Sorry guys. I'm updating China Star by removing one star. Last time with my order, I requested a large spare-ribs. The bones were smaller than half-size, with almost no meat on them. Definitely didn't get what I paid for. It seems this place takes on too much and sacrifices quality and good service. I will still order certain items from here for convenience, but if I want a large order, I'll get my food from Toro. It's worth driving the extra 15 minutes there and back. read more

Possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever experienced in the Northeast. Dumplings were all gummy noodle and very little filling. The chicken on a stick was burnt and if it was chicken one would never know. The sweet and sour chicken was all breading, no chicken. The chicken in the chicken and vegetables was breaded and fried not sautéed and was so old/tough you couldn't cut it. The people behind the counter were unfriendly and border line rude. I ordered fried dumplings, beef chow fung, and tofu with garlic sauce. Once I ordered, the food arrived very quickly. The fried dumplings were very flavorful and delicious. It had the perfect ratio between the outside dough and the pork and cabbage on the inside. The beef chow fung had a savory sauce, thick noodles, and chewy beef that paired really well together. The tofu with garlic sauce was sweet and savory and the tofu was nice and crispy. This restaurant repeatedly has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The entire family is unnecessarily rude and they definitely don't know the proper way to treat their customers. The food was extremely cold, stale, and very soggy meat. Also, they didn't put any utensils in the take-out bag. Instead, they yelled at us when we called them to question it. I feel bad for giving 1 star but i get physically sick after eating anything here. Which stinks because I loved their egg rolls and their set and sour chicken. This is good, consistent takeout Americanized Chinese food. Good for post movie and after shopping dinners. There are several tables in the front for dine-in, but in cold weather you need to keep your jacket on. Best described as hearty but not gourmet. read more

When I moved to Patterson 4 yrs ago we use to get Chinese from China Star every Thursday. Once they changed owners about a year ago food quality and service declined so we been in search for a good Chinese place... a few months back we decided to give China Star another shot. Food was better service still not great... Today I went in during lunch which we never do. I came in at 2:56pm, please note I was gonna call but said to myself they shouldn't give me an issue since i knew lunch special ends at 3pm..came in first words out of the owners mouth no lunch specials i was like really, so i looked at my phone said 2:56p and showed her the time. She then made up all these stupid reasons why, tried blaming it on the chefs that they pre make them and their is no more, i just laughed. Once my order was done i was like this place is ridiculous and decided i wouldn't go back. Told the owner she just lost a customer... her response laughed and said thats ok i dont need your business then started to talk in Chinese to her daughter i think. So with that attitude she really must think her food is something else and their is no need to care about her customers. And she knows people will keep returning. I say people Only return bc her location is perfect So i leave you with this if she cant treat customers right, how does she treat her staff, and is the food really handled in the right way/ safe environment, lets really think about it.. unhappy customer and hope others dont have the same experience read more
