Chips and salsa

This was a nice Mexican restaurant. It was also very convenient to our hotel. I'm never quite sure what to expect with anything other than American food in a small town. This was recommended so we tried it for an early dinner. The service is what stands out. We had a young man who served us. He had a big and constant smile on his face and was very pleasant. Their menu is large with a wide variety of dishes. They bring you the menus along with a basket of chips and salsa. We knew what we wanted before arriving. Looking at their menu, online, we wanted fajitas. When we got there, we saw their different options for fajitas. One was chicken, steak, or both. We also had a coke and a Horchata. The food was also served quickly, although it was a little disjointed. After dropping the meat, peppers, and onions the phone rang. Our server must have been covering the phones. There was a small delay before they dropped off the rice, beans, and salad . They also brought a generous serving of corn tortillas. I don't know why but we saw fajitas being served on the traditional sizzling plates. Ours was delivered on foil on a raised platform of some sort. The food was good. The beans were outstanding. I'm not much of a rice eater so can't comment. The salad was fresh and crisp, and had a small amount of guacamole in it. The fajitas were nice. Certainly not the best we've had, but the chicken and beef were extremely tender. It was a little disappointing to see how little beef they served. There was much more chicken. The peppers and onions were good, and they were the majority of the fajitas. In total, it was still a lot of food. They also have a nice collection of hot sauces at the table - they had Chalula and six bottles of local hot sauces. All in all, it was okay. There were some really delicious parts of the meal, and there were others that were not as good This is a respectable, and I believe family owned restaurant. While not the best Mexican food I've had, it isn't bad. I don't think there are many Mexican options around so give it a try.

We were from out of town and my son wanted Mexican food. This seemed to be the only place in the area. I'm not sure if this place just opened, but it was very busy. Overall the place is very nice. You can eat at the 'bar' or get a table. We got the last table when we got there a little before 6. It did take some time for the waiter to get to us and order after getting our drinks. I very rarely see ceviche on the menu so when I saw that I new I had to try it. We also ordered cheese dip and French fries for my son. I had a margarita and he had a lime jarritos soda. The chips and salsa were good, the cheese dip was good and the ceviche was great. The portion size was enough for a few people to share! It comes with 'saltines,' don't be alarmed these aren't saltine crackers, but little flat tortillas. Had we been heading home I would have taken the leftovers with me, because it was that good, but we weren't so I sadly left them there. I'm only docking the one star because service was a bit slow. I do understand they were busy but they definitely could have used another waiter/waitress on. We waited like 20 minutes just to get our bill. I would come back again though.

I just moved to WI from LA and I was quite worried I wouldn't find a good Mexican place here. I've been to Corralejo three times since it opened and my worries are eased! The entrees are great. I've had the fajita quesadilla lunch special with carne asada and the mixed fajita dinner with carne and chicken. I've also stolen bites of my parents meals when I went with them (my mom got a seafood dish and my dad got the ribeye, both very good). They have a good selection of hot sauces. The chips are not fresh made and their guac doesn't have much of a kick to it for my taste (personal preference) but the salsa is good and frankly I'm impressed by everything else so that doesn't deter me from giving 5 stars. I'm looking forward to trying more of their options in the future - their menu is huge! And very reasonably priced. I was impressed by the service given how popular this place is and how many people they have to serve. The servers are friendly. When it gets really busy you may have to flag someone down but you will be helped immediately and I never felt impatient or anything waiting to get served or for the check. The ambience is warm and inviting. It's a family friendly place and overall happy satisfied vibes. Expect a bit of a wait for dinner on weekends for sure. Lunch is a lot less busy. You can also call and order for pick up.

Full bar. RICO! MU CASA. exceptional service. Authentic Anerican Mexican cuisine. Great salsa and plenty of great spots to hide out. Seating tables from 2 to 10. Delicious. Fajitas. Did I just say Fajitas? Fah-hee- tah. So many ways to eat them. Only or way to say it. Fantastic.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! Convenient location right on Main Street in Dodgeville. We will definitely be back again.

