal and the whole staff that interacted with us were so very friendly. Everyone kept asking how the food was and made sure we didn't need anything else. We drive over 30 minutes just to get other options than the few local places here that don't offer much. We are going back today to have the pizza again.

The menu is quite small which I appreciated but still had a hard time deciding what I wanted to enjoy because they all sounded so yummy. They use fresh local ingredients as much as possible ensuring that they support the local region and aligns beautifully with the concept of Frank Lloyd Wright. It was a rainy day so I opted for comfort with grilled cheese and a soup of the day. The gooey cheese sandwich with aged cheddar and Gouda paired perfectly with my potato bacon soup. My friend opted for the kale chicken salad that included ingredients for a scrumptious fall salad with pepitas, cranberries, butternut squash, goat cheese and sherry shallot dressing. The set up is order at the counter, find a seat and they bring your food to you. It was a really quiet day and our food came out quickly. My whole family had another wonderful dinner experience. It was packed, so it was a bit louder, but we didn't mind. We were distracted by all the food. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. They even had a bit of a squeak. The haystacks were enjoyed even by my family who didn't like onions. The prize app were the pork bellies. Tender, meaty, and covered with a sweet tangy bourbon glaze. I could've eaten those as an entree! My filet was a perfect med-rare. Tender with just the right amount of char. The ribeye was prepared with the same tender perfection as well. My son, who lives in Chicago, said his steak rivaled those of the steakhouses in Windy City. He really enjoyed his filet. The scallops were seared to perfection, and they were nestled in a bed of soft, warm, creamy risotto. And I mean CREAMY. It's the way they should be made. HPSH doesn't skimp either on the number of scallops; we had to box up the rest. We didn't have room for dessert, but we did box some up for later.....and they tasted great.
