Sweet & Sour/Honey Chicken dinner combos, Fried Dumpling, donut, crab Rangoon, egg rolls, and I think that's it lol
    Nicole G.

Wow, I've been looking for a good spot for almost 2 years and now that I'm moving I found this treasure. Don't miss out, if your looking for a spot, even an easy delivery options, this is your place to stop at. They're located in Pompano Beach, right off of federal highway (US1) before Atlantic Blvd, southbound. The food was fresh, it was not too expensive and all of it was absolutely delicious. We had actually ordered a couple different things since we've been looking for a Chinese spot for so long. In all honestly I can say I'm going to have to come back. If your looking for a place don't take 2 years just come here. Definitely must try they're fried dumplings and rice, yum!

The fried rice & vegetable lo mein are excellent!

This was my first visit here. I have no clue how the rating is only 3.9. The fried rice & vegetable lo mein are excellent! The customer service was good. They catered to my special request with no complaints. I will definitely enjoy coming back!

Won Ton Soup. Greasy and very gold color

Mediocre food. Small egg rolls. Bland pulverized inside. About the size of a spring rolls. Won Ton soup. Disgusting. Very oily and pasty mushy wonton. Had a weird taste and color. Kung Pao chicken dinner. Chicken was slimmy Vegetables over cooked. Needless to say I won't be back.

If you're going to China Wok don't think in terms of Cantonese, Szechuan, or any of the classic styles of Chinese cuisine. Instead think New York Style Chinese street food; a culinary insult to the wonders of what are real Chinese. When Chinese began immigrating into the United States, they were faced with the problems of available ingredients, lack of Chinese foodstuffs and having to Westernize in order to satisfy local palates. Hence dishes such as General Tao's Chicken and Chop Suey, which you won't find in China, were created. And if there ever was a restaurant that epitomized this rather disgusting stylization of Chinese food, it's China Wok. China Wok is just a little counter order hole in the wall of a fast Chinese food place. No décor or ambiance to speak of and the menu seems to be an overhead board with pictures of their offerings. Though it has a couple of tables, its focus clearly seems to be towards take out. For my meal I ended up sharing a General Tao's Chicken and a Pepper Steak with Onion. The taste, flavor, texture totally exemplified the worst of these knockoff imitations of what is Chinese food. Tao's Chicken was way overly sweet and the thin sliced for tenderness steak of the Pepper Steak full of untrimmed fats, grizzle and obviously of the cheapest cuts of beef, which left me hoping it was in fact beef. On the good side, however, it really was New York Style, the variant of what was Chinese as sold on the streets of New York; something unheard of in China. So for having New York stylized as does just about every so-called Chinese restaurant in Broward, Two Stars as though I have even, if you believe it possible, had better.

For fast, cheap Chinese food it doesn't get any better than the China wok. One of my favorites is a happy family never a disappointment.

I was in the Pompano Beach area and remembered there was a Chinese restaurant in the Garden Isles Shopping Center. The parking spaces fill up quickly during the evening; luckily, I managed to find one. A pleasant employee greeted me and took my order for a quart of house special wonton soup. I asked the employee if he had fried wonton noodles to go with the soup, and he confirmed that he did. The small restaurant had only a few tables if you chose to eat inside. It offers a wide selection of dishes at reasonable prices. I received my order within minutes and immediately headed home. As I pulled the container out of the bag, I was pleased to see it filled with not only wontons, but also shrimp, chicken, roast pork, carrots, broccoli, snap peas, scallions, celery, and mushrooms all in a flavorful broth. Now this is a wonton soup I can thoroughly enjoy.