Great Mexican food in Dodgeville. Corralejo's is certainly competitive with any other great local Mexican Restaurant in Platteville or Mt. Horeb. I went twice last week and have been DYING to go back! The food is excellent and the menu is extensive. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is casual and comfortable, and the prices are totally reasonable (lower priced lunch options, kids options, deserts, adult beverages, all of the traditional Mexican dishes and then some new ones I want to try. DEFINITELY one of the top 3 restaurants in Dodgeville (personally I think it's the TOP RESTAURANT - but I should go a few more times, just to be sure)! I'm already planning on going again tomorrow!

The place was completely packed but our food came out with little delay and everything tasted great. Our server tried to be attentive but was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of people. As I said the place was packed so it was quite loud the usual decor of pinatas, sombreros and streamers. We will go back on a less busy time.

Chips (not the stake kind you usually get at places) and salsa were served to start. There were 4 in our party but I only got pictures of two of our meals (a few bites missing as I almost forgot to take a picture). My son had the Enchiladas Mexicanas, which he said was flavorful and delicious. The description says the sauce is mole but didn't specify exactly which mole it was. He wasn't disappointed in whichever it was. I had the Taquitos Dorados. Three come on the platter with guacamole, sour cream and a small salad in the center. My picture only has 2 as, again, I almost forgot about taking a picture. When the food was brought to the table, there was confusion on whose meals she was bringing as the young lady called the dishes something else and appeared to not understand what we were asking when trying to clarify what she had. That was really the only service glitch. We paid using the QR code on the receipt. Although it said it took Apple Pay, that button wasn't working and we needed to enter the credit card manually. They do offer a cash discount so the prices on the menu do appear to be inclusive for credit card payments. Tip suggestions in the bottom appear to be based on the total with credit card payments and the sales tax. Overall, it was a delicious meal and we'll be back but not on a regular basis due to the higher priced menu. It'll be great for a nice meal out on occasion.

By far the best Mexican food in the dells. It's fairly loud so definitely not an ideal place for quiet or intimate. They have something for everyone though! The rice and beans are made without lard, butter or any stocks. I.e., vegan! I had carne asada fries and chorizo tacos which I took home because the asada fries were thicc. Wife had Rojas tacos and Rojas fries. We also had margaritas and they were tasty! Overall very happy and this is on our usual stops going forward!!

one of the BEST Mexican restaurants I've had in a long time, and baby... it was FIRE…read more Now let me start with the one thing that bothered me. When I first walked in, I wasn't greeted. I was looking around for a menu to place a takeout order and there was a family ahead of me taking up most of the entrance area. Kids were running around, people were sitting everywhere, and it was honestly hard to tell who had already ordered and who hadn't. While I stood there waiting, employees kept coming back to offer that family more things while I was completely overlooked. Eventually I got frustrated and left. Instead, I placed my order through DoorDash and went across the street to McDonald's to grab something for my babies while I waited. By the time I got back, my food was coming out fresh. Now for the good part... I ordered 2 steak tacos and 1 chorizo taco with onion and cilantro. It took me about 15 minutes to get back to where I was staying, and the food was still warm and held up perfectly. The first thing I noticed was how flavorful the meat was on its own. Nice char, great seasoning, and you could tell it was cooked with care. The corn tortillas were clearly fresh and tasted homemade. They pulled everything together perfectly. And this is my ultimate taco test... I saved one for later that night. Hours later, the tortilla still hadn't fallen apart. It wasn't soggy. It wasn't disintegrating. The taco was still intact. Now let's talk about the salsa. They gave me both salsa verde and salsa roja and LAWWWD. The flavor, the spice, the balance... they somehow made the tacos even better, and I didn't think that was possible. I'm so used to the watered-down, Americanized stuff people swear is authentic when it barely has any flavor. This was the real deal. If you're from the Chicago area or honestly anywhere and you're looking for authentic Mexican food with actual flavor, this place is worth it. And if you're visiting the Wisconsin Dells and want something good that's not ridiculously overpriced, put this spot on your list. I'll definitely be back before this trip is over and again the next time I'm in town.
