I've had pho from hundreds of restaurants and I would say Asian Kitchen is in my top 5. The usual Chinese American dishes are also a 10/10. I've lived in Bethel my whole life and I didn't know I needed this place until it opened. Will, the owner is a very charismatic person who's always so friendly and outgoing. Stopped by for a late lunch. Open floor. No one was there seated, but it was around 2pm on a Friday. We were led to a table against the wall. Waiter was friendly and gave us some time to make our selections. I chose the egg roll, tangerine beef. Hubby chose the orange chicken. I asked the waiter if the soda came in a can. He said yes. We then waited for our meal. He returned quickly with my soda, in a glass with lots of ice. Not what I expected. But I guess I wasn't specific about my drink order. My egg roll was good. Cut decoratively in half at an angle, piping hot. Our food arrived shortly. Both plates were generous and came with white rice. Cut a portion in small pieces to taste with rice. Tasted so good, burned my tongue a little it was so hot. Ate a bit more, and that's when my mouth started burning up! The dish was a little more spicy than I expected. Tried to eat more, but it was too much for me. My hubby on the other hand was in his glory. He Loves heat. The spiciest the better. He tried mine and said it was just as spicy as his, which he loved. So, I just thought we would take mine home for him to enjoy later. I have to say it was good, before I had to cry uncle. So would definitely have to return for another try and let them know I can't take the spiciness. I did notice that the restaurant was busy with takeout orders. So I guess that's their main business. So I wouldn't say this was a cozy place. But the food is good. Lots of parking outside since they're next to a supermarket and liquor store. There weren't any 'lunch' specials, so this was over $50 with tip. By the way, lots to choose from the menu. I only took pictures of some pages. read more

We try to go to the Chinese New Year every year and picked this spot based on the 4.7 stars and description of "cozy spot" in the restaurant write up. I got the Pho with duck, and my wife got the crispy duck dinner. Both dishes were "meh" at best. Below average. As far as service... it was harried and we were only one of two couples eating in this "NOT so cozy" restaurant. We went at 5:30 expecting to wait because it was small and "cozy" and it was Chinese New year. (1) no problem eating in during dinner hours (2) not a stitch of celebratory anything for Chinese New Year.. not even a place mat. No chinese noodles at the table and there was one continuous plain bench and brown tables (no table cloths) on the opposite side aka cafe style and cafeteria style seats. Hardly "cozy" at all. We ordered takeout from Asian Kitchen last night , and when we picked up they gave us a free drink and a couple mochi with our order! After a really hard couple weeks that really made my night. A reminder that small acts of kindness can go a long way! Food was yummy, not too greasy, and came in much bigger portions than I had expected. We're going to have leftovers for days. We ordered something I had never tried from here "Singapore Mei Fun" which I have gotten at previous Asian fusion restaurants. It was exactly what I was hoping, spicy and delicious! I didn't love that the spring rolls came in tin tray containers, as they got a little soggy from the drive home (probably more than they would have if they were just in a simple bag). Placed a delivery order. It was late for us to be eating dinner so we ordered appetizers. Our order consisted of a pork egg roll, (2) wonton soups, fried chicken wings, and BBQ spare ribs. Im not sure why Door Dash does not provide the address of the restaurant your ordering from. When I picked Asian Kitchen I did not realize it was Bethel CT. This restaurant turned out to be 20 minutes away. Yet all our food was still hot which was our 1st thumbs up. The wonton soup seemed like they could have been hand made and were delicious!! My pork egg roll was crispy yet somehow not too greasy. The fried chicken wings were big and crispy just quantity was lacking. Similar situation with the BBQ spare ribs since we were sharing five BBQ ribs left us a bit hungry. Overall our food arrived hot and was scrumptious. read more

As I sit here with a sore throat I try to remember where I have actually had a good pho in CT. Now I remember- this place. I am usually so let down by chicken pho but this one came out smelling perfectly fragrant of the spices I love in it, plus the chicken was not rubbery/bad as it often is. Tender pieces, though not a lot of it. Very flavorful broth. I remember the noodles were too overdone. Tried takeout from here to try the pho, even though our go-to has always been sprouts. The pho between the two restaurants is different from each other. The beef pho from Asian Kitchen is lighter and reminds me of Mecha in Norwalk/Fairfield where the broth is more cilantro based. The pho from Sprouts is a darker broth with more of the star anise/clove spices. Flavor wise it would be up to your personal preferences if you were choosing between pho from Sprouts or Asian Kitchen. Asian Kitchen would be easier to customize to your liking (with the addition of hoisin/basil, etc) since it starts off lighter. Portion wise, Sprouts gives you a small and large option while the one size from Asian Kitchen is smaller than the small from Sprouts and is more expensive, so for value - Sprouts is the winner. We also ordered the steamed veggie gyoza and sesame chicken. These were fine, nothing special but likely better than the other Chinese takeout restaurants in the area. As many other reviewers say, the food does not feel overly greasy. I would however, disagree with those who say the portions are huge as they just seem average-containers aren't bigger than normal. We also got a free glass of lemonade (tastes like Minute Maid) so that was a nice touch. This was my first time trying Asian Kitchen via door dash so I'll keep that in mind with my review. I ordered a beef and broccoli and chicken lo mein with pork egg roll and fried tempura ice cream. Probably a bad idea doing a tempura ice cream via door dash since it was melty and soggy by the time it arrived (still finished it though because flavor was good). The beef and broccoli and chicken lo mein seemed to lack some flavor for me. I think it needed more salt or soy sauce, something felt missing. They do give a very generous amount though. The pork egg roll was delicious! Food arrived fast as well. I may have to try it in person one day. read more

