We absolutely love Dragon Tea House. This Asian restaurant has truly become a staple for our family. We live in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and happily make the drive because the quality is always worth it. They consistently use fresh ingredients, and they're generous with their portions, plenty of meat and vegetables in every dish. The container sizes are great as well, so you definitely feel like you're getting good value for your money. One small thing I've noticed is that there tends to be a bit more sauce in the dishes than necessary. It could be slightly less, but honestly, it's not a deal breaker at all. Dragon Tea House is a serene restaurant located in the East Commercial Plaza that offers a variety of Szechuan & Cantonese dishes at reasonable prices. After greeting the female employee behind the counter, I placed an order for steamed dumplings, a pint of special lo mein, and a pint of wonton soup. I also asked for a small pack of fried wonton noodles ($.50 a pack) for some added crunch for the soup. Here's my take on the food once I got home.... * Six steamed, textured dumplings with lightly seasoned pork filling. Complemented with a palatable dipping sauce. * The wonton soup contained four delicious meat-filled wontons with scallions, and pieces of roast pork in a tasteful broth. The wonton noodles added some crunchiness. * The special lo mein was absolutely flavorful and delicious. It was a mixture of soft noodles, tender pieces of chicken & roast pork, jumbo shrimp, snow peas, and bok choy. The food was enjoyable and tasted fresh without being oily or salty. Wow! Good Chinese food in Fort Lauderdale, I didn't know it existed until I tried Dragon Tea House. If you're like me you've tried multiple Chinese restaurants in the area and realized they're all pretty awful--mystery meat, bland flavor, and ratios of 80-20 breading to meat. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found DTH. I got the steamed pork dumplings as an appetizer and they tasted great. They're also quite large which was great. The real gem of the order was the orange chicken. Big pieces of real white meat chicken wrapped in perfect layer of breading and delicious orange sauce. It was amazing and will be my new go-to. Another thing I loved was that someone from the restaurant actually delivered my ordered. We had been craving Chinese food for a while, but didn't want it from a run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. While waiting for a food order a few doors away, we noticed Dragon Tea House. Once again, YELP was our go to before we stepped foot inside. Once inside, we were pleasantly greeted, and taken aback by the neatness. Two things will let you know Dragon Tea House is not a run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant: the electronic order menu [think Shake Shack] by the door, the décor. We opted for electronic ordering, and received updates via text. Btw, inside has considerably ample seating for its outside appearance. We received our order in a timely manner, paid and left. You can tell if a restaurant is good by trying its simplest dishes. We went with the sesame chicken lunch special, and ordered a couple of soups too. The sesame chicken was moist and tender! It did not taste or look like Dino Buddies or the Asian frozen meals from Innovasion. The fried rice was not dried out and tasteless. The Hot and Sour soup was as good as the defunct Bejing Express, which was on Oakland Park Blvd many, many years ago. Dragon Tea House is now one of our favorite Chinese restaurants! Family tradition of Christmas Eve takeout was satisfied by Dragon Teahouse. Located in an older plaza off of Commercial Blvd, it has been updated from what I remember. The order was ready quickly, and the staff was friendly. They offer a variety of dishes in pint and quart sizes along with combination dinners. We had the veggie lo mein, kungpao chicken, sesame chicken, and an order of rangoons. The portions were large and enough 2 meals. Everything tasted good, but the rangoons were not my favorite, not crispy enough, and made in a thicker breading rather than a wonton style wrapper. I've had takeout from here various times and it's always solid. The egg roll have been hit or miss. Twice they've been a little over done/burnt, but the times they haven't been over cooked, they've been good. The pork fried rice is great. Great flavor and good amount of pork. The Wonton Soup is great. Had it last time on a chilly day and it hit the spot. Orange chicken is solid. Generous portion and really tasty. The Lo Mein is my favorite thing I order. I get the veggie one, but want to try one of the other options next time. Orders are always ready quick and delivered (or picked up) super fresh. Dragon Tea House has become our Covid BFF. I think they probably know our order by now. Not only is Dragon Tea House jam packed with flavor, but they are super quick and our order is always correct. Whenever we order takeout from Dragon Tea House, I always order two