Love this festive restaurant. They have so much room to fit a whole big party or an event. We had a big group of about 9 people and were able to seat us in a few minutes after putting a few tables together. Service was great. You can practice Spanish if you'd like and the servers are very helpful and are well spoken. Decorations were very on point, colorful, and festive. I had a hard time picking out what to try so I had the server help me out. I tried the Corralejo plate that came with chicken steak and shrimp on a bed of stir fried veggies and Spanish rice. It was so good and had a generous portion. They were also generous with their chips and salsa. Margaritas were huge. My friend tried it and did get a bit tipsy from it. I'd say best horchata in Wisconsin! Not too sweet, not too creamy or milky. It was the right combo of ingredients. Would definitely come back!!! read more

This was a nice Mexican restaurant. It was also very convenient to our hotel. I'm never quite sure what to expect with anything other than American food in a small town. This was recommended so we tried it for an early dinner. The service is what stands out. We had a young man who served us. He had a big and constant smile on his face and was very pleasant. Their menu is large with a wide variety of dishes. They bring you the menus along with a basket of chips and salsa. We knew what we wanted before arriving. Looking at their menu, online, we wanted fajitas. When we got there, we saw their different options for fajitas. One was chicken, steak, or both. We also had a coke and a Horchata. The food was also served quickly, although it was a little disjointed. After dropping the meat, peppers, and onions the phone rang. Our server must have been covering the phones. There was a small delay before they dropped off the rice, beans, and salad . They also brought a generous serving of corn tortillas. I don't know why but we saw fajitas being served on the traditional sizzling plates. Ours was delivered on foil on a raised platform of some sort. The food was good. The beans were outstanding. I'm not much of a rice eater so can't comment. The salad was fresh and crisp, and had a small amount of guacamole in it. The fajitas were nice. Certainly not the best we've had, but the chicken and beef were extremely tender. It was a little disappointing to see how little beef they served. There was much more chicken. The peppers and onions were good, and they were the majority of the fajitas. In total, it was still a lot of food. They also have a nice collection of hot sauces at the table - they had Chalula and six bottles of local hot sauces. All in all, it was okay. There were some really delicious parts of the meal, and there were others that were not as good This is a respectable, and I believe family owned restaurant. While not the best Mexican food I've had, it isn't bad. I don't think there are many Mexican options around so give it a try. read more

We were from out of town and my son wanted Mexican food. This seemed to be the only place in the area. I'm not sure if this place just opened, but it was very busy. Overall the place is very nice. You can eat at the 'bar' or get a table. We got the last table when we got there a little before 6. It did take some time for the waiter to get to us and order after getting our drinks. I very rarely see ceviche on the menu so when I saw that I new I had to try it. We also ordered cheese dip and French fries for my son. I had a margarita and he had a lime jarritos soda. The chips and salsa were good, the cheese dip was good and the ceviche was great. The portion size was enough for a few people to share! It comes with 'saltines,' don't be alarmed these aren't saltine crackers, but little flat tortillas. Had we been heading home I would have taken the leftovers with me, because it was that good, but we weren't so I sadly left them there. I'm only docking the one star because service was a bit slow. I do understand they were busy but they definitely could have used another waiter/waitress on. We waited like 20 minutes just to get our bill. I would come back again though. read more

Imagine our surprise to find such flavorful, savory and filling mexican food so far north. We were enticed by the reviews and the reviews don't lie! Although the salsa is mild, tabletop sauces are at hand to spice it up. We enjoyed a huge fajita burrito with a great sauce and the birria tacos. I just moved to WI from LA and I was quite worried I wouldn't find a good Mexican place here. I've been to Corralejo three times since it opened and my worries are eased! The entrees are great. I've had the fajita quesadilla lunch special with carne asada and the mixed fajita dinner with carne and chicken. I've also stolen bites of my parents meals when I went with them (my mom got a seafood dish and my dad got the ribeye, both very good). They have a good selection of hot sauces. The chips are not fresh made and their guac doesn't have much of a kick to it for my taste (personal preference) but the salsa is good and frankly I'm impressed by everything else so that doesn't deter me from giving 5 stars. I'm looking forward to trying more of their options in the future - their menu is huge! And very reasonably priced. I was impressed by the service given how popular this place is and how many people they have to serve. The servers are friendly. When it gets really busy you may have to flag someone down but you will be helped immediately and I never felt impatient or anything waiting to get served or for the check. The ambience is warm and inviting. It's a family friendly place and overall happy satisfied vibes. Expect a bit of a wait for dinner on weekends for sure. Lunch is a lot less busy. Went for dinner to use a large gift card received from friends. Our friends included their paid receipt for/with the gift card. After having two dinner items (one with steak too tough and fatty to eat) and leaving a large cash tip at the table, went to pay with gift card only to be told gift card had a zero balance and we probably already used the balance up. We gave the receipt received with the card showing our friends had paid cash for the card. We're told this is common practice that customers try to use again after having already used, and they could not prove we hadn't used before. So we paid cash. They took a pic of card and receipt and our number saying they'd look into it. Then crickets. We will not be returning and will opt for Mi Casitas in nearby Darlington which has excellent food, service and very neat and clean. read more

We love Corralejo! The guacamole has tons of flavor without having large chunks of tomato or onion. My absolute favorite dish is Enchiladas Limones, but I swap the chicken for shrimp. The creamy lemon sauce is absolutely amazing. We also love the drinkware and have always been impressed with the service and cleanliness. read more

We heard this new restaurant was awesome, so we expected it be be really great food. We tried to like it... but... Food was just meh -- not typical from these smaller non chain Mexican restaurants! Ordered ceviche as appetizer and no real flavor to it, I make it at home, and its got a better blend of flavors compared to this! We decided on fajitas for 2 for our entree-- no sizzling platter, (as typical for fajitas) & was served on a tray covered with aluminum foil, with food on top of the foil, as if it had been just sitting like that in an oven, on warm, and thats the temp too: lukewarm. Note: when our fajitas arrived, they did NOT come to our table looking even close to the picture they show of their fajitas on here! Horchata was watery and arrived in a cup the size of a small mug. Noted, it was completely full of ice-- after it was drank. (Guessing you got 1/2 to 2/3 c at the very most!) We dropped $63 including tip for a very mediocre meal! Waiter was attentive. This past Friday we had a 5:30pm reservation for a party of nine. We were seated promptly, handed menus and were brought 3 large bowls of chips with salsas. The drinks were very generous in size and delicious. The waiter was polite even among a heavy crowd. The appetizers were large and fresh. Great guacamole! The prices on everything was very very reasonable and the service was terrific. We would like to highly recommend this restaurant as a "must visit" destination. Great Mexican food in Dodgeville. Corralejo's is certainly competitive with any other great local Mexican Restaurant in Platteville or Mt. Horeb. I went twice last week and have been DYING to go back! The food is excellent and the menu is extensive. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is casual and comfortable, and the prices are totally reasonable (lower priced lunch options, kids options, deserts, adult beverages, all of the traditional Mexican dishes and then some new ones I want to try. DEFINITELY one of the top 3 restaurants in Dodgeville (personally I think it's the TOP RESTAURANT - but I should go a few more times, just to be sure)! Really liked the decore and seating area. Food came out hot and fast, even though all tables were filled and we had party of 6, impressive. Food was very good, not excellent but very good. What a pleasant surprise to find Corralejo in Dodgeville as we were passing thru. Delicious enchiladas. Salsa (that comes with the crispy chips) was so good I put it on the rice and the salad too.
