**3.5 Stars** We came here because we were starving after our road trip. When we entered there was a family eating dinner but, a few people doing pick up orders. This seems to be a family owned business as they did have kids in the back that were helping and answering the phones and then returning to their homework. The person taking the orders was wearing a mask but, not the people who cooked. We were ordered chicken fried rice, crab rangoon, pork fried rice, chicken lo mein, pork/shrimp egg rolls and chicken and broccoli. We ordered and the food was ready in 45 minutes. The egg rolls were not greasy and were tasty. The crab rangoon was delicious and devoured in a few minutes. The fried rice and chicken and broccoli was not greasy and tasty. Personally, I think the chicken and broccoli was decent but, tasted like it was missing something. I also thought they were cheap on the protein. Overall, this is a decent option if you are craving Chinese food and in the area. The prices are affordable and the food isn't greasy.

China Star is a college student staple in the Union area! The food options and deals are good, the staff is always kind and the delivery is always fast and consistent, often arriving way before the time frame they give you. My go-to is the Boneless Spare Ribs with white rice or the General Tso Chicken with Egg Fried/Pork Fried Rice and egg roll combination! The food portions are also a plus!

Hot & sour soup. It was neither!

Big smile from the lady behind the counter when I walked in! Not what one usually gets when walking in to a Chinese take out restaurant! Ordered chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce with hot & sour soup lunch special. Food was mundane! Really generous portion and not bad by any means, just nothing to rave about! I'd certainly go back! Check it out!

Good food, hot delivery. The Yat Gaw Mein was a little disappointing but everything else was banging. Classic east coast Chinese takeout

Do not eat at this restaurant. Here 's my warning…read more This place is having a major identity crisis. They are in the process of merging restaurants so we received several menus but were told that not all items were there and that there are some repeats and that all the prices were going to be different. Next, within a minute of sitting down, the waitress very seriously yelled at a young child we had with us about using chopsticks. This kid knows how to use chopsticks and uses them at home. She was excited to see them and be able to use them at a restaurant. The waitress then belittled us for allowing that. She was an extremely nasty person and ruined the entire experience. We resisted the urge to walk out and now have regrets about it. She felt awkward about how we received her criticism, so she pet the child's head and called her a pretty girl. The place is decorated with Christmas presents and bells (it's May). I wish that was the most insulting thing. We were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time. (That should have been our first sign). If you didn't want people to eat there, just close the inside and do just take out. As soon as we were sat she asked what we wanted and wouldn't leave until we asked her to. She came back with drinks a minute later and wouldn't leave again so we ordered a couple appetizers just to buy more time in deciding our dinner. She continued to belittle us and made eating incredibly awkward. We received our entree before we were done eating the appetizer, so I guess she wanted us to leave as much as we wanted to leave. The sushi was surprisingly good. Which is why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1. I just felt so uncomfortable eating here that I didn't enjoy much of it at all.

Diners and costumers like…read moreme praise the authentic homestyle dishes, standout flavors, generous portions, and exceptionally very friendly and warm service, though some of my companions note a plain ambiance and higher price points ( for me their pleasing food quality and taste outweighs the price ). The Chicken Sisig, Palabok, pork BBQ and sizzling Biko with ice cream are a must-try from the food menu. The appetizers, like the piping hot vegetable lumpia and their humongous portion of Halo-halo as dessert are highly recommended by me and other reviewers. When we dined at this place, the whole staff gave me a feeling as if I was eating at an aunt's house, with the owner and staff providing very welcoming, family-style care. I have been living in NY for more than 30 years, have already eaten in so many low and high-end Filipino restaurants, in terms of food quality and taste, I may say this by far is the best that I have experienced. If given the chance to be in New Jersey again, I will definitely, 100% be back to this place for their delicious and flavorful food. Some of my companions point out that the seating area is relatively small, which can lead to limited availability during peak times, and a few note the interior decor is fairly plain but it did not matter to me because the food that I ordered/tried were great and amazing (properly spiced, cooked very well and soooooooo delicious!! ). Food portions are generous, presentation was appetizing and excellent, staff service was attentive and great ( I noticed that our water glasses were always filled up which is a service very consistent in so many high-priced restaurants that I have been ). Table setting is good, food utensils and plates were very clean ( yes, I checked it! ). I am extremely satisfied with my food experience and the hospitality of the owner and their staff in this Filipino restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE!!!

Service wasn't that great and we were the only customers there at the time then other guest staggered in . I'm all for restaurants thriving and always wish them luck but holy cow prices are crazy average appetizers are $16.50 or more and entree dishes are $25 or more for serving sizes and flavors are really lacking in a lot of dishes . Lechon was cut thinner not the usual big chunks and the oil tasted old and was greasy . Sinigang with the Baboy was very underwhelming the Baboy wasn't boiled down enough . The sisig has too much of a soy sauce taste and way too much mayo on top . The chicharron bulaklak was okay could have used a bit more seasoning and seemed to be a popular item that day . The BBQ stick was decent but not for $18 . Being Filipino myself I know everyone has their own way of making certain dishes so people may like it but in my opinion I've had better at a few other spots . Wishing them all the best .