entrees and combine them--I get the General Tso's Tofu and the eggplant. This will last me for at least three meals. All orders of course come with rice, so it's the perfect amount of food to spread out. The General Tso's Tofu is the best alternative I've had as a vegetarian. I never quite found the right order at other restaurants--I never left feeling satisfied, but Dragon Tea House finally satisfied that craving! The tofu is cooked perfectly--just the perfect texture on the outside, and hot and soft on the inside. My husband who typically ordered chicken even sometimes gets the tofu because it's so good. It's served with broccoli and rice. The eggplant is a purple eggplant and comes with onions and green and red peppers. Appears that the interior has total been redone, based on others' reviews and photos. Menu is large and laminated, and basically contains all the usual suspects of American-Chinese cuisine. They have take out and dine in, and the prices are reasonable for South Florida. The inside is relatively clean and organized, and you order from the counter. At some point, they turned the music on overhead and it was uncomfortably loud (not to mention cruddy American pop music totally inappropriate for a Chinese restaurant). The music was like off brand cover tunes, making it even worse. To top it all off, a couple of slobs were talking on their speaker phone turned all the way up (rudeness of people here never ceases to amaze me). Food didn't take long to come, but since we were dining in, it would have been nice to receive the soup FIRST, like in normal restaurant, but alas that didn't occur. It all came out at once. The hightlights included the special fried rice - delicious and chock full of myriad ingredients- and the tasty Kung pao chicken with an epic amount of nuts on top. The roast pork with mushrooms and snow peas had too much sauce and the mushrooms should've been cut into smaller pieces, and frankly there wasn't enough roast pork in it. The wonton soup was excellent, and I would stop here just for a quart of that bad boy. Overall, 3 1/2 stars would be the perfect rating for this strip mall restaurant. read more

This is our go to Chinese place. I can't anything is bad but not amazing. That's why it's 4 stars. The staff are very nice and quick to help. The food is safe to get anything. Nothing is regretful like at some locations. I would say I get the combination general tso chicken he most. I've had most dishes here and all is really good. We dug right in after some confusion- not as many egg rolls as the group had ordered- but the quality of the food made up for it. I'm not from here. I felt like Chinese food and found this place, which is rated hire on Google , but is at best a 2+. So the positives...service was quick and the prices are not bad. The ambiance is spartan and there is a lingering smell of "old" which was not appealing so I was glad to not be eating in the restaurant. The food is adequate. Portions are good, but flavor is lacking. The hot and sour soup has the hot, but not the sour and pretty tasteless. I didn't eat more than two spoonfuls. I tried three different entree items as you can purchase sizes similar to a Panda Express small which is great, but they tasted roughly the same in flavor, which was virtually tasteless and not distinctive. I have been on the hunt for a new Chinese food spot since Bamboo Asia succumbed to the business pressures of the pandemic and closed. I decided to try this place since it is right up the road as well. This place sits in the small plaza near Living Green towards the opposite end of the plaza. Parking is a bit tricky. If it isn't busy it is a breeze but if there is a lot going on it could be difficult. When we went there was 6 police SUV's. I don't know if they were eating or why they were there. I was just happy to find the only space available at that time Upon entering the restaurant it look updated. Like it had been recently updated but I could be wrong. No one was dining in but people were coming in and out to pick up. I didn't have to wait for my food. After the 20 minute time frame we were told it was piping hot and ready. The lady who rang us up was frendly but busy on the phone. I am pretty sure they make most of their money on delivery and takeout. We ordered a jumbo shrimp fried rice, vegetable lo mein, and spring rolls. The rice was ok. Super large portion with a generous amount of shrimp. Although it was good (and you can tell a lot about a place if the fried rice is good) I really loved the lo mein. It was full of flavor I just wish we ordered a larger portion of it. It had a load of veggies and the noodles were perfectly cooked. All and all I will try them again. I recommend you do too! read more

One of my new favorite take our places. They have been in business for a long time but only discovered it recently. They make everything fresh for each order and is perfect for dine in or takeout. Really like their Shrimp in Lobster sauce, their specialty fried rice and the spring rolls.
