NO! NO! NO! This is one of those instances where Zero stars would be appropriate. I was in the Ellenwood area visiting family and found this place. Really wish I have kept on driving. I walked in and the restaurant was empty and quiet ON A FRIDAY night! The ambiance was certainly in question from the beginning. A lady comes to take my order with food spilling out of her mouth. She took my order and then retreated to the back of the quiet, empty restaurant. Overall, it only took about 10 minutes to prepare my order so I sat inside. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, chicken fried rice, and vegetable Lo Mein. All fails. Chicken was crunchy and not tender at all. The rice was dry and the Lo Mein was not good at all. I won't be going back to this place as I feel as if I wasted time and money. However, I would say give it a try and see what your experience is. read more

China One used to be good. Now, their portions are much smaller and the meat portions have been reduced to half of what they were before. There are far better restaurant options to choose from as a result. China Panda on Flat Shoals is one to consider. read more

I've been coming here for a few years and have never had an issue with my food not the environment. Sometimes the kid is doing school work but why would that bother anyone? When im in the area this is the place I always go to for my Chinese food. I usually get the braised wings with shrimp fried hold the onions. Food always fresh and doesn't take overly long to cook. I need to branch out and try more dishes but always clean and quite. Seems to be family owned. I'm not sure of why people give them low ratings. read more

Not only did I not get what I ordered (where's my egg roll), this dish lacked protein. When I ordered it the women kept reminding me that Kung Pao CHICKEN contains peanuts. I'm not allergic, I told her. What I didn't know was that there is NO CHICKEN in the Kung Pao Chicken. I guess since peanuts LOOK like chinese chicken pieces, they just left out the chicken? I want to say maybe I was misunderstood and ordered the veggie version, but doesn't that atleast have TOFU? AND I DID NOT GET MY EGG ROLL. UNFORGIVABLE. I had the the fried rice and rice is was good. My sister had the sesame chicken meal. She said taste like it had been out on day and dried out. She made sure to say she would not return... me on the other hand I will return. I had no problem with my food. Food is usually good. Service isn't but for the most part it's your typical Chinese restaurant. Sometimes it's really smelly when I go in here. Like dirty mop water. I asked and the kid at the counter said they had just mopped. I asked how old the water was and he just stared at me like shut up. Lol But other than that the food taste good. They act as if they hate doing this job when you ask questions they get an attitude rolling eyes as if the customer irritates them. I have been in China One on three occasions. Food is not bad, although the people who run the restaurant have no clue how to behave! Mother on the phone having a 10 minute argument over her cell, the miserable son taking orders & does not greet you with a smile or say's thank you! They have quite the nerve to ask on your ticket for a tip! I love to tip for good service or higher! These individuals are taking for granted our patronage. I've been here on a couple of occasions, and all of them were horrible. The customer service is horrible, and everytime we have been there, either something was left out, or it was wrong. The young man at the desk is somewhat rude, in that when an order is left out, he will sit there and argue for 10 minutes over the phone. They do have a small child, maybe 6ish, who seems to belong to one of the employees, and she's usually pretty well behaved, but I find it sort of unsanitary that they let her run around the desk, the kitchen, everywhere. She's a young kid, she seems sweet enough, but I don't really think its good that she is around the food at that young. Last time we were here, my father ordered fried shrimp, it wasn't in the bag, and when my mother called to complain, the guy said that it should have been in one of those wax paper bags. No lid or anything. When my boyfriend got his food, it looked questionable... someone made the comment that it looked like fried cat. My mother decided just to drive down and get a refund, and return the food, but they threw a hissy fit that the food had been opened. Well, duh! As dinner, it had been taken out of packages, and started to be served. We are never going back there. Ever. It is worth it to drive the extra 0.2 miles to China Lily in the krogers center. I received terribly rude service last night! The female behind the counter became extremely aggressive and argumentative because I returned my food. My General Tso was overcooked and heavily breaded so I politely tried to explain that I'd like them to remake the dish. She rolled her eyes, made hissing sounds and proceeded to tell me that in twelve years no one had ever disliked their meal. What does that have to do with me not liking my food? She tried to assault me but her son (I presume he was her son) held her back as she tried to charge at me from behind the counter. She yelled that I have "no money". Poor service. Kids almost always running around and don't dare ask for your dry food to be separated from the wet food....its almost an insult. The food here can be decent. I like ordering chinese barbecue ribs sometimes, but on every occasion I have ordered the ribs I have been told they don't have any. This has been for more than a year now and I've tried at least 20 times at different times of the day. They are not far from my home, but it's really unbelievable they have an item on their menu that you are never able to order. The young man at the front is pleasant on few occasions. last night, 1-20-2016, this chinese witches customer service turned totally disrestful before i could even place an order. i walked in all smiles and i looked for their score, like i do everybody else. i didnt see it so i asked the lady at the counter if she would show it to me. it was like i asked her if she would let me have her store. she huffed and pointed to it and snatched away shaking her head in total disgust. the score was a 91. i gor huffed up too because of her disrespect and i said out loud in front of her customers " and you have a good score but i wouldnt buy anything from you if my life depended on it, i have a right to ask you for your score if i don't see it" and i walked out. i have dealt with her before. i try to make her smile by saying something nice or asking about her little boy who has his bed made up in the store. never will i or my husband go near there again. read more

I was excited when the rest of my family said we were having Chinese food for dinner. I thought can't go wrong with Chinese food. Oh how wrong I was. This place is located between an empty store (which is going to be turned into a Dollar Spree) and a dry cleaners. First off the health food inspector gave this place a 81. That really says something. I was going to go for the Sesame Chicken which is what I normally get when I get Chinese. However their menu said their Sesame Chicken is spicy ( who makes spicy sesame chicken?) so I looked at the Mongolian Chicken and that was also listed as spicy. I went with the Teryaki Chicken. When we got home I discovered that Teryaki Chicken actually can be disgusting. The veggies it came with were mushy, baby corn should never be mushy. My Grandma liked her Sweet and Sour Chicken and my cousin's fiance liked her spicy sesame chicken, but my cousin thought their spicy Mongolian Beef was nasty. Oh and they didn't include fortune cookies. Those cost something like 25 cents each. I don't recommend this place. I mean the food is somewhere around 8 dollars a plate.