We heard about Happy Wings & Fried Rice from two coworkers…read more Those guys crowed about the restaurant from the top of the house! So we decided to see about it for ourselves one Saturday afternoon. Both of them warned us it was in "da hood". One even recounted a gunshots incident a la "Boyz in the Hood" that made even duck or run for cover! This is one of those restaurants that YELP should add to as a "Best Hole-in-the-Wall restaurants" category. Despite it being where it is, please do not let that dissuade you from going. No lie. We went there early one Sunday morning [11:39 AM], saw about 15 questionable characters hanging around, and made a U-turn. Sandwiched between a food store and a urban wear store, this is expected. Just go, and get out if you feel comfortable. You can even order ahead. Speaking of sandwiched, there are 2-3 seats inside. And with the incredibly small amount of space between the front door and the order counter, you might feel like a sardine in a can, if you wait inside for your order. We received a happy greeting, which is important for us. The variety of wing flavors can be overwhelming [same as with Perry Wings], especially when you factor in the heat levels. As with most places that serve flavored chicken wings with a plethora of choices, you can mix flavors. But we really didn't go for the wings. We went for the House Special Rice! THAT rice separates this place from all other run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurants! THAT rice AND the amount of it you get with your order. This is a soul food Chinese restaurant. So they know their demographic. Happy Wings & Fried Rice should be your new go to for Chinese food. But don't take our word for it, read the YELP reviews and 400+ Google reviews!

I ordered hot lemon pepper wings with house special fried rice, hot honey garlic with the same rice, and as a litmus test - an order of plain flats. NOTHING DISAPPOINTED!!! These folks do what they do (wings & fried rice) and they do it well. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is IMMACULATE and the food is GREAT! The wings were crisp, meaty, juicy and not overly sauced. The sauces had just the right amount of seasoning and heat, and the rice was expertly cooked! This is in no way authentic Chinese food, and they're not claiming to be! They do WINGS & FRIED RICE - PERIOD! The place is EXTREMELY busy, so you already know that the food is fresh! This place is legit crave worthy and I'll definitely be back!

While waiting for my party to arrive, I perused the wine menu. It was quite extensive. I think an oenophile would be quite happy with the selection offered. I had a Cotes du Rhone (Alain Jaume, $12) that I thoroughly enjoyed. The menu is adequately sized, but I would not say it was extensive. If you are looking for your favorite Sunday eve dish, you may not find it here, but you won't have a problem if you can pivot to another preparation. Dishes ordered at my table were a spring roll, a house special wonton soup (very flavorful) and lobster dumplings for appetizers. If I can be nit-picky, I'd suggest that they change the size of their dishes to smaller plates and bowls. The food looked puny on the large stark-white plates without a garnish, but all the flavors were spot on, so does it really matter? I actually think it does because you can tell that the owners take pride in the details of their establishment. For entree's, we ordered a spicy shrimp dish (4 jumbo, crisp shrimps came in the order), a Grand Marnier crispy beef (4 large pieces), a house fried rice with nuggets of char siu pork, tender baby shrimp, white meat chicken, egg and vegetables and a special of wok fried string beans which was by far the standout of our meal. After supper, we ordered some tea. It was somewhat weak in flavor but that could have been our fault; we did not let it steep long enough. The waiter came by with a tray of delicious-looking cakes to choose from but we declined. Every person that we encountered was nicer than the next. The waiters were knowledgeable and paced our meal well. Prices are not inexpensive, and reservations are definitely suggested. They do takeout as well.

It's in a different type of location -- a very small strip of businesses with only a few spots in front -- in the middle of a residential location. We were driving by between lunch and dinner and decided to stop to bring some food home for a later meal. When we stopped by, we got to meet the owners and chef. They were both very welcoming and friendly. He told us about some special meals and made suggestions. He was preparing some blue crabs for his own lunch, and they looked wonderful. You can get some special meals here, off menu, if you preorder. We went with a couple of our usual choices so we could see how they compared. We ordered some pork with Chinese vegetables and an order of Singapore rice noodles. Plus, for me an order of egg roll. The rice noodles were such a large portion that it filled two containers. And we wound up eating several meals from our take home food. The eggroll was very good. I ate one right away! There were two to the order. It had a different crispy wrapper -- it seemed house made. And it was filled with larger bits of meat. I really liked it. There was a lot of large flat pork slices in with the vegetables. In a brown sauce, there was broccoli, bok choy, pea pods, etc. It came with a side container of white rice. The rice noodles were fragrant with curry, but it only had a slight kick (as in not too spicy). There were lots of shrimp, chicken, and pork strips mixed in with the thin noodles. This dish was addictive. We are so glad we stopped to try them. Really one of the better Chinese places we've tried and certainly one of the better take-out places. Wish they were closer, or we'd be there more often.