Great new Asian restaurant on Greenwood. Very hospitable and gave me some chicken to sample and mochis, which we appreciated. Ordered lunch special on. Sunday. Pho was very tasty (didn't take pic, sorry). Sesame chicken is thinly sliced and flavorful. Got traditional lo Mein and chicken fried rice. What a great place to eat!! I went here for lunch on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating so we got right in. The restaurant is very well decorated and super clean, which I love to see. I ordered vegetable udon noodles and I was so happy with it. The noodles were the perfect texture and it didn't feel as heavy and oily as some Asian restaurants can be. The portions are very large, so I recommend sharing or saving them for leftovers. The waitress was also so sweet and gave us (delicious) complementary mochi for dessert. A lovely new addition to our multi ethnic restaurant scene in Bethel. There were two waitresses manning the restaurant, who were very attentive. I ordered the vegetable Lo mein and miso soup as in the photos. It was not drenched in sauce and oil as is wont to be in other establishments, so for that I applaud its very subtle taste and perfect amount of salt and oil! The decor was Japanese and the waitresses spoke Chinese, they had a few Vietnamese and Thai items on the menu like Pho and mango sticky rice. A very Asian Fusion place as advertised. And the prices are very reasonable. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu, although, the green tea tasted terrible! Too much water for such a thin tasteless tea and not at all worth the 3 dollars. They should be serving that for free, which is why I removed a star. read more

I travel half an hour each way to pick up food from here. Why? Because, as I've mentioned before in other reviews when you find a good Chinese restaurant outside of NYC, you have found a needle in a haystack. I pass quite a few other Chinese restaurants on my way there and I am never tempted to make my life easier by eating at one of them again. Bad Chinese food is the worst! I've never eaten in the restaurant, due to Covid-19, but the food is always ready when they say it will be, well-packaged and delicious. I am especially fond of their appetizers. The people on the phone who bring the food to my car are courteous and friendly and often have a treat for my daughter. See you soon! read more

I have never patronized this establishment before so I wanted to try it and was very Happy about it. I did a takeout order of Shrimp w Garlic sauce and Brown rice, and a Wonton soup. I waited in my car and when it was delivered to me I was given a Lemonade drink. It was very refreshingly good and once I got home and ate my dinner, it was Delish!! It had the right amt of Heat and the Wonton soup was extra good too. I will drop by next time to a sit down Dinner with my family. I would def recommend Asian Kitchen anytime!! read more

Best Chinese in Bethel hands down. If you want to compare, order a wonton soup from Asian Kitchen and then Kowloon...then get back to me. General Tso's was awesome. Not too heavy like many Chinese places make it. Pho was very good, but I had it for take out and Pho is meant to dine in I believe. Japanese noodles were fantastic! I've been here 3 times for lunch. Each time was very good, and other people have said very nice portions! They even gave me a free lemonade today ! Very friendly staff as well. It is a little more expensive that the cheap places, but for a couple bucks more I think its worth it. I will continue to support this local business as nothing but praise so far ! read more

Got takeout last night, and while the surprise free lemonade and mochi were nice - our food was almost inedible. Got orange chicken and pork fried rice. The chicken was so "gummy" that I couldn't eat it. At first I thought maybe it wasn't cooked all the way, so tried putting it in the air fryer to cook it up a bit more, but that didn't help. Don't know if it was overcooked initially or just the poor quality of the chicken, but it was not up to par. Ultimately ended up throwing away 90% of the meal. I've been here a few times.. And as an Asian who loves Asian dishes.. this place is awesome! The wonton soup is the best, the dumpling is filled with good amount of ground meat and seasoning, not your commercial kind with the wonton wrapper so thick, barely any filling in it.. this was light and just delicious. We are used to eating a variety of Asian food coming from Philadelphia, and we found a fresh bite driving through Connecticut. The menu is not too big, but has a variety of choices: Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese. A rather Americanized menu with something for all tastes, including vegetarian. The atmosphere is clean, modern, nicely decorated, and the food was fresh and yummy. I had Vietnamese spring rolls and a Japanese avocado salad, and my daughter had chicken with broccoli, her favorite standard. Portions were good, prices were fair, and the service was excellent.
