This is one of the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. When I ask for spicy I get that. The customer service is great.

Mmmmmmm......, I'm seriously fighting myself to put the fork down, but i have to write this review now. If you ever missed ny style Chinese food,...You know, that real good food from the store down the block,...(the one that the second you called, they pretty much knew your voice because you're a frequent customer)....then look no further. I haven't had REAL good Chinese take out in a longg while. After walking around old time pottery, which can be a LONG time, i got hungry and looked up Yelp, to see what was in the area. This store is located in the same plaza as Old Time Pottery but it's at the other end. You have to drive around corner of the Marshalls and it's right next to the subways. I had trouble finding it at first, because Maps had the pointer in the wrong place, but i updated it. Walking in, i was surprised by the size and the brightness of the inside. I forgot that Florida has bigger stores and aren't piled up against each other lol I looked up the menu and called ahead for pick up. When i got there, a nice woman greeted me and got my order ready to go. (I called 15 minutes in advanced) There is a seating area with about 4 tables, seating 4 each. Also theres a tv on the wall and lots of cool ac. What really caught my attention, was the colorful food pictures posted NEATLY on the store glass. In one glance you learn that they cater and what food they cater. The menu is colorful and the prices are great. I enjoyed the rice a bit more than NY. The boneless ribs were spot on and the egg roll was devoured before i started my car. It's was crispy and Crunchy but soft inside and filled to capacity with veggies and pork. If your in the area, this is a great stop to grab a bite! read more

I usually get the broccoli and chicken dinner combo, comes with an egg roll and wonton soup (my fav) for under $10, can't go wrong. I usually have leftover for lunch the next day. I have to say, in this day and age when everything is crazy and restaurants are limited or closed, I was so glad to see that China Star was open. They had restrictions in place inside, and my husband and I kept our distance from the one man in the lobby getting his food, but the lady who took our order behind the glass shield was nice enough and we had our food in 10 minutes. Everything was fresh and hot and tasty when we got home with our order. We had stopped at another place on McNab and the workers in the back ignored us. So after 7 minutes, we left and came here. At least China Star wanted our patronage and we will patronize this place again! read more

China Star is by far the best Chinese food in Tamarac, with the best customer service. I order from China Star fairly regularly, and always order a spring roll instead of an egg roll, because I don't eat pork. Tonight when ordering, I forgot to request the spring roll in place of the egg roll... and they reminded me! I truly appreciate their customer service. Consistently fresh, hot and delicious food. This is literally 5mins from me. I looked it up on Yelp has 5 stars (which is great) so decided to give it a try and boy was I glad I did. I've ordered the pork egg foo young which I loved, barbecue ribs awesome, the sautéed broccoli amazing!!! Shrimp egg roll . Everything I've tried has been great! China Star is the only Chinese restaurant I will go too in Fort Lauderdale. After so many bad experiences with Chinese restaurant in Fort Lauderdale I finally found a good spot. Their food is very consistent and each time I go the food is very tasty, fresh, and good. I have tried here their fried rice, and the hot and spicy wings. Their fried rice is great and I ask them to cook it spicy and well done. They also have a side of hot oil that they give for free. I have never experienced any bad customer service from this place so they will continue to get my dollars. Their chicken wings are good too but its sooo huge so I don't get them anymore. I am not a big fan of oversized chicken wings. The restaurant is located in a plaza near a Krispy Kreme so their is plenty of parking. They also advertise their catering service and offer party trays of food. You can also dine in the restaurant, they have a couple of tables for people to sit and eat. The restaurant is usually not over packed so there is always somewhere to sit. I hardly ever call in my order, I usually do their online ordering service. Yes they have online ordering! And you can pay in cash or card when you get there. They also have a special instruction field box on the website so you can add in your special notes about your order. This place is very fast so whether I place my order ahead of time or order when I arrive, I never had to wait a long time. I look forward into trying more of their other Chinese dishes. read more

Service Fee Ripoff. Been a customer for over 4 years, ordered through all methods that this establishment utilizes. Placed an order tonight on what I thought to be it's website and when picked up my order and paid, I noticed I was charged .61 service fee. WTF, if your business is charged a fee by a website you use other than the delivery services out there, then absorb the fee, don't pass it on to your loyal customers. China Star has changed lately and not for the better. I saved you the time it takes from picking up the phone abs writing down an order, you didn't save me anything and I pay fir that. Being vegetarian I'm usually not a fan of Chinese food but I decided to give China Star a chance and boy was I surprised. I got tofu and vegetables and it was perfect. Great price and large quantity. It's close to my home so I will be ordering from here in the future. read more

We were well on our way to Flamingo Gardens to see the holiday light show before realizing that it had ended the day prior. This place has been bookmarked for me since I read a glowing review from a fellow yelper and saw what appeared to be legit looking Americanized Chinese. Anyone who lives in S Florida knows the Chinese options (with a few handful of exceptions) are simply atrocious. The pickings get even slimmer when looking for good Americanized Chinese. I definitely agree that this is some good Chinese takeout. It is not mind-blowing, but it is much better than almost any other Chinese I have tried in the tri-county area. The general tsos chicken was the closest to "right" I have found down here. Spare ribs were tasty, but a little dry. Fried rice was adequate. Egg roll was tasty. Prices and service were both good. The food is much better than some of the reviews I have read. The inside was immaculate. Tables, walls, floors were clean. No food trays left behind. Ceiling did NOT have old moldy, rotten, missing panels dripping old grease and dust onto food or my face. Service was fast. Even more impressive all of the food was cooked WHEN I ORDERED IT. No pre-cooked food! HALLELUJAH! :-) The Honey Garlic Chicken (nuggets) were crunchy, not too much sauce. The Shrimp in Garlic Sauce was exactly what I had thought it should taste like. The shrimp were HUGE! I was surprised. The ribs (with the bone) were not greasy or fatty. I'll take pics of the food next time (Round 2). Normally I don't eat any Chinese egg rolls because they're usually either burnt, hard, dry, or over cooked. But I can't believe I ate 2 of 3 egg rolls. They have made me a believer! Only downfall, they don't deliver. But they are close and prices are reasonable. The drive is only 7-10 minutes (Tamarac, Margate, North Lauderdale). I'll be back. read more

I read so many reviews that said this place was amazing. NOT. When I arrived, I was waiting for my turn and someone who must order from there often came in after me. She was given her order immediately and I overheard the girl working there say "I gave you free donuts". Well, where are mine? I ordered the Shrimp & Lobster sauce dinner. The wonton soup came in a cup so small, it wasn't worth giving it with the food. The lobster sauce was full of peas and carrots. Who does that? There were only 2 shrimp and the rest was fake krab (yes...with a "k") meat. Horrible. The beef on a stick was leaking sauce all over the place and their portions are miniscule.
